Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

Just had to add,
Those pictures with the article...could they have been taken off-property? Some are quite sharp and look as though the photographer was on the driveway with Jon. It's not possible he was that bitter/vengeful. How cruel to invite the paps to watch this just so he could blame K for something else. Wow - that's mean! I know this divorce is nasty....

I thought the same thing. I think Jon has been inviting some of the "P" people on the property. There was another set of photos recently that made me think that they had to be taken on the property, not by the fence.

I read an article recently - I think I posted it here - that said Jon "hired" one of the paps as his head of "security". If he's friends with the paps, he may be getting a cut of the pictures - another way for him to make some money. Not saying it's right, just saying....

ETA: They (the paps) would have to know if they were being invited to "the other side" and have the right lenses. Those big lenses they use from the road wouldn't work standing that close - they'd need a more "normal" lens. I meant to post that earlier and maybe one of the other photo buffs (madge and DMRick I think) know more about that than I would. I'm too new to photography but know that if I put my "zoom" lens on my camera, I can't take pictures close to me without switching it.

So even as late as when they got the dogs..they were obviously still going to be living together. Did they get the dogs around christmas time?

I don't think Jon would have got the dogs if he was thinking of shacking up in a new york pad....but maybe they were "apart" at the time they got the dogs..but prepared to live "together"..for the show or whatever..until the scandal broke with Jons behaviour.

I don't know...its strange...who buys a v expensive new house and two dogs when you are on the verge of divorce?:confused3

I dunno. Maybe 2 people who make their living from having a reality show about having 8 kids. :rolleyes1

Oh my gosh, those poor kids....to have their pets taken from them while they are trying to adjust to mommy & daddy not living together anymore....all the money that family has and they couldn't have paid someone to take care of the dogs?? I really don't believe that Kate spends all that much time home alone with just her and the kids, I'm sure there is almost always hired help there.

This story just keeps getting sadder and sadder....I hope and pray those children are in counseling. :sad2:

ITA w/you! :sad2:

Just saw a clip for Showbiz Tonight on CNN. AJ Hammer is going to be interviewing Kate Major on the show tonight for some reason, the clip showed AJ asking her if she still loves Jon and she says "No, I despise him." :rotfl:

why do some of you seem to think that Jon is responsible for the dogs, why should he have to make sure that they are taken care of. Kate made the announcement that they were getting the dogs. she was there when they bought them. The same rules apply to Kate as they do with Jon. You all say that Jon wasn't forced to have all of those kids and Kate wasn't forced to buy the dogs. Wow. I just don't get it. They both should be thrown not the catagory of really bad parents. Neither one is thinking about the kids. Maybe Kate should have refuse to buy the dogs. but she didn't, now they are her responsibility too.

If Jon is leasing a luxury condominium in New York City, it would be very rare for the landlord to allow him to keep two large dogs on the premises. Most landlords here would allow one dog under 35 pounds, if that. Also, it would be unfair to keep 2 young dogs cooped up in an apartment all day.

I assume that Kate agreed to get the dogs because they moved to a large house with alot of land. I guess she thought it would make the kids happy. I did see the episodes leading up to the adoption and them picking out the dogs at the breeders. I don't remember them being Jon's dogs, but that's reality TV for you.

So, I guess the only two beings Jon and Kate unanimously agreed on having were Mady and Cara? Sad.

the more I think about this, the more I think it's time for Jon to step up and do the right thing by his kids (IMO he has some things to make up for). There's no reason he can't have 2 big dogs in NYC in a 2 bdrm apt. -- many people do it -- even if he has to change apartments, since he is only leasing it. He can take the dogs back and forth since he now has a new SUV, he can hire a dog-walker if he has to. He did say he was lonely without the kids. So what if it cramps his bachelor lifestyle? JMHO he's not really a bachelor

See? We do agree on some things.:goodvibes

We must be right about this.

I don't know about everybody else, but I think Jon should take responsibility for the dogs because I think Kate will be happy to be rid of them.

There may be an agreement with the breeder about how the dogs live. But I do agree with you..if he wants to keep them so badly, he could take them to NY. But, is that fair to two large dogs, when Jon is gone so much?

I don't think Jon is any more responsible for getting them than Kate (although at the time, we wondered how he was able to get her to agree to dogs, and looking back, some think that was part of the things she said she did to try to make him happy. But who knows why they got two large dogs for sure). However, if he is bitter with Kate that they are being returned to the breeder and he wants to keep them, he needs to figure out how to make that happen.

And maybe Kate realized the dogs were too much and not being taken care of properly so she told Jon they would be better off in another home or back with the breeders.

I think Jon is responsible now because he is the one who is mad and is the one wants to keep them. We don't know anything about this. Maybe something happened, maybe one of the dogs nipped at one of the kids or maybe one of the kids accidently hurt one of the dogs and Kate said they needed to go, maybe Kate just said "I can't take care of 8 kids and 2 big dogs." Jon himself said the kids had to be supervised around the dogs. I'm sure Kate didn't say specifically say the dogs had to go back to the breeders, Jon had other options, seems like he made the final decision.

I feel like Jon is playing games. Maybe Jon not picking up after the dogs was one of Kate's complaints about putting the house back together when she is home. We've seen plenty of photos of her brushing the dogs. Maybe he is the one not taking care of them and he's playing this game tomake her look bad.

If he really wanted to keep the dogs he could. He probably doesn't want to take care of them either since it is so exhausting for him to be home in PA.

Well, it's not like he has a real job and actually has to leave his apartment except to see his kids. :confused3

Sorry -- feeling catty today -- I'm fed up with the Gosselins this week (first Kate's spiel about her kids talking about divorce and now Jon packing up the dogs) Real people act more responsibly towards their children. It's almost like I expect them both to do the wrong thing at every turn. :sad2:

Jon needs to stop asking advice from Hailey, his PR people and everybody else. He'd do better just to consult this thread every day before he does everything, and I would be perfectly content if I felt like at least one parent was putting their kids first right now. I'd send him an invitation to the thread, but I'm too shy. :lmao: I gave up on Kate the other day when she confirmed that she's all about the show, not willing to even consider that there might be another way to live. With Jon we might still have a chance -- he needs help bad, and probably knows it.

I know it was discussed how Jon has an apartment in NYC,
but I have a feeling he is spending as much money as he can before the divorce.
If he really wanted the dogs,
he would be living near the kids.
Heck, they have so much acreage, he should build something on the other side of his land.
I love watching the Kardashian show with the sisters,
they are Bruce Jenner's step-daughters.
Anyways, one of the dd's thought she wanted to live in NYC.
Her mom didn't want her to live alone, but she thought better and went to look for an apartment.
The realtor started showing her places and Kloe said she wanted to pay around 2500 a month.
The realtor started showing her nice places and it was $25,000 a month.
Kloe said the realtor misunderstood her, she meant $2500.
So the realtor showed her a few places for $2500 and it wasn't pretty.
So, why is Jon spending all that money to rent to Manhattan.
If it's been 3 months, that would be almost $75,000 he has blown
on a stupid apartment 3 hours away.

Nothing is ever Kate's fault and it's always Jon's fault. (I however think they are equally awful, just in different ways). Kate got the dogs b/c it was on the show. They were free so she picked them out and their names too, if I remember correctly. BUT they are no question, Jon's dogs. They love him, and Kate has barely tolerated them from what has been shown. They nor the kids have been properly trained to be around each other, and they may be better off with another family. (kids, dogs you decide). The dogs will only be cared for when Jon is not there if Kate pays for it ...she controls the money remember, or if it is donated for free. I'm not sure why they can't stay at the house with the kids.

It will be a tough loss for the kids, but it's no surprise that the kids needs aren't top priority.

I have 1/2 as many dogs, and less than 1/2 as many kids as the Gosselins, and I will freely admit that I curse "Rover" every time I have to vaccuum or pick up the yard. I can understand not wanting the hassle of a dog, but the timing is just so unfair for those kids.

There is enough money that either one of them could ensure that the dogs stay & are cared for and trained. Since neither of them did, I think Kate & Jon are equally at fault. In the end, though, the only winners here are the dogs.

They say Paula has been searching for 5 yrs for someone to do a talk show with--why she would pick Kate is beyond my wildest dreams. Actually they seem like 2 opposites. I think Paula would be better paired with Jon. The recipes I have seen Paula prepare were neither organic or non junk food. Paula is a good cook and she uses the best ingredients that are not always fat free.
I did notice a closeout type store opened near us and it contained a lot of her cookware. I guess it didn't take off as expected in the retail stores.[/QUOTE]

It doesn't seem a good match to me either. Paula has a lot of Southern charm, but her recipes are like heart attacks on a plate. They all seem to start with butter and end with adding extra butter. Kate would have to ask if it were organic butter! :rotfl:

Watch out for the Paula Deen cookware. The cast iron stuff was recalled because it shattered while heating.:scared1:

Yep, you don't see a lot of people cook hotdogs in butter and then cook the buns in butter! Paula is a wonderful, kind, gracious person. My MIL loves her and has been on her cruises a few times. She is the same in person as on TV, very warm and real.

Can you imagine a cruise with Kate?! Anyway, paula has several shows doesn't she? I don't get it.

I am just completely bothered by this. I can't believe he has allowed the "P" people on his property and then makes a comment to the kids about saying goodbye to their dogs so they could film their reaction. So sad!! :sad1:

That is the strangest thing yet. They have been investigated by the Humane Society? Kate does crate them a lot, we've seen that. I believe in crating, but she obviously doesn't like the dogs. She just wanted to name them, pick them out, get them for free, then imitate the breeder on tv by saying, "blah, blah, blah." How could Jon be expected to take care of them aside from when he is there? The kids standing on that stoop was so weird. Poor, poor kids; the only constants are the cameras. Both Jon and Kate are digging themselves into a hole they may not quickly get out of when it comes to those kids. I get the feeling that neither of them is holding back for the kids' sake. They are literally caught in the middle.

That was the most disgusting display to date....those poor kids! :sad2: And Jon has it all on tape for all the world to see...wonder what the family court judge would think of this one....this man has lost it!
