Wow -- Kate's PR people are very good and I think she did a great job of covering the talking points (even the ones where she admitted to draining the bank account herself, because they knew that would be brought up by Team Jon if they hadn't admitted to it first)
So, here's my summary:
Kate says he withdrew $230,000 from the bank account between Aug. 10th and Sept. 29th -- not the day of LKL as her lawyer and the tabloids would have us believe -- so I guess that means he withdrew no money before that. If this is a joint account that they both had access to, perhaps this was where his bills were to have been paid from as well since Kate has control of all of the other accounts and Jon has no access to them. Weird how the timing worked out -- so convenient that this bombshell was dropped just days after the LKL interview when they have known there was money being withdrawn for almost 2 months -- could they not have quietly asked the arbitrator to do something at the beginning of Sept. if Jon was not authorized to pay his own bills with this money?
Kate admits to taking $100,000 out before she filed for divorce, and to draining the bank account herself after the arbitrator took over, but put the money back when the arbitrator demanded that she do so. Funny, Team Jon never brought this to the attention of the press, although they did bring up the missing $100,000 which was found hidden in the house.
Kate says she never wanted to be talking about this issue in the media, was surprised when she found out about this bombshell (Huh? it was her lawyer's office that released the letter to the media)
Kate says the kids were wailing when they found out they would not be seeing the crew, would not be doing events --

well, if that's what she told them no wonder they were wailing. How about being a good parent and telling them that they won't be doing events with the cameras but they'll have time for playdates with friends, won't be missing any school, will have more time to just be a family, and that you're sure the kids will see the crew from time to time?
Jon's lawyer is now saying that Jon only withdrew $170,000 from the account. That seems like a lot of money to me, but we don't know how much was supposed to be in there -- Kate never said. If they normally kept $500,000 in this account, and Jon had made no withdrawals until Aug. 10th, perhaps he didn't know his withdrawals would drain the bank account. Since Kate is in charge of the banking, it is highly likely that he would not have known the balance in the account. Having said that, I really hope Jon does not do an interview to explain his side of things -- a statement from the lawyer would be sufficient, including the ruling from the arbitrator.
