I just had a tweet about the story -- yes, it's Stephanie's mom and she's mad that Stephanie was fired. hmmmm. I think this is another case where Jon does plenty to screw up on his own, but this may not be one of those times.

Thank God he fired her. It is interesting he said it was causing him too many problems at home. Maybe the old Jon will come back.

Believe me, I agree that that is not the only opinion. And if you never knew who she was, or didn't have an interest in the show, I think she'll go over as good as Elisabeth (from Survivor) has gone on The View (but she is still there isn't she LOL). We (those who aren't regular watchers) only watch The View because we want to see what she has to say because of our interest in the show LOL. Will she talk about Jon? Will she admit her and Steve are an item? Will she admit she doesn't know how to cook, or will we catch her in a lie?

I seldom disagree with you (and I'm not sure I am now), but I have to say other than those who really intensely dislike her, always have, always will, (they will never change their mind, no matter what she does..everything she does will always be wrong, even if she drops the show, there will be something wrong with that) there are those who have seen the softer side, and think without Jon she easier to take. There really are those (on the boards I frequent) who have always liked her (maybe not all her actions, but her), and there are people who have been at her speeches who have enjoyed them and her. That's what I'm talking about..that some just don't see that there are people who do want to continue watching her because they actually think she OK.

There will always be people who don't care for her (not the haters, just don't care for her, don't like that the show continues, etc). I don't expect that to change, but definately there are people who didn't care for her that have seen and believe it's real, a change. There will still be those who think it's all fake..but you know what? If people continue to watch, if it be on the show, the view, or Larry King, the sponsors will still be there. They don't care if you like her, just if you watch the shows with their products.

But that's not the only opinion out there. I'm not talking about the anti-blogs, either. For example, I spoke to someone today who watched The View... I asked her what she thought of Kate's hair in today's show ... not only did she not know who Kate Gosselin is, she thought she was boring. I've read Gosselin threads on other message boards (again, not hate blogs) where people think Kate is as phony as ever.

I think the opinions about Kate are as strong as ever. For both sides. LOL!

The article doesn't say but it implies before because it says maybe the mother said all that stuff because she's bitter her daughter got fired. It did say that Jon got rid of her because Kate was upset by it and that it was causing problems at home.

The war of the words has officially begun, with Jon calling Marci a liar and Marci ready to drop more bombshells about the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star's relationship with her daughter Stephanie.

Responding to Marci's charges that Jon once threatened suicide and was Stephanie's lover, Jon has given his own video interview saying it's just not true.

Jon says Marci just wants to make money off him. Of course Jon also said he wasn't romantically involved with Kate Major even though she quit her job after they spent a week together in the Hamptons.

Telepictures Productions, which produces Ellen DeGeneres’ and Tyra Banks’ hit talk shows, is looking to develop a morning show with Kate Gosselin and TV cooking queen Paula Deen.

“They’re looking around and casting for other women to be on the show with them,” one source tells E!’s Marc Malkin. “But they want all the women to be moms.”

A few months ago, Kate told EW that she would totally do her own show. “There are no mom-centered talk shows,” she told the mag. “I think that would be a very comfortable thing for me.”

I can only take Paula Deen in small amounts. I don't know what Kate would have to talk about on a daily basis. So the answer from me would be (except for the first few LOL) no.

Well, I watched the videos and I couldn't figure out why none of this sounded credible to me.

Then I realized there was a major point we hadn't discussed yet: we all know that Jon slept above the garage when Kate lived in the house, but I highly doubt he still does. I don't think even the Jon haters are going to claim that he leaves 8 children alone in a house all night.

That is true about those tuning this week just to see Kate-- but as a regular watcher of The View, I didn't feel she was a good fit. And she's not the only fill in I've felt that way about. Ann Coulter sat with the ladies (I'm not sure she was a co-host) and it was HORRIBLE. I mentioned Meghan McCain earlier. I'd love to see her fill that spot! Alas, it's not available. Elizabeth will eventually be back ::: sigh:::

I'm sure you're right about the parts I bolded. (the rest of it I absolutely agree with -- there will always be staunch lovers and haters that will never be swayed. Ever.) And I'll throw this out there to go along with that -- those who liked Kate before, saw her in a speech or through recent events, and now find themselves disappointed in what they've seen. That happened to a few friends of mine. I can name 3 in particular-- one was a HUGE fan, the other two were pretty big fans -- they left the speaking engagement with a different impression of Kate than when they went in. Now, they still watch the show because they love the kids. The kid-lover fans are a group we haven't really talked about... I just realized that.

bingo. interest sells... no matter what that interest is.

And I do think we pretty much agree on this. We're just seeing reactions from different groups of people. I'm not specifically seeking out negative over positive, either. All that hate reading is draining after a while. I'm really interested in the big picture, which is why the facts and timeline appeal to me. I don't have much emotional investment in this, other than what I know about what happened here.

I agree! I wish there was a way to make that happen before the TLC contract is up so everyone can move on!

ITA! Those kids have to start learning to live in the real world, which is where they'll be when they start college (well, at least 7 of them will be, since TLC is not going to do 8 reality shows about the Gosselin kids going to college)

Many would also agree. Like I've said, back when I was team Jon, I was too busy concentrating on all Kate said. Once I started watching the old shows, I saw a lot I missed. I think they both were not respectful of each other.

Why do some of you think if Kate gets a talk show, the TLC show would end? I think that would just be more time the kids won't have with a parent. I think she would do both, just like if Jon gets another job, he will do both.

I know I said "maybe" Kate's plan is to do a talk show and end the TLC show. It was just a thought.

I wonder what would happen if Kate got a talk show and told TLC she was done with the other show and Jon said he still wanted to do it? (I know this isn't likely, but if Jon hasn't found anything else....)
