The View is featuring hot Halloween costumes right now. The guest doing the segment is editor in chief of PinkMemo.com, Katrina something who is dressed as Kate.

Octomom is pretty funny too. :rotfl:

It doesn't help when J & K go on these talk shows and reveal information that should be kept private. It seems like during the birthday party yesterday, Jon comes outside and goes to the fence to sign autographs on 2 womens shirts and a hat?? I hope they have a surveilance camera as who is to say some nut is not going to jump the fence and peak in the house windows!

Someone is paying these papparazzi to hang out there. They know where and when to be at the right time.

The whole school bus issue could be solved if they just drove the girls to school. I know they are entitled to ride the bus, but it would be so much easier on the girls. My friend drives her daughter to school due to a bully on her bus. The school would not let the cameras on there property and this could all be avoided.

Kate ignores the paps at the bus stop, but she was smiling and waving to them when she was in NY for her appearances!! So....Limelight or fade away???

I agree - it's weird the Jon just happens to know when there are people at the fence - although I'm sure there is probably always someone there! And why would you want Jon to sign your shirt or hat? It's not like you could sell it and make money on it could you???? I did a quick ebay search and it didn't bring up anything.

I also agree that someone could be driving the kids to school to avoid the paps or ask if they could go to another bus stop or something so they don't have such a predictable routine. Maybe a friend lives nearby if J&K or the nanny couldn't drop/pick them up?

I like the Kate ignores them when the kids are around. The pictures I've seen (and I'm sure I haven't seen all of them!) look more like Kate's waving her hand to either shield her face or brush them off - not so much waving at the paps. And with her smile, it's a darned if you do, darned if you don't....if she's not smiling why isn't she happy? If she is smiling, why does she enjoy it so much? I would like to think she's allowed to smile during the day. I'd hope I'd put a perma-grin on if I were in the situation. If they're snapping away, I might as well make it interesting right? :goodvibes

I've wondered about the whole bus thing too, but it could be something that the kids enjoy. I don't know why, but I loved the bus when I was that age. My favorite part of the school day was being on the bus with my friends. I wish the paps would leave them alone at the bus stop. Just leave the kids alone.

Although, maybe they could drive them to school directly for a couple of weeks until the pas go away and then they can ride the bus again.

This is sad coming from a rag mag:

I've been getting a lot of emails from readers lately asking when the non-stop coverage of Jon and Kate Gosselin will come to an end.

I'll be honest—I don't have an answer for ya...

You see, stories about the train wreck reality stars do really well around here, and over at the entertainment news shows and celebrity rags. I promise you if they didn't, we wouldn't be covering them.

I know what you're thinking: the media created them. I agree—somewhat. Sure we all had a hand in making them bigger than they probably had to be, but that's in the past now.

You want the Gosselin hysteria to go away? You know what you have to do. Just stop paying attention to the stories about them, and I promise you the Gosselins will go away.

This is so true. We are all feeding into this frenzy. The last few days have actually made me nauseous. Those girls had their birthday turned into a freak show. And by reading the sites, viewing the pictures , buying the magazines & watching the shows, we're condoning the maddness. The J&K 8 tv show ratings may be down, but I bet the ratings for the rag-mag tv shows are up quite a bit. As others have said, it might be better for the kids to just do their tv show instead of this papparazzi madness. At least they were comfortable with those crews & probably were not as physically intimidated by their own crew. (No, I don't think they should really continue the show!).:flower3:

I can't imagine how the girls can even concentrate at school. They probably start to think about what is waiting for them at the bus stop as dismissal gets close.

While I feel for the kids, I also think their behavior as shown on the last 2 shows is getting a bit much. I don't know if it just acting out in reaction to the divorce ; reaction to the entitlement & special treatment they get due to the show or normal age behavior. I just know there seems to be more yelling, fights & rude behavior then there used to be. Not pleasant viewing. If TLC is showing us the best behavior, it must be pretty bad in that house.

I'm sure I'll still be reading this site, but I will try to resist the urge to click on links to the rag sites. Just my small way to try & not feed the monster. Maybe some other celebrity will melt down or be caught in a big scandal & these kids can go to the back page for awhile.

I think that for the sake of the children, they should stop riding the bus and be brought to and picked up from school every day. This way, they wouldn't have cameras shoved in their faces and have to worry about what they say or don't say.

If they have to drive them to the parking lot, is it really necessary to park so far away? Why can't they pull up closer to the bus and not give the paps so much time to shoot?

I can't get past watches for 9 year olds?? Really?? I hate wearing my wedding ring anywhere because I know how much we paid for that and I would hate to loose it and have to replace it. A 9 year old is bound to misplace a watch. (I'm sure they have whatever they want so it makes the gift shopping hard but a watch for a kid???)

I definitely think the girls would love Swatch watches. They are just so cool. I have 4 of them. Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter...I change them up. Just absolutely love Swatch. They make a nice watch. Little girls LOVE wearing jewelry/watches/bracelets on their wrists. Everyone notices wrist jewelry. Swatch makes a wonderful young girls line of watches. :goodvibes In NYC they have two fab Swatch watch stores and the girls may have seen the stores and asked Jon for watches for their pending bdays!!! I would not compare a young girls Swatch watch to you losing your wedding ring....big difference.

If Jon bought an ATV for Kara, he and the dealership - salesperson broke the law. The law went into effect January 1, 2009. Nationwide. This isn't just an individual state law.

You cannot buy an ATV for anyone under the age of 16. Why? Because there is lead in the spark plug. I'm not kidding. No dealership can sell an ATV to anyone stated that it is for their child to ride. Plus Kara is suppose to be 12 years old, to ride legally also. Kara is suppose to take an ATV safety class at the age of 12.

Of course they can ride the ATV on their land, but if she would have an accident, no insurance would cover her. I'm hoping this isn't true.

Many families are buying "used" ATV's from individuals now in Moto-cross. Dealerships will not sell them, they don't want the liability either.

Well I am glad you posted this Mari, because I think they are very dangerous. :sad2:

ITA, why don't J&K get those girls a car service that picks them up at the DOOR of their house and brings them back, right to the DOOR!! :thumbsup2

Exactly, I was disgusted with Radar this morning because they had a story up about what a bad day Jon had yesterda:rotfl: WHAT? Excuse Me? That in no way shape or form happened. I am done with them.

I'm just curious, how do any of us really know what has been going on? Unless we're Jon, Kate or one of the children, what we know is based on what we read or hear in the media. None of which is 100% accurate.

I can see Kate or Jon driving them for a couple weeks, due to the frenzy, but a car service? I don't know about that. I don't think Cara and Mady would like that at all and for the sextuplets, they would need what, 2 or 3 cars? I can just see them pulling into the school. Cara and Mady probably want to ride the bus with their friends, it would be a shame if they couldn't do that. Another thing that makes them different.

I was thinking more in the lines of just the Twins. They have to find that absolutely ANNOYING having those PAP idiots lined up like maniacs day after day taking their picture. IDIOTS. :headache: :headache:

A very interesting article by Rabbi Schmuley. Yes, he used to be on TLC himself, but he doesn't pull any punches in his criticism of them, Jon or Kate:
http://blog.beliefnet.com/rabbishmuleyunleashed/2009/10/children-who-grow-up-on-stage.html

In it he agrees with most of us, that the kids should be off TV at least for the time being. He also discloses that he counseled Jon to get them off TV.

Finally, a link we won't mind clicking on today. :goodvibes

I agree, very good article. Lets hope J & K read it and take his advice!

We don't, which is the point I was trying to make. The media can take a story and stretch, twist, manipulate or flat out lie about what happened to make it look how they want.

From the example I gave, we can figure out that Radar saying Jon was almost banned from his daughter's birthday is really stretching or twisting the story. He wasn't almost banned from anything according to Jon's own words.

For his part Jon says that he planned to pull his kids from the show way before TLC took their action and that his only consideration was the welfare of his kids.

My response: who cares? Does it matter what the motive is. Get the kids off the show.

*****************************

To me--this is the one point where I disagree with the rabbi. I said all along that I didn't trust Jon's motives and to the pro-Jon side, they said who cares, he's doing what needs to be done.

Only to turn around in a little over a week and put his kids in front of cameras to show what a good dad he is.

He's not interested in their welfare and thus not capable of saying "pull the plug". For he will be lurking around for the next camera to plug in to display more of his children's misery.

Motive is very important to know if a person is making a good choice. The choice isn't good if it is being replaced with something else just as unhealthy if not more uhealthy.

Rabbi falls short on that. Given the date of his article, it is a shame that he makes no mention of yesterday's debacle.

Jon's got plans allright. They don't include TLC, but I'd wager that the include television.

Jon and Kate are both guilty of this ... at least Kate has been honest by saying she wants a career in TV. Jon claims to want out of it, but continues to put himself out there

Unfortunately, neither of them have a career without the children, IMO. Which means that the children will continue to be the supporting cast to this sad, sad story.

True enough---I was just pointing out that I disagreed with that one bit that the Rabbi published.

Jon's motives are very important.

Someone doing something to look good--or to do what is right. I happen to think it is the former and not the latter.

Kate of course hasn't wanted to pull her kids--but Jon is far from virtuous in his decision.

Hey, Lora! .. did you have a good trip?

We had a great time! :thumbsup2 Hope you did too.

Did you say you saw Paula Deen at MK last Friday? We were there that day too, maybe we passed by each other. :)
