In this case, with this family, they are on WE..is that owned by TLC? I have no idea.

I have to hand it to you Walden, you are consistant, it's not just the G kids. If the kids (any kids) are going to be on TV, I'd like to see some rules in place, and enforced if they have them. I'd actually like to see them have their own representative, like they do in family court often in NYS. While I personally am not against them being on, I would like their day to be dictated by someone with nothing to gain.

One hopes that TLC is abiding by Florida's child labor law, and that the parents have got the right permits and licences and are not permitting filming for more than 6 hours a day. The workplace issue might be a little tricky as their home is their workplace. Here is Florida's legislation specific to minors working in entertainment, FYI.

Will you all be watching "Kate Plus Eight" on Sunday night with the 2 hour season premier? And will this be the thread to discuss the new show?

I am really looking forward to the show! I hope Kate and the kiddos are doing well!

Jon seems to have dropped out of sight ... at least the PAPS sight ...

I'd say we are pretty much 50/50 on this board.
I'll be watching the premier on Sunday, I thought it was Monday, I would of missed the show.

I think Kate got a enhancement, either that or she invested in the Victoria Secret bra, that makes you 2X larger.

That's funny, because I was actually going to say, I bet she went to Victoria's secret. I think she invested heavily in push up bras.

Once I saw her in one of the photo's in 'sloppy' clothes I totally forgot the idea of an enhancement. They were going south, and small, and enhancements usually don't LOL.

I just think she would have no problem saying she got the girls lifted.Of course she would prob say she had to, because of having all those kids

Saw the people cover you all are reffering to. saw nothing wrong with there faces. those kid just have wiered smiles to begin with, specially joel. the highchairs--they are not highchairs really, they are just chairs made specially for kids to eat like grownups at tables, they just look like baby highchairs. and the naps, well sometimes kids get cranky and need a time out,that's my theory.

and no nothing is wrong with me, is it agains't the rules to post soo much? its a discussion board i would tend to think good and respectfull opinions were allowed!

dmrick i don't tihnk she had any enhancments.. i think it's just the new hair. makes her look like she did. i think also when she decided to stop wearing sweatpants and jammies into public that it was a shocker to see that kate actually had a nice figure

and speaking of we an tlc.. what about 19 kids and counting?? can you imagine having 19 kids!!!!

My daughter napped until 1st grade. She did 1/2 day K and napped every single day PLUS went to bed at 8.

Once in 1st grade, she'd nap on the weekends at least one day.

While on vacation at WDW (we'd go once a yr. anyway) she napped daily until she was probably 9. We'd nap too. Then, she'd just swim/relax in the afternoons.

I don't see naps as a big deal.

Its too bad the kids really didn't have a choice if they wanted to be on tv or not. I'm sure they were told do you want to get out of the house and go on vacations or do you just want to go to school?? I can't afford any family vacations or outings so we have to have a film crew follow us the entire time so that the trip is paid for. Mommy wants to be filmed so looks like we made a decision. It will be our family job.

soo i don't have kids. but a a 30 year old still growing, i know that as a teen and in my late 20's i was giving alot of choices to make my own path in life and some were bad and some were good,and i always learned from the bad ones. life is about choices!

I don't think the kids are given a choice about doing the show (or not). I don't think Mady was allowed to go to a friends during filming if she didn't want to be there. There may have been times they had to relocate her because she was too obstinant to get any good footage. I think they may have been given an ultimatum, but that's not the same as a choice. Kate said if one person doesn't want to do it, we all quit. Jon didn't want to do it. He said so on tv. Mady has said she doesn't want to do it. I hope the kids are happy with the choices their parents have made for them. As quickly as they are growing up and as strong as their personalities are, this can't go on much longer.
The preview looks EXACTLY the same as Jon and Kate plus 8. Kate in a chair talking about how she was down one "helper" and completely stressed. I like documentaries, (like their early specials), not reality tv. It is so far from reality. Kate's other show? What in the world? The kids are still adorable.

I think Kate's show is a test, to see if she can carry a show on her own. It's called Twist of Kate and apparently will chronicle her doing various jobs and offering insight where she can. I'm pretty curious to see if she'll manage it or not. I hope she does and then hopefully Kate+8 can go back on the shelf and not on tv. A perfect compromise would be Kate's show going forward with a yearly update on the kids. That would be smart and I'd actually watch that. Then it wouldn't be a regular job for the kids.

TLC isn't stupid, they know they have a much better chance at higher ratings with the kids rather than just Kate. At least I think so anyway. IMO, Kate can't sustain a show on her own and the only means to a successful TV career is a show featuring the children.

TLC is a lot of things .. but you're right, stupid isn't one of them.

The part of your post that I bolded? I think we have all come to know by now that is "Kate speak" - which often changes to suit her particular needs at any given moment..

You have no idea how badly I wish that Kate - or Jon - or both of them could have a successful career doing something - anything - that doesn't involve selling their children and putting them back to work again..

My thoughts exactly--they aren't given a choice. Its unfortunate that Mommy can't make it on tv without her 8 cash cows. Is it really worth it Kate to give up your kids privacy for fame??
