I really hope that Maddy isn't as horrible as they make her look on tv. I swear I cringe everytime she's on.

What are you going to get on your feet that is so horrible in a hotel room? It's not like running your tongue across the floor. It's your feet. :confused3 It's the bed that I would be more worried about.

At one point while watching Maddy, the name Varuca came to mind :lmao: :scared1: Hotel rooms can gross me out too if I think about it too much. I have never caught a disease from one that I know of, so I try to just NOT think about it while I am there.

I love how she talked about Disney. A lot of shows don't show Disney in the way that we DISers see it, but everything she said made her sound like "one of us". There were several times that I wondered if she ever came around the DIS. LOL.

I felt like such a nerd getting excited to watch this episode. I too thought they did not show enough of Disney and more of stuff that we have seen before. However if you think about it, it made sense. Kate is super controlling and extremely organized. She is also always trying to make it a point that she wants to give her kids the most normal life possible, creating family memories! So obviously she is not going to allow a tv crew to follow the whole family around for thier entire vacation. Who would want that?? So she no doubt gives them (TLC Crew) the big MK day and the drive down. I am sure that Kate is the one bargaining on this whole tv deal. I never thought much of how Kate's personality is until reading these threads and I must say last night I thought she was a little over the top. The ice cream incident was hilarious. She did not have extra clothes because the girls had to match and if she brought an extra shirt it would mess things up. LOL -just kidding (a little) The camera come on already learn to work it. Although I have gotten that upset when a character comes and the camera is not ready. It made me think twice!
NO nikon, sony, or kodak should not get them a new camera. They can buy one with the money they make with the show! We all know that a Disney trip being paid for is a dream in itself.

I also think that they didn't just do disney. There were a couple mentions of the disney portion of our trip. So I'm wondering if after Disney they spent a couple days at US.
I love that Kate loves Disney so much.

I fell asleep during the show!! I hope it will replay..I LOVE that they stayed at the WL

What makes you think their trip was paid for by someone else? Just curious.

I'm with the rest - what they didnt show has me wondering!!

Did they get a portion of the trip paid for - probably... what about the 3 "babysitters"? How did they handle the trip? Did they take Tatiana, and the Twins and do other rides? I cant imagine Kate and Jon with the 6 under 3 - so 5 adults, and 9 kids isnt too bad - I was thinking like a daycare trip -

and did you notice there was always a Disney CM with them? Just a blue denim shirt person in the background, but I agree, how did they get the parks in July that empty? The parade in itself you have to get your spot at least 30 min before - but with a group of 9 - and yet, when they filmed Jon and Kate leaving, it was to an empty street!!! When they arrived, there were plenty of people, but not in fantasyland - Did they ever do Pooh? Small World? Peter Pan??? What about the other parks? I did read someone on the Dis did spot them in Downtown Disney - and Kate had a calendar with each day's plan, and I thought it was Day one Downtown Disney -

I doubt she comes on to the Dis - not message boards, when does she have time? She is so OCD with cleaning, and organic food (we have to take medicine because we cant do organic at Disney) Yet, she is a Disney lover - how excited "where dreams come true"

How many rooms did they have at WL? 3 rooms? a suite? I dont know WL, so I couldnt tell beyond there was a connecting room...

see, more questions than answers!!:hippie:

Surely they did more, and we just didn't get to see it. I was almost wondering if they didn't get to come into the park before it was opened to the public, or if they did some special taping times for them. I was also hoping they would have shown what type of room they stayed in at WL. It was hard to tell.

I had to give an  when she made that comment. Then at the end when Kate said that they were all sick I figured that she would blame it on the food they ate.

I loved the WDW episode!!!
All of the Kate haters are a little harsh, I mean she had 6 kids at once, if she wasn't a little anal, her life would be a mess! I think they are so real, not phoney like most reality tv.
The kids are adorable & the fact that she loves Disney makes me like her even more...plus the fact that my DH said, "Thats you on vacation..except for the short hair.":rolleyes1
To my defense that was before the ice cream incident. (The mess would just be my excuse to go shopping!":thumbsup2

I liked the part when they were discussing how clothes always seem to become an issue. Kate seemed surprised when the producer interjected that most people don't react the way they do.

I have been there many times when there are 'special people' there. Last year at ESPN the Weekend, all the wives and families had escorts. I think it's added security, it also keeps them from being mobbed. Those jobs are sought after, but you have to pay your dues in customer relations, often for years, before you get to do that.

I think the additional help are people who are truly and genuinely good people, who happen to have money. Plus, Jon could make decent money, his late father was a dentist who had his own office. I don't know if they are paid for the show. I remember the episode where they were drawing up their wills and the discussion about having 8 kids in college at the same time was brought up. If they are being paid for it, they certainly aren't living high on the hog. It seemed like the addition of the room above the garage was something they had to save for.

I really love the give and take between them. I also like that the producers will be a part of the show on occasion, unlike the other type of shows where they aren't ever even being mentioned. One thing that intrigues me is how comfortable they seem to be in front of the camera.

:lmao: Something like popcorn would have been a better choice on a hot summer day in July popcorn::

I like that part too. I was wondering how they got all the sleeping kids into the hotel room on the drive down, then she mentioned the crew kept an eye on the van while they took the kids in :)

I wonder if the crew could only stay one day, but then they had to be driving with them for the crew to help them at the first hotel.

I didn't understand the logic of leaving at 5:00 p.m. Stopping at 2:30 to sleep. I know they broke the day up so they were only in the car 9 hours at a time. It just seemed strange to pay for a room at 2:30 - 6;30. Plus I don't understand why the little one's just didn't go to the bathroom at the hotel. They are 3, they should be able to use a large toilet.

Around here lots of people leave in the evening to have sleeping kids for a portion of the ride. And then snooze in the early am. You can see the cars as you drive up I 95. We prefer waking up at 4AM and starting our drive down then.

When my DS was 3, he only liked going on the potty with his little seat on it! Plus I use to have to put my hand over the sensor on the automatic flushing toilets. He hated those toilets!

How nice of her SIL to help out!! I loved the part when they were talking about her scaling to the way back of the van. He loves her butt :lmao:

I love when Hannah was helping fold laundry. She kept looking up at the camera with a little proud look, like she knew she was doing something great. And then when Kate talked about it with such reverence, and said, "What a dear baby."
