Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

My friend also predicted that for future shows for J & K plus 8 will be attending a Taylor Swift concert (probably front row seats and backstage passes) and David Beckham giving a soccer lesson at the house in PA. Time will tell.

I thought I remembered seeing Mady at movie night. I'd have to watch again.

I don't know about movie nite,
but Mady came in to help Kate, when Kate was using the grill for the first time. Mady asked, "what can she do", and Kate told her to wash the cherries. Mady made a really nice comment, how she loved the cherries and said, "no problem". Kate was using the grill for the first time, and she hoped no one would get sick. She was in the kitchen, putting a stuffing into a shell, I think. She made the comment, that Ashley was swimming with the kids and she would rather be swimming, but she needs to make supper.
She broke down a few times last nite being interviewed, and I had to remember that they filmed these segments probably back in June /July when the first announced the divorce.

I have a feeling Kate is going to be hiring a cook, so her time with the kids won't be spent cooking/cleaning. In Jon's segment, he was a little more passionate about his march to the creek to go fishing, and he also used the grill to make home made pizza's with the kids. At least he turned around and helped Joel, but I heard his comment too. He did admit when they got back to the house, he hosed everyone down because of the mud and cow manure.

I used to hose my kids down in the summer, when they got really dirty, I still do it to Matt' after his moto-cross races. There is no way, all that mud can go down the drain in the shower and in my wash machine.

I didn't watch the "view" today but after reading the comments from here and talking to my friend it sounds like they tried to get Kate into the conversation today, especially about Patrick Swayze. My friend said Kate claimed that Patrick's two movies "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" were two of her favorite movies. Amazing since she would of been about 11 or 12 when "Dirty Dancing" came out. She will say anything to toot her own horn.
She also thinks Dr. Phil was there to shield her. She said Barbara really wanted answers and the "um" was starting to show up more and more. She also felt that on last nights show they showed Kate as the "fun" parent and Jon as the "not fun" parent. No wonder the guy wants her to tell the truth. She adjusts her answer to whomever asks the question.
Jon's version of the "Dr. Phil" meet was entirely different then what Kate's version was. So who is the liar???

Don't you think there is a behind the scenes person doing cooking and cleaning already. I didn't watch the show but my friend told me that Kate was cooking chicken on the grill and hoping it wasn't undercooked. Do you really think this is the first time she ever cooked chicken on the grill alone?? My friend said it just seems that Jon & Kate are realizing that the kids are growing up and times that should of been memories really weren't because of the filming.
I think they are really editing to make Kate look like the victim when in hindsight she was the nasty one who made Jon feel worthless. I remember nasty comments also made to the kids. I hope she is being more kind to them--they gave up a lot for her--their childhood!!

My daughter is 20 and loves the "Wizard of Oz". Nothing wrong with it, just seems like they were searching for anything for Kate to say to relate to Patrick Swayze. In all the years of J & K I have never heard them mention a movie or band that they enjoyed. You never saw them watching a favorite tv show together--just seemed very staged!

that's not how I saw the show at all.

Compared to yesterday, Kate did better today. With that said, it wouldn't have taken much. There were no hot topics today. It was clear (to me, anyway) that today was the day set up for Kate to "shine". If it wasn't from the beginning, it was after yesterday's show. She was wearing a bright gold top, was seated in the center of the table, and addressed directly by Barbara Walters about Patrick Swayze. Joy & Barbara dissed Jon, which made it easy for Kate to take the high road. The questions Kate was asked today from the ladies were softballs, especially compared to yesterday. Today was easy for Kate to be sitting at the table. I would have preferred to hear more from Whoopi about Patrick Swayze, but that would have been the case no matter who was the co-host today.

I thought the Dr. Phil segment was awkward to watch. It was clear he wanted to say more, quite possibly said more (in private) to BW, and didn't elaborate on any of it. I got the impression Kate held him in higher esteem than he held her. She sucked right up to him. LOL. I sure didn't get sense he was trying to shield her. Especially when she didn't agree that the show had an effect on the marriage.

The rest of the show was a non-event. Love Taylor Swift. Love her.

Honestly, I think Kate's time on The View was forgettable. I loved Megan McCain last week. I'd love to see her as a co-host instead of Elizabeth!

soccer = no way. David & Victoria Beckham are out of TLC's league. I'll never say never, but I'd be very surprised if that happened.

I thought the taping was shut down for awhile, so these might have been taped in August? I enjoyed both segments, as I said. The kids seem to be getting the best of both parents (I did notice that remark, and I felt bad, but I'm sure he's not the first parent to utter 'whimp'..just he had camera's on him) and I was so glad when Jon took them someplace else where they could actually have the enjoyment of catching a fish. Can you imagine all those poles getting tangled in the weeds LOL?

I wonder if, after he hosed them down, if he dragged the muddy cow pile clothes through the house ..yikes LOL!

Overall, I thought Kate did a "good enough" job on the View. However, at the one point she had an audience member announce what was coming up after the commercial. Oh my, it looked so uncomfortable - I cringed!

That was the other thing I noticed yesterday. I knew I had something else this morning but couldn't remember. She didn't look comfortable in that situation at all - Kate or the guest audience person.

I'm not sure if the whole episode can be seen online or not.

WOW....why would you bring something like that to the public? The mom must have needed the money for something for her to speak out now... I also never heard if they were still having an affair (I don't recall pictures of Stephanie there recently) or if it was done once the pictures surfaced. What in your right mind would scream "yes I want to work for you - lets talk about it in the hot tub"??? Why wouldn't you run the other way at that point if you weren't trying to sleep with him? I would have to assume not many "normal" job offers are made by your boss in their hot tub.

As for the suicide accusation - that's pretty serious to speak about. Hopefully Jon sues if that's not true. Maybe that would teach people to keep their mouths shut. If it is true, Jon needs to get some serious help right away.

"He met the guy and instantly trusted him with his safety."

And it sounds like his new security detail is just the tip of Gosselin's parasite iceberg.

"He continues to befriend almost anyone who shows him support and respect since the divorce debacle," says the insider. Gosselin's best friends now include the paparazzi who surround his home and follow him wherever he goes, adds the source, saying Gosselin often stops and talks to them, makes fun of his soon-to-be-ex-wife Kate, and even offers to go on camera.

"Jon is all too willing to put himself out there for people to dissect," says the pal. "He thinks he is defending himself against Kate's perfect image and comments, but he doesn't see that the public dislikes him even more after he speaks out. I was at the hospital today getting some pre-op work done when the View came on. All the nurses and techs came running out to watch it and they all asked who's side they were on. I have to say with 7 people, not one took Kates side.
One nurse said her mother lives in PA not too far from the Gosselins. She was shopping one day when Kate came in with all the kids and this woman came up to her and asked if there was anything she could do to help her. No camera crew was around, other than paps outside. Kate said "buy my groceries, that would help." So the woman said yes, and Kate proceeded to run around the store buying some of the best stuff. The grocery bill came to over $200.
The nurse said that people in the town have gotten to the point that if they see Kate they don't say hello or ask to help her because she acts like everything should be given to her no matter who you happen to be.
I can't verify this story other than to offer it.

Cue the eye-rolling: Jon Gosselin continued his long march through Manhattan nightlife when he hit the In Touch Weekly’s Icons and Idols Video Music Awards after-party Sept. 13.

The “Jon & Kate Plus 8” dad got off to a bad start before he was even off the red carpet, when he was overheard asking reporters to “please write something nice about me.”

That request might have been possible to fulfill if Gosselin didn’t proceed to behave in egregiously attention-seeking ways.

Exhibit A: Gosselin, when not lighting a cigarette for any female within lighter’s reach, loudly discussed his dislike of celebrities’ egos.

“I hate when celebrities make a big deal of themselves,” he said. “When I talk to Diddy, I'm just like ‘Hey Sean, no big deal.’”

Exhibit B: Gosselin, who’s been known to head out on the town with a paparazzo as his plus-one, saw to it that he posed for many photos as possible with “fans.”

One woman in particular was taking a picture in his general vicinity when someone from Gosselin’s entourage approached, saying, “It looks like you might want a picture of Jon. He’s happy to do it. Come over to him and have your picture taken.”

It is very possible that it was Kate's first time using the grill. From what I remember on previous shows, that was normally Jon's job.

I think Kate has always been kind to her kids. She might have lost of temper a few times but what parent hasn't? I disagree that the kids gave up their childhood but if we find out someday the kids feel that is true, why is it just Kate's fault? Did Jon not have the ability to say no?

There are so many of these stories on the hate sites..I've heard this version at least a half dozen ways. It almost should be up on snopes LOL. I've often wondered what she did with the eight kids as she ran around the store getting groceries (and if the stuff was expensive, it sure woudln't take up much room for $200, or take long to get). The first version I heard had her headed right to the butcher, and she got her fill on meat. I also wonder, if the woman (if this was true) did this to be kind, why she then passed the story on. Not saying anything against you for offering the story, but I just don't buy it.

The important thing to note is all these nurses ran out to watch the show. That's what the View and TLC wants. They don't care if you like them, just if you watch them.
