That photo was not taken from a tree, it was taken by a tall guy. There were several other photos at different angles around the table. That's the only one I linked. I am sure they will all surface somewhere at some point.

Well, then this guy has to be about a foot taller than Jon for that camera angle.

Thanks. Didn't they turn 5 this year though? Should they go to 1st grade next year?

the Pennsylvania posters will know better than me, but a quick google search shows that Kindergarten is not required in the state of Pennsylvania... so they could go to K or 1st grade next year.

Thanks, I goggled and got conflicting info. It is such a new concept to me. We have preschool, K, then first grade. Most pay to go to Preschool.

Sorry for bothering you guys.

no bother at all!

what I think you'll find about preschool and kindergarten is that it's very different all over the country. no every state requires children to attend Kindergarten, public & private preschools, etc.

someone from PA will have a much clearer picture about their state guidelines, I'm sure!

That's what I thought too.

No bother at all. When the tups' started school, there was a lot of discussion about the choice they made for them, since they were old enough to attend school full time. But schooling is apparently optional there until they are 8. This is pretty strange to me, because here all children must be enrolled full time if they turn 5 before Dec. 31st -- and IMO it's the most important year since they learn to read and write and start math that year. By the time they're 8, they're starting division, so there's no way they'd ever catch up to their peers.

IMO, schooling is a huge issue for this family -- with 8 kids in private school it must be one of their biggest expenses. And I have to wonder if they chose private school so that the kids could miss more time to do the show.

But, I have been away for 4 days and have not caught up yet.

But.. there is some program you can buy at I think radio shack. for 210 dollars. that you load onto the computer . And everytime The other person logs on in this case kate. a report is sent to person number 2 detailing every single thing they have done on the computer. including the supply of ANY passwords they used while on the computer.
It's a syware program. that when you buy it they tell you it's illegal to use in a way to seek informtion.
MY gf suspected her hubby of cheating bought the program and has been using it for over a year. every time he logs on at the office she gets a detailed report. including his passwords. he changes the password and beep she gets the new one 2 minutes later. he has absolutely no idea it's there.

Wow! That is odd.

And I was horrified at Kate throwing the twins stuff down the stairs. Things were hitting the walls at times, surely damaging the paint.

I was glad the kids got to pick out their own shoes. Could not believe that was a first for them! But the "fans" outside were a bit much.

People reported that they are in Junior Kindergarten this year which is 3 days a week and will go to Kindergarten next year. The reason that was given is because they were preemies. :confused3 If that's the case and they have delays because of their premature birth, why weren't they getting services through Early Intervention program (birth-3) or the Early Childhood program (ages 3-5) in PA? If they have delays, it would have been much better to address them early on than to wait until they turned 5yo.

Once again, I think he is right about everything.

And I pulled this from the comments on the article:
Great review, as usual. You're right. First day of school is a biggie and it ended up being all about Kate. Did you catch that she made lunches for the little kids and didn't even know that they don't need a packed lunch at school? That wasn't funny: it was sad that she didn't even take the time to know the kids' schedules. If this is indeed the last season and Kate + 8 is DOA, I can't imagine why TLC pursues a relationship with this woman. What talent does she have? As far as I can see, her image has been manufactured. Please publish the ratings for last night's show when you have them and any info if the advertisers are pulling out. Looks like last night was just a commercial for Stride Rite. Thanks.

I also agree with this comment. The fact that she didn't know the kids' schedules for their first day of school bothers me more the more I think about it. And Kate just thought it was soooo funny -- that bothers me too. :sad2:

I was glad the kids got to pick out their own shoes. Could not believe that was a first for them! But the "fans" outside were a bit much.

That was ridiculous with all those people standing outside.

I thought it was hilarious when Mady was talking about how the little kids used to be little things in diapers and now were big things going on the bus. :rotfl: Oh yeah, and how when they were at school, saw Cara in her classroom and all the little kids shouted "CARA!". Loved how Kate said all the other teachers had to close their doors. :rotfl:

the photos are back on radar. So you still think these were taken from a tree?

I just watched the last 2/3 of the show on YouTube (I intentionally chose to skip the part at the shoe store. LOL) and agree with the article as well.

Kate did manage to take the kids' first day of school and make it all about her... doing everything alone, with the paparazzi along for the ride. Has she mentioned the paparazzi in every episode? Why? If she doesn't like them, them don't give them any credit. :confused3 And the actual paparazzi video at the school bus stop was ridiculous. TLC takes the high road and doesn't shoot at the bus stop, but they'll buy paparazzi video to use on the show. that's hysterical. :rotfl: :lmao:

The thing with the clothes, now that I've seen it .. was strange. Kate hadn't been in the girl's rooms in a while? She didn't know what was going on up there? And then .. she just went in there and started throwing their things away? Trash, I can understand. (Well ... actually, I can't. I would have made them clean their rooms when they got home .. but that's just me. LOL) But the other things? If she doesn't go up there, how does she know if something thrown away is important to Mady or Cara? I just don't get that at all.

And the promos, I think, are just for milking the last of "Jon and Kate Plus 8". We'll see if there's anything more to it than that.

The saddest part of the show for me was listening to Kate talk to the 6 about avoiding (can't remember the exact word she used) the paparazzi, making it a successful day. A successful day at school, to me, would have been new friends, the classroom, meeting the teachers, etc. But again, that's just me.

that was the cutest part of the episode, I thought.

I think for me and how I feel about Jon doing interviews is, he has made it quite clear he wants out. And now he says he wants the kids out. IMO, if he really felt that way, he would stop bringing himself and them to the attention of the press. Kate has never said she wants out. Jon, in his interviews seems to want to be friends with the paps..I never got that vibe from Kate.

Personally, I'd like to see them both shut up, but since Kate is actively pursing a TV career, and doesn't try to pretend she isn't, that's why I see it differently.

I think Jon is in a no-win situation with A LOT of people right now. If he gets paid to do interviews, he's a jerk. If he isn't making any money, he's a dead beat dad who wants to live off his kids' trust fund.

Does anybody seriously think he could come up with the kind of money he needs to show he can earn within a couple of weeks any other way than doing interviews? I would prefer to see Jon get a regular job, or go back to school, because I think that would set a good example for the kids. But I'm the first to admit that things like that don't just happen overnight, especially in this economy.

If I was making this up, it would have a much better ending! popcorn::

 Me too.

That was ridiculous with all those people standing outside.

I couldn't believe all the fans outside either, that was crazy. I think I would continue to shop online if I had to face that.

I loved the story of Cara and the little kids, too funny. I can just picture the scene. :rotfl: I thought Kate should have had the girls clean the room themselves but maybe she needed a distraction with all the kids gone.

I can cut Kate some slack for not remembering lunch was going to be at home that day. Given everything that is going on in their lives right now it would be hard to remember your name, in my opinion. Not as bad as Jon asking the paps what time the kids get off the bus.

I don't necessarily think that all of the pictures are from the same source. We have no proof whatsoever that Jon sold these pictures but yet many people here assume that he did.

That picture could have easily been taken from several hundred feet away with a high powered lens. It's not a nice sharp photo..could have been blown up with a lens.

It doesn't look posed to me. I wonder if the pap might have found a new angle to take pictures from.

I never saw J & K's bedroom at the old house but I know she said their room was off limits to the kids in the new house.

There were two that I remember. One was where Jon has to bring Kate coffee in bed because she's not a morning person and the other was when they were answering questions that fans had emailed them.

I didn't watch the show tonight, but this was taped weeks ago and I bet the Kate rule about not filming at the bus stop was a voice over due to all the papparazzi hanging out there. I bet other parents complained about the nonsense going on at the bus stop and maybe the school/bus company contacted TLC or the Gosselins and told them no taping at the busstop or school. If their weren't complaints, you bet TLC would of taped getting on the bus in the parking lot, getting off the bus at the school, reboarding the bus at school to the parking lot, etc.....

I don't think that Kate, TLC, parents, bus company, school... can say what can and cannot be taped in the public parking lot. If they want this to be avoided, they could easily bring the children to school themselves instead of having them ride a bus.

It's also very disingenuous to say that TLC can't film at the bus stop but then buy a tape from one of the P people and use it in the show.
