Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 8

Kate isn't the only mom on the show this season .. do they ask the other stars what their kids think? or do the stars mention their kids? I'd think they would, but I just thought of that.

Even if they did, if it doesn't bring them an audience, that prob isn't the part of the interview we'd see. I doubt the camera's are in the practice rooms for just the few minutes we see. I assume (yep, that word again) the camera people are there for awhile and they are prob trying to catch things like Kate mentioning her problems, or people (any o fthem..a few have had issues) arguing. Whatever makes for better TV.
Let's see, what is more apt to make one of the mags, and bring more attention to DWTS;
Kate mentioning her problems, or Kate announcing she has a blister?
Kate saying woah is me, or Kate asking Tony if he'd like a bottle of water?

Pam Anderson said something about her kids too. She seems like such a wild person but when she spoke about her kids she looked normal and genuine.

It doesn't bother me that Kate says hi to her kids or something about how they love to watch her. Other celeb moms on the show have said as much in the past too. Now if she keeps mentioning custody issues or trouble with Jon, I'd think it was in very poor taste. But she's used to doing that with her show, it was all about her and the kids so it's probably a hard habit to break. Ok, now I've got that song from Chicago stuck in my head...'you're a hard habit to break.'

I didn't watch the show--but sad to say, I did hear a little about that.

of my 12 weeks of free Us Weekly, I think Jake & Vienna and Kate have been the only things on the cover. LOLOL

I get all that. I was just curious. really. that's all. I don't watch DWTS very often. LOL.

Pamela comes across as warm and genuine in general, imo. Kate...not so much.

No, but one left the show due to her DH's---well....really really really bad badness. Sara something or other--the country singer.

She didn't DIS him--Tony did.

She just said she had custody issues due to a new lawsuit he filed that week. Or perhaps I missed a direct derogatory comment? Kate was feeling like a failure and the only thing I caught was Tony saying that if she quit, then Jon wins.

I further interpreted that to mean that she shouldn't let whatever problems are occurring to interfere with her doing the show and trying her best.

Pamela said that her 2 boys, watch with their dad Tommy. She said after the show they didn't vote. They didn't even know they were suppose to vote. So she was going to make sure they at least voted for their mom.

I did, too. I guess that she'll be doing post-DWTS interview press tomorrow and will somehow manage to work in that the book came out. LOL.

Kate has said that she jumps on the first flight back to PA as soon as she's finished with her DWTS stuff. She didn't last week, maybe she is this week!

Wow indeed. She is also going to be on Access Hollywood Wednesday night. Billy Bush called it an exclusive interview. He says he asks her questions no one else has asked her before. I can't believe she is going to be on Access and ET the same night. I prefer Access to ET, interested to see what Billy asks her.

When Chad was dancing the other night they were flashing to a man with two little girls in the audience (like they did Shannen's father, Aiden's soap co-stars, etc.) I know NOTHING about Chad, but were the girls his daughters? Nieces? Maybe they were just random cuties, but if not, he had children in the audience cheering for him. Also, I think it was Aiden that had his wife and baby daughter shown on one of the practice clips and of course as someone previously mentioned, Pam talked about her kids not voting.

I wonder if they're not having (at least) the twins in the audience because it seems like it would be incredibly distracting to Kate. Could Kate just sit and watch the other dancers or would she go storming through the stage during someone else's performance to reprimand her children for being squirmy? Could she concentrate on her dancing if the nanny wasn't doing a good enough job keeping the kids in line?
