Cynical of me, I know, but I wondered whether they decided to take Cara to the doctor to get her off the set, because she was getting upset at everything.

And how late were those kids up that night? It was dark out when Cara went for xrays, and they were all awake. Seems kind of late for 5 yo's to be up :confused3

It's been dark here by 7:30 since the beginning of September.

I think it was 8:30 when Kate was taking her in to get the xray. But I might have dreamed that.

My children are always up late, usually they go to bed around 10ish. Does that make me a bad mother, probably is some people eyes. Do I care what others think....ummmm no.
I am their mother. I like the show. I enjoy watching it. I think Kate is a great mother. More than I could ever say about Jon.

Wow -- what a difference a time zone makes! The sun was setting at 7:30 last night when we were on the highway. At the beginning of September, it wasn't completely dark until closer to 9 pm.

8:30 seems late to me -- my DD has to be sleeping around 9 pm or we'd never be able to get her up at 8 am :lmao: She's a pretty active girl and she needs her sleep (or we all have a miserable morning)

What are some great mother things she has done? Gotten rid of her kids' dogs; Christmas presents she got for them? Choosing to film rather than take Cara to the doctor for her foot that hurt for 2 weeks? Trashing their father on TV and rag mags repeatedly? That's just from this week :).

I know lots of great mothers. Kate is not one of them.

Did Kate really tell Cara that it was a good thing she didn't need a cast b/c they didn't have time for that?

last week's (9/14) episode of JK8 was not in the top 25 and had approximately 1.78 million viewers.

last night's (9/21) episode of JK8 had approximately 1.71 million viewers.

those are lower (IIRC) than the episodes that were airing before the tabloids started sniffing around.

Last night I was sick in bed and Access Hollywood came on. That's not a show I usually watch, but I was literally too weak to find the remote to change the channel. Anyway, they did a poll of something like, "Who would watch Kate Gosselin's new talk show?"

84% of the voters said, "Hell No! Gosselins, go away!"

Interesting.

Against my better judgment I watched the farm episode yesterday. My thoughts, very, very scripted. First of all your child has an injured foot for 2 weeks and on a night of filming--game night--its necessary to take Cara to the dr. for her foot--most unrealistic was having a 2 wk old injury xrayed that night. Even if she did break it, which after 2 wks would of been half healed, they wouldn't of put a cast on that night. You really think an orthopedic dr. is going to come in at 9PM at night to take care of a 2 week old injury?? Not happening!!! They must have signed and notarized copies of consent for treatment for the nanny to take the child for medical treatment--especially non emergency.

I'm very surprised at the vegetable stand with the way the kids were touching everything and carrying it around only to not buy it. It seemed to me like it was their first time there. Also, the amish don't like to be filmed at all--maybe he was paid for appearing--also I don't know when it was filmed but he didn't have a lot of stuff available for sale??

When they stopped at the playground (which I remember from previous episodes) I had to laugh when Kate said, I usually play with them but its too hot! When did you play with them Kate?? I seriously don't remember that ever happening. I don't know how long they were there as the filming seemed to take 2 minutes.

From the outbursts to the bad behavior of the kids, I think the divorce is really affecting them. Just seems so different without Jon there being bossed around--do this, do that!!! I also thought it was strange how Kate kept saying about all the cooking she does and I'm thinking but your not there to cook?? Just too bad that these kids have to go through this!

they filmed the day on the farm on September 3 :)

Thanks! OK, so post-production/editing takes a couple of weeks and TLC doesn't always show episodes in the order they are filmed. Is that safe to assume? :)

But they don't have a nanny! Just baby-sitters and occasional help.:rotfl:

What irritates me about Kate is her tendency to speak in absolutes (e.g. "We will never have a nanny!") and to exaggerate (e.g."We never eat fast food!") Note: I'm not excusing Jon on this, but all I tend to remember of his statements is "mumble, mumble" while Kate's statements stick in my mind.

Making these exaggerated claims leaves her open to criticism. Anyway, would it really destroy the *brand* to admit that they have more help than the occasional baby sitter and that the kids have actually eaten non-organic take-out pizza and perhaps even, gasp, Doritos?

I, for one, would be happy to hear that the kids have a properly trained full-time nanny in residence right now to ensure some stability and security. As the sleuths here have noted, neither parent was home last weekend (Jon in Buffalo and Kate filming her pilot) and the parents are switching in and out of the home. Keeping up with the kids' schedules and needs must be really hard. Taking children to the doctor and being empowered to act in loco parentis is well within a Nanny's job description. As most full-time nannies draw the line at working more than 60 hours a week, they would probably still need a few trusted baby-sitters to help out.

I dont really pay much attention to this family, but just read (maybe old news) that they have gotten rid of their dogs. I think this is just sad and wrong - not to mention selfish (however does not seem to be out of character for this family). I feel for thier kids, and I feel for their dogs. Sad commentary on our throw-away lifestyle these days. :sad2:

How do we know this? Link? The Radar link doesn't say anything about who that is, unless I'm missing something. I still think it looks like Stephanie.

Yup - she definitely looks like her. But when you look at pics of Stephanie there is a definite difference. When radar first showed the pics we all went into a frenzy figuring that one out!:rotfl:

It was on the counter when she was serving the food.

Interesting....:rolleyes1

She went to the markets "sometimes twice a day" when the kids were small. How she did that I don't know, unless she had a not a nanny back then that we don't know about.

Well - I don't think even TLC could get that Amish farmer to lie. I know when I needed to escape from the house when my two were little I'd tell my dh I had to nip out to the store...maybe Henry was Kate's excuse to run away. Not-a-nanny Ashley has been working for them for a few summers apparently....

Don't worry about the kids .. Kate said they don't really miss the dogs much.

Kate made the statement right before taking Cara that it was 8:20 something. Seems late for that age to me as well but maybe that isn't the usual time they go to bed.

I certainly wouldn't say that Kate has trashed Jon. Saying he was behaving like a 15 year old or that aliens have abducted him is fairly mild. I think Kate and Jon are both good parents that have and are making plenty of mistakes. Hopefully, they will both learn from them and strive to do better.

We don't know that Kate never played with her kids. She doesn't need to entertain them at the park when they each have 7 siblings to play with. I think these days she does "usually" play with them. I agree that the divorce is affecting them based on Cara's behavior alone.

was it a school night?

my DD is 7, and at 8:20, we've had baths, teeth brushed, and getting ready to read before bedtime.

Hmmm... lets see for starters carrying those 8 babies and being in the hospital for months. Taking care of them, loving them, playing with them, taking them places.
Her kids dogs.....:lmao: it seems like you all are more upset than the kids are. They took the dogs back to the breeder, it happens all the time. Parents get pets for their kids for Christmas and they can't handle them so they get rid of them.
Do you have children? I do and I surely don't run them to the Dr for every little sniffle or complaint they have. :confused3
I haven't seen her trash talk JON. I have seen it the other way though.

People in glass houses should not throw stones. ;)

I don't really know, it seemed like they spent a lot of time at the Amish farm and then the park. Maybe it was the weekend or maybe it was after school.

WOW it sounds like alot of you point out so much Kate does "wrong" that maybe you all should write a parenting book. just sayin'

This is new (at least to me...)
From the main page of the gosselin website:
Please Note: Hailey Glassman doesn't have a facebook account at all.
Her official twitter account is HaileyGlassman1 and Jon's is JonGosselin1

I didn't notice that info about the twitter acct. when I went to the website the other day. So now Jon is advertising info for the girlfriend on the site. Wonder how long that will last before it gets removed.
