Wasn't Jon on their show? Not J & K but Orange County Choppers.

Hopefully, that makes some sense. If it doesn't, I apologize and forget I said anything. LOL

I think we are all getting giddy, because the end is almost there. I think we need to meet up somewhere in person..all of us LOL! We'll all bring a part of a show to read, as we remember it, and we'll read all of the parts together and see how it sounds. First a Jon person goes, then a Kate person etc etc.

I'm going on my first Disney cruise in February. It's pretty inexpensive (for a Disney Cruise). Who else can I talk into coming? Or shall we meet afterward at Disney and hiss at each other LOL. Or should we wait until the trial is over so we'll have more to talk about?

I believe a guardian can bring a lawsuit on behalf of the child.

If at anytime, someone feels an illegal act has occurred, I can't imagine that both parents would have to agree it is illegal.

But I could be mistaken.

ETA: Not having much luck googling that one.

Most times when people go to civil court, it's not a question of legality. But going to court is a huge undertaking for the plaintiff -- in most cases they would be responsible for the legal fees of the defendant and court costs if they lost, and could be charged by the court for contempt for various things. IMO, probably needs more authorization than even the TLC contract. And one guardian might suffice if they had full custody, but neither Jon nor Kate has that now.

As for issues of legality, I'm sure it's the same there as it is here -- neither parent needs to give permission if their child wants to press charges against somebody for many offenses (the police can even press charges against the child's wishes in many instances) but a guardian ad litum would be appointed if the parents weren't supportive of the child's wishes.

Costello: Well then who's on first?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: I mean the fellow's name.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy on first.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The first baseman.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy playing...

Abbott: Who is on first!

Costello: I'm asking YOU who's on first.

Abbott: That's the man's name.

Costello: That's who's name?

Abbott: Yes.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: too funny!

I got a call at 12:15. Person who was supposed to take the orange kittens can't. My husband is on his way (thank God she lives close) over to pick them up. So, Garfield eh? I don't know..there are so many of those.

They have to be hand fed, she says, so maybe I can catch up on older J & K's tonight, cause I prob won't leave them to go to bed. Too bad there isn't a girl and a boy..they could be J & K LOL.

Nice that they put a little memorial to the Nana that passed away.

I did see the part at the Ron McDon house. I guess I was expecting something much worse. I really would have taken it to mean that Jon didn't show up..and so she said J & K plus 8 minus Jon. I wouldn't have given it a second thought, if I hadn't read about it here.
Same with the Korea thing. Jon said something about going to Korea, then said Kate put it down wrong..that it was S Korea, and entirely different country. Like she was stupid..and yet he had just said Korea himself. Although why he mentioned it at all if it was supposed to be a secret, I haven't a clue. Although that is another thing I wouldn't have given a second thought if I hadn't read the other thoughts about it here.
They clearly are not meant for each other. It's just like other divorces, no matter what one says, they snark at each other. As they walked out, again, something else must have been said there, because they had Kate do another weird voice over.

It didn't offend me. She is who she is. She definitely could have been classier about it though. I just cannot get the energy to hate on everything she does.

Last night, my general disgust was with TLC more than Kate. Sure, Kate did what she did ... and while some of it was unnecessary, at the same time, TLC chose to go ahead with this "behind the scenes" footage. And really, what was the point of the show? (I know, ratings. Money.... LOL) It certainly didn't reveal anything new or interesting to what's already been going on. If anything, TLC didn't really paint a very flattering picture of Kate, which I think is what it was supposed to do.

I didn't think the RM house thing was as bad as the comment about the dog leash. I think sticking to the script might have been the more appropriate thing to do, but Kate is who she is and doesn't apologize for it. That event was no exception.

The thing at the AAA office was just petty, on BOTH their parts. Petty, but typical of a marriage ending, as Doris said.

I wasn't trying to "bash" Jon for going to Hawaii. That's fine and great. I made a comment about trying to find a better place to eat than a bar every time he goes out. It's great that they allow kids and all but he doesn't set foot in the place unless they serve alcohol? It was just an observation and kind of a gripe....if he's trying to "clean up his image" this wasn't the place for him to be eating lunch or dinner or whatever. Just my .02. :upsidedow

I'm trying really hard to think of restaurants that don't serve alcohol and so far, I'm only coming up with fast food. Can you give us some ideas as to where Jon should choose to eat instead?

I agree. A lot of that stuff should not have aired or at least they could have found some better footage.

one thing that confused me, for those who watched ... were the comments about the kids swimming so much a jab at Jon? Like that was all he could come up to do with them? I couldn't tell.

I don't think Kate's comments about swimming were a jab. She stated that usually when it came down to it the kids wanted to swim more than anything else all summer.

It didn't offend me. She is who she is. She definitely could have been classier about it though. I just cannot get the energy to hate on everything she does. Things that I do hate on are people like the moron who ran through a red light today nearly hitting us because he was too busy texting. That behavior offends me. The actual morons who nearly kill my DH and I on a daily basis because of their selfish stupidity. Not some woman who is bitter about her husband's escapades making their world turn upside down. My comments aren't towards you, just in general.

:thumbsup2

I think the leash comment may have been a TLC idea. Either way, I agree that was not necessary. Although given the behavior of her spouse I totally understand.

I think there were several jabs at Jon last night that were not necessary.

I loved watching the kids at gymnastics and at the ball game. Collin was so darn cute, they have grown so much. I will miss them but am glad they are getting the chance to deal with this in private. Well more private than it was.

Well gals, I think I will take a break from this thread. I will stick my head in every once in awhile though.

I agree! It was a waste of time even watching these episodes. Now I can see why they never aired them before. They were really pathetic. For a woman who several weeks ago was crying on national television about how she didn't have enough money to pay her bills certainly had a change of heart.
Not only did she bash Jon, but TLC did their fair share of making him look incompetant. Of course, they did their fair share of making Kate sound like a smart aleck. I can only imagine what is in store for next weeks episode.

I watched most of the first episode on YouTube this morning. That's the only episode that should have aired last night, IMO. And I thought Jon did a really good job at the baseball game. Whichever boy he was watching with and explaining things to, that was precious. And good for him, letting the kids eat whatever they want... that's what you should do at the ballpark, LOL!

I agree, the first episode was better than the second. But like someone else said, I liked it because it was more about the kids. I just can't get in a tizzy about either Kate or Jon, so the second episode didn't bother me very much either. It is what it is.

No, Tanya, you can't leave :rotfl:..come back here.....you have to follow it to the end with the rest of us!

Honestly, we don't eat out all too much and have never been to Hawaii so I don't even know what his options would have been. My point wasn't that Jon could never eat at a bar - it's just not the best place for him right now if he's trying to make better choices about his life. Maybe pick a place that doesn't have "Bar" in the name...that would be a start. Even not eating out that much, I can tell you we have lots of places around here like that. Several of the "mom and pop" places don't serve alcohol (or if they do it's after a certain time at the places I've been) and the food's way better than a chain place any day (again, never been to Hawaii so I don't know what his options were at the time). If we were talking about where my family used to live, I could name off a number of places that don't serve alcohol that have great food.

And as I said earlier, have some manners and tell the pretty girls you're trying to eat and not posing for more pictures. I stand by my theroey that if he's trying to "clean up his act" he should not be seen at bars drinking and taking pictures with girls even if it is innocent at this point. There's been way too much press about all that recently and if I had a court hearing staring me in the face, the last place I would be is out at the bar. Maybe some community service perhaps???

It's just getting frustrating with the "games" at this point and trying to say one thing and do another from both Jon and Kate. I agree that sometimes I give Kate more of a pass than Jon - maybe because Jon's been way more boneheaded publically than Kate recently.

I ended up with two puzzling thoughts about the gymnastics. There were 2 or 3 that really wanted to do them, so that meant everyone had to participate? Great. :rolleyes1

The second was if Kate has such issues about the paps, if it was me, when I came out to get in my vehicle with 8 children, you can be darn sure I'd have the keys in my hand to get the door unlocked. :drive:

You're so right :thumbsup2 I always have my keys in my hand as I'm going out the door anyway. :drive:

The thing that bothered me the most about the gymnastics club is Kate having to be part of it -- my DD does gymnastics (has been doing it really since she was 3) as well as other sports/dance. There's a reason parents aren't part of it -- the kids need to learn to listen to and watch the coach, not their mom. It's an important thing that they learn, along with standing in line, and waiting your turn. Kate just doesn't get it -- I feel sorry for the coach, who tried to explain that that isn't the way things are done. If she's still needing to be the centre of attention at gymnastics, I highly doubt her kids are going to get very much out of it. No wonder Mady wanted to quit when she and Cara did gymnastics when they were younger. :sad2:

And gymnastics is not something I'd recommend for any kid that doesn't absolutely want to do it -- otherwise it's just play. Much cheaper to take them to a playground.
