Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

Did they seperate or did Kate file for divorce before he started dating Hailey? I thought she filed after May. My timeline is all mixed up.

Kate filed for divorce mid-June.

Jon was seen with Hailey and her mom Memorial day weekend.

Jon's with the kids this morning, he just tweeted about it.

Maybe he put it down at Hailey's and she tossed it LOL! I still don't understand why his mother didn't come to visit. Even if he didn't have time to go see her (because according to him, Kate says his time should be spent with the kids), she should have had time to come to him. I'd be interested in knowing more about that..for instance, was there trouble because his family didn't think he should have had all the kids, or was his mom just not interested in them (which I thought Jon had said once..that his mom didn't visit his brothers kids either.or was that Kate's mom?). I still haven't seen where his mom has come to visit, or he take the kids to her, now that Kate and Jon are apart.

It was Kate's parents who had nothing to do with the kids (and according to the Utah interview, had nothing to do with their other grandchildren either). Jon's mom was the one who didn't want to be in the show. As for her not visiting, Jon made it clear that Kate said he couldn't spend time with both her and the kids ie. that he had to choose between them, so until this spring he chose to be with his kids. But unlike Kate's family, Jon's mother doesn't live nearby and he would (still) have to get permission from Kate to take the kids there, IMO.

Jon's mother was there for the big Gosselin family party -- she may have been there other times, but that's obviously not sensational enough to report unless somebody falls in the driveway and has to be taken to hospital.

Re Hailey, the official story is that they did not know each other before May (I guess that was Memorial Day wknd), when he went to stay with her parents, talked on the phone for the next 2 months and they started dating after Kate filed for divorce. Weird, but plausible, since he was either home or at his mother's home during that time. It doesn't mean he didn't want to start dating Hailey sooner, but I can see how they wouldn't have had to the time together to do so until Jon and Kate started trading off time with the kids.

Doesn't he want to stay out of the spotlight? Maybe if he would stop tweeting, he could maintain a little more privacy.

Of course I can see Kate saying one thing to Jon and another thing to the press.

I'm still trying to reconcile that she "isn't a morning person" so Jon got the twins ready for school and fixed her coffee (per her instructions!) but now she can get up at the crack of dawn to work out.

I think Kate will be devestated if the papparazzi (sp?) isn't following her around anymore. To me she seems to believe that she really is a star!

Perhaps she wasn't a morning person when the 8 kids were all little and Jon was off to work during the day, and she didn't have full time child help. I imagine it was pretty tiring for the both of them. She may gets to go to bed a bit earlier, and the kids may sleep in longer. Or, she may get up and work out before all the kids are up..it's either early to work out or not at all.

I would think just working out makes her feel better (I know it makes her look better)..I know it makes me feel better.

Well at one time, she said that Jon was in charge of the nightime rituals. he would bathe each of the kids and get them ready for bed. So it sounds like, for awhile anyway, that Jon got the kids up and ready each morning and got them to bed at night. I know in her book she stated that the tups took a morning nap and usually a 3-4 hour afternoon nap. Anyway you look at it, Jon was a major contributor.

I didn't have "tups" but did have 5 children with a set of twins. I'm not a morning person either but I didn't have the luxury of sleeping in.

Jon Gosselin once told In Touch magazine that girlfriend Hailey
Glassman was “amazing … like a breath of fresh air.” Apparently, the
winds have changed.


In Touch is reporting that the relationship between the “Jon & Kate
Plus 8" dad, 32, and Glassman, 10 years his junior, is now over.


According to the magazine, Glassman “became suspicious” when Jon was
linked to former reporter Kate Major. But the final straw came after
Jon traveled to Las Vegas without Glassman in late August and was
photographed partying poolside at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
surrounded by bikini-clad women.


“When Jon came back, he said very little to Hailey, but his phone
spilled the details,” a friend of Glassman’s told In Touch. “He had
several text messages and photos taken with girls, including a
showgirl. Hailey was shocked that he didn’t bother to delete any of it
from his phone … She doesn’t want to be with him anymore.”

You do know that tabloids sometimes report things that aren't 100% true? I used to say that i'll believe it when I read it in People, but that doesn't work anymore!

An article that I read said that although the tups were 5yo, they were in Pre-K and not K because since they were preemies, they weren't ready for K yet. If they are delayed, were they getting services through the Early Intervention program in PA?

It seems that Kate is Kate's first priority. While getting my with the kids wasn't a priority working out for herself is. I think she is one of the most incredibly selfish women I have ever seen. I think Jon is acting like a jerk now, but I'm one of the ones who DOES believe Kate was emotionally abusive. From what I've heard it's not unheard of for someone who has been treated the way Jon was to go crazy for awhile.

Hopefully BOTH of them will wake up, get the kids out of the public eye by quitting the show and for once focus totally on the kids.

And I don't want to hear how she has to do this for the kids. We managed to raise all of our kids without any free rides, put the older ones through college and even, although it would kill Kate, to pay for our own vacations, trips and kids clothes!

Ditto! I'd much rather participate in this thread than watch TV. Well, unless it's Top Chef! I'm a Fresca addict too. Only the original citrus one though. My grandmother used to drink it by the gallon when I was a kid and everytime I smell it, I think of her.

Oh, and to keep this on topic, do you think Kate drinks Fresca?

Great post--totally agree!!!
I also think Kate is selfish. She is the type of person where it will never be enough for her. No matter how many vacations, trips and freebies they get, she will want more. This show has taken a 180 degree turn from when it started. Gone are the trips to local spots like Hershey Park to SanDiego for a pedicure. This is so unrealistic for a large family (I forgot, she only travels with a few of the kids now and minis Jon).
I hope they both wake up and try to salvage whats left of that family. Anyone who believes that those kids love the camera are sorely mistaken.
So the Gosselin's have 8 kids--lots of families of 8 kids or more. What's so special about there life that it warrents a tv show. It was interesting when they were a whole family and the kids were small, but they are growing up and time to end this train wreck. Hopefully Mommy & Daddy saved more than $75,000 for college.
Unless someone creates a reject show for failed reality show stars, Jon & Kate might have to hit the job market.

Although Jon told In Touch he and Kate were “just friends,” Hailey was still skeptical. “He lied to her about Kate Major,” the close friend reveals.
