Well, what did everyone think of the WDW episode.
Me and my dd thought they spent to much time on Kate getting her hair done. We were like, "come on, we saw her already have a make-over."

6:30 a.m. and walking to Chef Mickey's. We figured they for sure had to be at the opening of the MK at 8:00 0r 9:00 a.m.

Dumbo - first ride, true DIS veteran.

She mentioned WDW website, Touring with Toddler's, so now we know she has the internet at least.

My dh said it looked like the park was empty. It probably was, it was early morning yet when they did Dumbo and Tea Cups. They had to do a lot more since they were there till 3:00.

I was trying to figure out where they had the roped off area for the parade. My guess was at the front of the park.

I absolutely LOVE this show and their family. I too wish the WDW episode was longer. They spent the entire first 30 minutes just getting there! I wanted to see more parks and more rides and more characters...all the things we love!

As previous posters have stated about editing:

Jon and Kate came to a local church a few weeks ago for a speaking engagement. She said the producers are there filming about 4 days per month, so their home is not invaded all the time. And she said if Mady has 4 meltdowns or Kate snips at Jon 4 times, they will edit it to look like it all happened the same day. She said Mady is a drama queen and does have her moments but she is not as bad as they make her seem. I feel that way about Kate too. How many of us have snapped at our husbands like that? AND SHE HAS 8 KIDS 7 OR UNDER!!! To me...she's superwoman.

And they do have a computer. So Jon or Kate, if you're Diser's and reading this thread...keep up the good work! You have a lot of support here.

Did they only go to MK or did they go to the other parks as well? It seems like a lot of driving to just go to one park. I know at the end Jon mentioned 5 days of eating at Disney. Very confused.

I thought that Mady was actually sort of likeable in the first part. I loved when she saw the bear in the bag and took it out. That cracked me up. I loved Collin on Dumbo. I never want to get off either! I noticed that it looked like there were empty Dumbos. So it had to be really earlyKate on the tea cups is like my sister. She hates to spin whereas I love to spin. They had to have gone to other attractions. I wish they would have split this episode up over like 2 hours. I loved how the babies kept saying "My Mickey."

I wish they showed more of the trip and less of the "prep".

I was hoping to learn a few things, but there wasn't much there.

I don't like her. I think Jon is a sweetie and the kids are great, but she's just.....that episode where she fired that poor cleaning lady was awful.

One thing I wish I could learn from her is her ability to ask for help. When she called her SIL and just asked her to take the kids and feed them - at first, I thought, "That's a bit pushy!" Then I realized, my life would be so much better if I could just call my friend and say, "I need an hour to go to an appointment, can you watch Kate?" instead of trying to drag her to every appointment.

She went nuts over Ice cream on a shirt, Seriously wipe it off and enjoy the park lady. the interviewer asked if she over reacted. Duh!! She over reacts to EVERYTHING.

I agree with everyone about the WDW part being too short!

I like Kate, but she really just needs to let some things go and stop being so anal. She has 8 kids, and everything doesn't need to be just so. The whole no walking on the hotel room floor without shoes is a little over the top.

That was the one thing I agreed with! :lmao: UGH, I'd never walk around barefoot in a hotel room. You don't even want to know what could be found in those carpets :scared1:

The ice cream was WAY over the top, but it made for a good laugh. I like Kate but those poor kids are going to be neurotic. I wish they would have shown more of Disney. The kids were so cute interacting with the characters!

There have been a few posts from other Disers about spotting them at various places at WDW. She did say they were there for 5 days.

Yes I believe that they only filmed the MK day. And judging by her style I am sure Kate had it all organized to see as much as possible. I too wish they spent more time on Disney(obviously if I am here:rotfl2: ) but I hope they got to have some down time on vacation.
Yes a minor over-reaction to the ice cream but man I get a random meltdown at Disney trying to take care of just my 4- so while it was over the top, I sure wouldn't want to have to relive my bad moments over and over on tv. They are very brave!

I was:rotfl2: about the ear plugs in the car.

Especially when the kids were sitting on the hotel blankets! I worry more about hotel blankets than the floors because the floors get vacuumed daily but how often do the blankets get washed!

I was hoping that they would show more of them in the parks too. DD15 was jealous when they were at Chef Mickey's. She said they she would be upset if she was there because she just knew they would be getting all of the attention! DD13 said that she is going to have 8 kids so that she can be on tv and gets lots of special treatment and free stuff. Haven't I raised wonderful non selfish children? ;)

I think that Kate is very over the top, but I can't help but like her. I was so proud of Jon for standing up to her! DD13 thought he was being awful until she saw how Kate spoke to him later in the show. You got to give her credit. I only have three kids and I don't even have a fraction of her patience or organization. There is no way in the hot place that I would have taken that many little ones on a 19 hour car trip! LOL

I really hope that Maddy isn't as horrible as they make her look on tv. I swear I cringe everytime she's on.

What are you going to get on your feet that is so horrible in a hotel room? It's not like running your tongue across the floor. It's your feet. :confused3 It's the bed that I would be more worried about.

That was the one thing I agreed with! :lmao: UGH, I'd never walk around barefoot in a hotel room. You don't even want to know what could be found in those carpets :scared1: I wouldn't have had them sitting on the comforter though either because God knows what you are going to find on there!

The ice cream was WAY over the top, but it made for a good laugh. I like Kate but those poor kids are going to be neurotic. I wish they would have shown more of Disney. The kids were so cute interacting with the characters!

I wish they showed more of them in the parks as well. I could care less about her getting her hair done!

I am just guessing, but I wonder if they showed the hairdresser because Kate gets criticized about her hair style being too expensive to maintain.

I have read on other sites where they think Kate spends too much on her hair and getting her nails done is why they showed that it was a modest salon and showed the price broad to show it was modest too.

I am always amazed at what people find to be critical about. Kates hair is one thing I think is over the top to complain about.

I wish they'd shown more of their actual vacation at WDW. They could have made it a 2 pt show.:guilty:
I agree! Maybe they wanted some privacy with the other parks? Surely they went to the other?! My ds said "they are leaving already" LOL.

I thought the park looked fairly empty for July!! Wow! So were the Princess' in the Rose Garden a special thing for their family?

You know, I was thinking last night that they showed Jon being a lot crankier than Kate at some points. He snapped at her a lot! :lmao:

I think I recall her saying that her SIL told her she would help, and Kate came up with the idea of them eating over there.

I wouldn't want mine on tv either! :rotfl2: The heat of July would be enough to put me over the edge at some point :scared1:

I give them a lot of credit for even taking all of those kids on that trip! I only have the 2 and I can be VERY snippy when the 7yr old is acting like Mady or the baby is whiny. LOL I would be a total PITA if I had 8 and one of them was always whining or something. I was hoping to see more of their trip too but I imagine with the group of them and then the camera crew it would have been tough to manage and hard to enjoy.
