I would like to know...when they came to your church, was a basket ( or whatever ) sent around for donations? I don't really care either way about the blogs etc. I am just really curious.

Yes. And I felt horrible because all I had was a one-dollar bill in my purse!

Do you mean the basket was sent around for donations for Jon & Kate?

The church pays them to come and speak AND the members/partners of that church ALSO donates money to them?

I don't know if the church paid for them to come or not. It was not my church, just one locally. Everyone in the community was invited.

I refuse to believe any of this woman's rantings. She seems like a very bitter and vengeful individual. And who knows if she's even who she says she is! I love the show and I love Jon, Kate and the kids. Jon and Kate came to my city last fall and spoke at a church. They did not seem "money hungry" at all and were very humble, down-to-earth people. If it's all an act, then that's between them and God. I will continue to watch and enjoy every episode.

Sad and pathetic, also.:sad2:
Don't forget jealous. Sounds like she wishes she had the opportunities that J/K have.

I don't understand the part where she talks about the Organic chef because we've seen Kate cooking for the family in lots of the episodes.

I think Jon and Kate should get whatever freebies are offered that the network arranges. It's now the #1 show on TLC, so TLC is making big money off of them...so Jon and Kate should some, too. If an organic chef, cleaning people, babysitters and product placements are arranged by the network/producers, I'm completey fine with that. TLC has kind of made it hard for the family - the show is a success and they get things from it, BUT the appeal of the show is that they are just like everyone else, struggling to raise a family. So natually the would encourage them to try and "hide" certain things - we all tune in for the kids and the normal stuff, not to watch housekeepers cleaning. I think the show should just be honest, and maybe do some episodes about the family giving back. That was in the mission statement Jon and Kate drew up, about how they want to give back because they have been given so much.

Whatever is going on behind the scenes, I'm sure the truth will somehow come out eventually. Do I think "love offereings" should be taken at churches for the family? No. If it is true that Jodi and others were "denied" being paid by Kate, then I certainly wouldn't approve of that. Like I said, though, the truth will likely come out eventually. If that is Jodi's sister blogging, she's not helping the situation by airing everything publically.

If you belong to Facebook, there are a lots of "Jon & Kate" fan groups. Just do a search for "Jon and Kate plus 8" and they will all come up. The first one has the most members, and also has TONS of pictures I've never seen before, including shots of them at the speaking engagements. Lots of cute pics of the kids, too!! :goodvibes

I just can't believe that this person is who she says she is.

I have watched all of the episodes and have seen Kate fixing meals and Jon hands out the food to the kids. I hardly ever see Kate sit down and eat with them, because by the time food is given to all of the kids, they are wanting seconds. I have seen her rinse dishes and load the dish washer. She says that whoever it is that folds her laundry has since the beginning and she spends time with the children while she is folding clothes. I hate doing that and if someone volunteered, I would sure let them.

But as others have stated, I don't watch because of Jon and Kate, I watch because of the children.

So, anyone else watch tonight's episode where they went to the bakery to make birthday cupcakes?

I've always been okay with Kate (well, until the gum incident), but this episode really pushed me in the other direction. Could she not have enjoyed herself at al? All she did was sit with a scowl on her face, worrying about the mess. Then not even letting the kids have a cupcake at the bakery. I felt so bad for the women at the bakery - Kate was so rude and ungrateful. How embarrassing. Seems with each episode Jon gets more and more disgusted with her.

The kids, however, were adorable as always! Aaden in disbelief that he didn't get his cupcake for not finishing dinner: "I don't get my cupcake?! AWWW!!" So cute!

Those scenes are from early episodes...and they would still have to serve the food and clean up even if the actual food was provided. We also haven't seen Beverly (who folds the laudry) in the new season.

I don't know....if that WASN'T Jodi's sister's blog, then I think there would be an online statement as such from Jon and Kate's camp...or at least Jodi. I'm inclined to believe it is her sister writing it.

My thoughts exactly! I have always liked Kate too, I am like her in some ways, but in tonight's episode she was out of line. And poor Jon. He could do no right. Watching the show tonight actually made me uncomfortable in a way, it seemed so ackward (sp?)

Even in their couch interviews, something seemed off tonight.

I think their show has seen better days, and they would be smart to end it soon before it damages any more relationships (if the online stories are all true), especially within their own immediate family.

You said it exactly - I felt so UNCOMFORTABLE watching! If Kate wasn't embarrassing herself at the bakery, she was embarrassing Jon (about his weight, about the laundry, about how he cannot refer to his life in seasons). Good grief, Kate, let the man breathe or he is going to LEAVE you for someone who isn't on his case every second!!

Kate was being rude to the women at the bakery?
Also they clearly said the kids didn't have finish their dnner to have the cupcakes. Just just needed to eat a few bites, which Aaden would not do.

The organic Chef was for one day. We even talked about her on this thread and there is an episode involving her visit.

Yes, I understand that they didn't get the cupcakes if they didn't finish their food...I meant it was cute/funny how Aaden reacted.

Yes, Kate was VERY rude to the women running the bakery. They opened the place especially for them on a Sunday, probably gave them everything for free, and all Kate did was scrunch up her nose and act ungrateful.

That was a visit from Sara Snow, who was teaching Kate about organic cooking and other green things. The chef we are talking about is the organic chef the blogger says now does all of the family's cooking.

But I think the blogger has it set up to not allow comments. So they can say whatever they want with no way for anyone to dispute anything they say.

I thought they both were tired. My sister and I both act like that when we're tired. Didn't they have a speaking engagement the day before? I can't find the schedule to check. And maybe they were just having a bad day. Everyone has those, ours just aren't filmed and edited down to 30 minutes.

Geez! Read that blog and you'll think that Kate is the devil and Jodi is a saint. When I first read the blog, I was inclined to believe it was written by Jodi's sister. The tone of the blogs was that of a sister defending her sister. Now, these latest installments are just Kate bashing and have very little to do with Jodi. They read like all the other blogs I have read.

I will have to rewatch the episode but I do not think that Kate was rude to bakery staff. I think she was silly to NOT bring a change of clothes for at least the little kids. She KNEW going in that it was a messy activity. So in her typical behavior she was freaking out about the mess.

I loved Aiden reaction to not getting his cupcake. That has replaced (I think it was Leah's) I - want - a ba - gel.

My 15yo commented about how they (Jon & Kate) were both being mean (about the kids) as they were getting ready for church.

And in regards to them not showing the helpers, friends, family etc. I actually am enjoying seeing them do activities that are just the 10 of them or just the boy, just the girls etc. Not showing Jodi or Beth watching the kids while they do something with just one or a few of them.
