What is next week's episode supposed to be about? I read J&K are both interviewed for it, separately, but both interviewed, but what is the focus of the show?
The thing that bothered me the most about the gymnastics club is Kate having to be part of it -- my DD does gymnastics (has been doing it really since she was 3) as well as other sports/dance. There's a reason parents aren't part of it -- the kids need to learn to listen to and watch the coach, not their mom. It's an important thing that they learn, along with standing in line, and waiting your turn. Kate just doesn't get it -- I feel sorry for the coach, who tried to explain that that isn't the way things are done. If she's still needing to be the centre of attention at gymnastics, I highly doubt her kids are going to get very much out of it. No wonder Mady wanted to quit when she and Cara did gymnastics when they were younger.
And gymnastics is not something I'd recommend for any kid that doesn't absolutely want to do it -- otherwise it's just play. .
one thing that confused me, for those who watched ... were the comments about the kids swimming so much a jab at Jon? Like that was all he could come up to do with them? I couldn't tell.
I never had the paps outside the gym when my kids went..but you better believe I wouldn't leave my kids if there was a chance they could get in the gym. I thought she stayed aside a bit and didn't interfer. I also thought they all enjoyed themselves and seemed to be paying close attention from what we were shown, to the coaches. Was it mentioned they all didn't want to take gymnastics? I also don't know if she stays each time, or just this time, since the kids were being taped. Maybe they usually don't tape unless she or Jon are there?
I wouldn't let my DD go there if they could, and the gym on the show looked pretty much the same as any gymnastics club I've seen.I read the blogs a bit and it seems the consensus was this was the footage of the hot day the kids wouldn't do what TLC wanted and Jon let them swim instead. That's why they didn't want to play soccer or 'play with dad b/c he is lame'. I didn't see it, but does that sound plausible?
They were just refusing to work that day and TLC/Kate turned it around to make it seem like Jon was well, lame.

I guess this is one of those agree to disagree posts. I don't know if TLC would have taped (and this was a taping time) if Kate or Jon was not there, and people can enter our gym so that might have been a concern of hers. (I thought Kate said something about not having a guard at that time..does she have one now that taping is over?). We do have a viewing area for parents. I have no idea if this one did..but I would never blame any mom that wants to stay near their children, on their first day to a new gym. It's not like Kate got a lot of attention at the gym..they mostly showed the kids, and she didn't seem to be in their pocket, but was standing off to the side. I have no idea if she continued to do that on other visits, or if it was because it was being taped, or it was their first visit. I wouldn't have given it another thought if someone new came to our gym (although it's been several years since I have taken our grands and a lot more since my own kids went to a gym so maybe things have changed) and wanted to be with their children the first time. You'd better bet there's no chance any unauthorized persons could get into our gym. There are people out there who would do a lot worse than take a picture of little kidsI wouldn't let my DD go there if they could, and the gym on the show looked pretty much the same as any gymnastics club I've seen.
IMO, if she really wanted to protect her kids from the paps, she'd have had her bodyguard or some of the crew stand at the door. No, this was all about Kate having to be part of it -- she just didn't get it.
Cause of course Jon would never be, uh lameThey were just refusing to work that day and TLC/Kate turned it around to make it seem like Jon was well, lame.

You're so rightI always have my keys in my hand as I'm going out the door anyway.

I totally agree with you! Having a child who participated in gymnastics, Kate should of abided by the rules. I don't care if it was the child's first time or if she had 20 kids participating (wait, that would be the Dugers) she should of went to the parent waiting area. !

Now, I will say that at first glance, this isn't a good thing. And it isn't. BUT. At the same time, I have to ask if this gives Jon ammunition to sue Kate 2.0?

ETA: And if they were "romantically" involved, this could be construed as a contract for prostitution.

Jon is pleading that he is too famous to get a job:

I'm sorry--did they show a screen shot of the gym rule sfor you to know that she was actually breaking them?
I just posted what my gym does above. It is possible for different gyms to have different rules and it is possible that she was permitted in the gym and was abiding by the rules.
No I didn't see the rules for that particular gym, however, being the parent of a child who participated in gymnastics, there are certain rules that are followed. Like redrose said in her post, the parents aren't allowed on the floor to view the session. There is a parent waiting area with a window that parents can view from. The idea is to have the child focused on the coach and not the parent.
And we attend a competitive gym where exceptions are made at least once a season.
I get what you are saying--however since you do not attend this specific gym, you cannot say for certain that exceptions cannot be made. And my coaches wouldn't care how much money you made or who the heck you were.
And yes, through the reast of the year, our coaches will kick a parent off the floor if they were so gutsy to think they could disobey the rules.

At least Jon spelled his name correctly...do you think this is his copy or Kate 2.0's?
