I knew he'd be fast tonight -- and he sounds perturbed. No surprise there. :lmao:

I dont like his contributor. I don't like the mocking.

It's like--we can be upset when Kate snarks, so we are going to snark a whole bunch.

This statement distrubed me:
Those kids probably couldn't say, spell or even wonder what Korea was.

It really really bugged me. I'm sure Mady and Cara full well know where Korea is since it is part of their heritage and I would say it HIGHLY possible that even the tups do as well--at least if their parents pointed it out on a map, which isn't unlikely given they were planning a trip.

Yeah--snark the parents all you want, but this snark is kid snark and is just tacky!

Like Kate!

ETA: After filtering through the snark, I'm glad I didn't watch the episode. That was too much going on and I wonder how they transitioned through all that. I must have cohesive editing and I cannot envision how that told a proper "story". Ick.

It was all the kids. I actually liked the show. It was mostly about the kids and the rest of the stuff was easy for me to ignore. Just like I do on other shows when I don't like everything. We could stretch out and come down hard on some of the parts, just like the paps do, but hey, I enjoyed it. I like the kids and liked watching them.
then they must have continued with the gymnastics ... because there are pics at radaronline of Kate taking the sextuplets to the studio after dropping Mady and Cara off at the bus.

I only saw a few minutes of the first episode, when they were at the ballgame and Jon was cleaning Joel's knee.

I agree, the birthday party didn't take 44 hours to film, but how many hours was spent on the Good Housekeeping shoot---2 whole days?? I wasn't comparing J & K to TopChef, I just meant that a lot of footage is never even used--that is unless your trying to end a trainwreck which is what I witnessed tonight.

So are you suggesting that the children didn't sleep for nearly 2 full days?

I read the snarky synopsis of the episode--holy cow, I can't even picture how they edited it all to make it look not-choppy.

I'm picking about editing. (Television production degree!) It must be cohesive and I can't picture how it could have been.

Just as an aside (off topic), I wonder why it would take so long to tape Top Chef, unless they are talking about the time it takes to go from hotel to hotel, and do set up etc. beofre the chef's start taping Those chef's must be exhausted by the time they have to cook if they are part of that. Their cooking time is very limited, and I don't think they do retakes. I love that show.

agreed. For as much as I love Z's overall blog .. he's gotten downright nasty in the last few entries about Jon and Kate. The kid comments were uncalled for.

It didn't offend me. She is who she is. She definitely could have been classier about it though. I just cannot get the energy to hate on everything she does. Things that I do hate on are people like the moron who ran through a red light today nearly hitting us because he was too busy texting. That behavior offends me. The actual morons who nearly kill my DH and I on a daily basis because of their selfish stupidity. Not some woman who is bitter about her husband's escapades making their world turn upside down. My comments aren't towards you, just in general.

No worries.

I don't hate her.

Usually I defend her. Families with sick and possibly dying children didn't need to hear that though. Families in that situation need feel good moments. Not other people's drama.

From my perspective. I'm often one to put my foot in my mouth, but even I can avoid that kind of crap when I am doing goodwill for others.

Lisa, I love your comments! I agree with you too. There's a time and a place for things and Kate's filter sometimes isn't working properly.

Dang, where is the Tag Fairy when you need her?? That above comment is priceless!

No orange kittens for me. The person delivering them just called. She's decided to hold onto them. So, I"m ready and will see what kittens I get tomorrow.

I don't think I'll read Z anymore. I thought that was very mean spirited. Made Kate and Jon look like the better people between Z and them.

But there were reports that the birthday party took an entire day to film, since so many things had to be done over and over again to get it right.

IMO, I try to make sure birthday parties don't go over 2 hours -- that's long enough for me :lmao:

either way, the cameras were rolling, people were around ... not a very effective way to save the brand, if we are to believe Kate & TLC were still trying to do that.

I remember reading back at the time of the filming of the OCC episodes, that it was planned for Jon to go visit the people at the bike shop for the show, but it was edited to make it look like he was blowing things off or something to that effect. Of course, that's nothing that was ever proved, but all the pieces of the puzzle at that time fit together for that to be true.

I don't watch that show, but I found it interesting how they opened their season based on their promos. They have much of their own family drama and it was alluded to the fact that the business may be in trouble. Since I don't watch, I can't verifiy.

I thought he did visit the shop actually (could have sworn I saw it on the episode).

But if anytihng was supposed to materialize and did not--too many factors on both sides that leaves that up in the air for me.

I can't imagine it would -- so Kate could probably let them film on her custody days, just not at the house.

Bringing a lawsuit against TLC? I don't think Jon can sue on behalf of his kids -- the children are regarded as individuals under common law in most jurisdictions so they would be the ones suing TLC, and I'm almost certain would both parents would have to allow it, unless Jon gave his permission for them to sue TLC and their mother.

I believe a guardian can bring a lawsuit on behalf of the child.

If at anytime, someone feels an illegal act has occurred, I can't imagine that both parents would have to agree it is illegal.

But I could be mistaken.

ETA: Not having much luck googling that one.

I think it is the set up of the challenges that can take a while. And they often mention that they can sit for hours while the judges debate who is going home and who won. I think it was the episode with Fabio's dinner party that the cheftestants set up a volleyball court with saran wrap to help pass the time. lol.

He did visit, and they showed it.. but there was another visit, or that one was longer, or something. It was one of those things that I read in an obscure place and remember being surprised that it didn't get more exposure. Maybe it turned out to not be true? Who knows? That was months ago. My memory's fuzzy on those details now. :rotfl:

Okay---

There's only 24 hours in a day......

They only filmed when the sun was out......

Just teasing you.:rotfl::rotfl:

Okay so I did remember the one visit.

I was just saying that based on that shows promos, the shop is in trouble and the family is in huge conflict.

I don't know when they film--but that could have also influenced Jon's ability to visit. TLC had too much drama, they didn't need to add more to the mix.:rotfl:

I'm sure the kids don't have to stand for hours while Jon and Kate debate on which coupon should be used.

Ok, now I'm getting myself confused too. I thought the OCC episode was tied into the Ronald McDonald House one since they donated the bikes there. :confused3 I do recall Jon at the OCC store working with the guys because they were pretty funny with him, roughing him up and making fun of his masculinity. For some reason I'm thinking that Kate went with the kids to Ronald McDonald while Jon was with the OCC and then they met up at the house and Kate donated the bikes to Ronald McDonald. :confused3

and in the midst of those episodes, there was something that Jon didn't do (maybe it was the visit to the RM house) and whatever it was I was reading figured out that he couldn't be there because he was with the Tuttles. But they didn't say on the show why Jon wasn't wherever he was supposed to be. And while it was mentioned on the show, it wasn't a BIG HUGE DEAL, but it was just sort of out there left for people to speculate on. It was weird.

Hopefully, that makes some sense. If it doesn't, I apologize and forget I said anything. LOL

Costello: Well then who's on first?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: I mean the fellow's name.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy on first.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The first baseman.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy playing...

Abbott: Who is on first!

Costello: I'm asking YOU who's on first.

Abbott: That's the man's name.

Costello: That's who's name?

Abbott: Yes.
