It is kind of weird they both travel around with a body guard. Do you think they have had death threats? Jon has his body guard follow him around stores.

There is so many people hating them maybe they are scared. I guess they get the hate email...we see it on the boards.

honestly, I think TLC had as much to do with the dogs entering the picture as anything else. Jon may have expressed an interest in having the dogs, but it also makes good TV. I'm cynical like that, though.

Yes, the 11th Gosselin is to blame for writing in the dogs. It seems as if none of them think more than 3 seconds in the future. I don't see the big deal in TLC arranging training (hey! an episode) and care for the dogs way back when, with the foresight that these were the kids' dogs and it might look bad if 1) a kid hits one with a bat, 2) they return them less than a year later.

They have gone to great lengths to carry on other charades, the dog thing would have been easy. Of course, maybe Jon did this on pap film to undercut Kate/TLC. why he hasn't figured out that everything he does backfires is beyond me.

not speaking verbatim, but he referenced Kate and the talk show in the tabloids .. said that Kate said it was important that she stay on TV.

Jay paused and said because if she didn't, she'd have to spend time at home with her kids.

cheap shot, I know, but his delivery was hysterical. the crowd loved it. LOL

:lmao: Ha! I love it!!

I thought it was interesting that Jon's lawyer filed to not be his lawyer anymore. Does anyone know if that was Jon's decision or the lawyers? Would it be handled the same way if Jon has just decided to go with another lawyer...would his current lawyer still file the paperwork this way or was the way it was filed say that the lawyer was the one who wanted out?

Bad publicity doesn't mean an instant talk show. J & K are the laughing stock of shows like "Chelsea Lately" and the "Soup", but its not the kind of stuff you want constantly brought up and remembered. If this Paula Deen talk show is true, it will probably be on cable which not everyone has. Its the big networks that pay the big money and have the guaranteed viewers.

Exactly, especially the bolded part.

When my DD was 6 she did some training as a junior handler (as in dog shows) -- she's a huge dog lover (but a very small girl). It was great because it taught her that she had to be in control of the dog and that her behaviour determined the dog's behaviour. That would have made a cute episode for the show, especially if they decided to go to a dog show. :goodvibes

But you're right, nobody who is involved with these kids seems to think beyond this week's ratings.

I thought it was interesting that Jon's lawyer filed to not be his lawyer anymore. Does anyone know if that was Jon's decision or the lawyers? Not sure if it's the same in PA, but here the new lawyer would file the petition if Jon had asked for the change. The old lawyer would file the petition if they could no longer handle the client, often for reasons unknown to the client when they were retained.

But this actually made me question Kate's statement that Jon had said he had a divorce lawyer a long time ago ie. that he was responsible for the divorce. Seems to me any issues would have been worked out a while ago if this were the case.

My guess is that last Sunday Kate flew to NY with her bodyguard(s) to prepare for the "View". She spent Monday & Tuesday doing the "View and they must of asked her to return for Friday's show which is probably taped on Thursday. Rather than go home to her family in crisis over the dogs, she chooses to stay in NY and let Jon handle the problem.
We all know Jon's way of handling the problem--speak first--think later!!! How selfish J & K are to benefit themselves. When they showed the video of the kids saying goodbye to their pets, you could see an adult woman in the house in the background. Probably just another nanny or caretaker as usual. The kids are probably worried that they are the next to go!!!

Yes. At least in this state which is not PA.

For those who can't get the link, the breeder says he's been asked by Jon to take care of the dogs indefinitely until Jon can figure out what to do with them. Meanwhile they'll get some extra training. He says they're a bit overweight and adds that he knows they get a lot of exercise with Jon. That made me LOL

He also states that Jon doesn't plan to give up the dogs, but if he has to he will keep the dogs himself rather than adopt them out. It's a long article -- sounds unbiased and quite revealing.

And in case we needed a reminder that these are Jon's dogs, a quote from an article about the dogs stealing food at a family picnic with the Teutels:
When they all sat down for a meal later, Kate spazzed out when the dog ran over to them and started stealing their food. "Jon!" Kate shrieked. "Kate, like, freaks out," Jon later said of the incident. "I was like, what do you expect - you're putting food on the ground?"

Nope -- Kate is obviously not a dog person.

But this actually made me question Kate's statement that Jon had said he had a divorce lawyer a long time ago ie. that he was responsible for the divorce. Seems to me any issues would have been worked out a while ago if this were the case.
It could be any number of reasons why the lawyer left. It could be dragging on to long and he had plans for another case, He and Jon could not be agreeing on how this should be handled, there could be a conflict of interest he didn't realize before, they could just not agree on how it should be handled, Jon could have decided to go with a more agressive lawyer. People change lawyers all the time.
I remember Kate saying Jon told her to get a lawyer, because he had, so she did. Then she ended up filing first because of 'Jon's actions' which none of us have figured out what the mysterious 'actions' were.

I have read on Rosie O'Donnell's blog that Friday episodes are taped on Wednesday. So she probably stayed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

I've read on here a few times that even big name celebrities don't have bodyguards. Lots if not most celebrities have bodyguards, for instance Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Ashlee Simpson, Celine Dion, R. Kelly, and the Backstreet Boys, Diddy, Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie, Olsen twins, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, Snoop Dog, Lance Armstrong. It only took me a couple of minutes to just find these names. I'm sure there are lots more.
Kate and Jon are no where in their class, but we have no idea if they have gotten death threats, or need the bodyguards just to walk into places, or to be shielded from over enthusiastic paps. They may have stalkers, or even fans who want to get a bit too close. I remember a story where a fan stalked David Letterman, and his bodyguard caught her breaking into his house. I don't think it's unusual at all, when you illicite so many feellings from people. Just read the hate boards (or even just regular boards)...some people dislike them so intensely that it would make me nervous to be close to them, so I could see where I would feel better having a body guard.

Jon rides the ATV and they run.:rotfl:

I think it is sad they got rid of the dogs but I also think it was an effort to make Jon happy because he wanted a dog AND it was an episode to tape which made for good TV.
I'm not surprised it hasn't worked out since the marriage crumbled. It was clear Kate wasn't in love with the idea of getting them in the first place and under the circumstances, they should not have gotten them. But, that is hindsight. I doubt I'd want 8 kids to take care of 2 dogs too--esp. in the winter in PA. I love our lab but he is a lot of work--esp. if DH is out of town and it is up to me.

But we don't know any of the circumstances. We saw the kids being mean to them. We don't know if one of the dogs may have had enough of that and snapped at one of the kids or not. Could have been something like that, or just the day to day care with them going through divorce, or Kate may have been over them and it might be to spite Jon since he "loved" the dogs. We don't know.

If Jon wants to keep them, there are ways for him to do it. We'll see how much he loves and WANTS them by what he decides to do.
The tape he allowed yesterday was nuts, cruel and shows a lot about the kind of dad he is.

Not sure what it matters to anyone why Kate has (or Jon for that matter) have bodyguards. They're paying for them (or TLC) so what?:confused3 I just don't get the concern. Like you say, the feelings of *hate* the two of the stir up may be the reason.

Interesting -- that might mean that the dog issue has no way of coming up on tomorrow's View. :rolleyes1

I guess we will see. Rosie has been off The View for 2 years so maybe something has changed. I don't really know, just sharing info that I have read. :goodvibes

Jon rides the ATV and they run.:rotfl:

I know this was a joke, but a lot of people do this with large dogs.

My brother has a shepherd and they run him with their bicycles, as do many people with large dogs who stay at the same campground as us. But my brother has actually said that if he lived in the country he'd do the same as Jon.

When we were growing up we had a smaller retriever. My dad couldn't walk so he took the dog out with him while he rode his scooter -- that dog needed that much exercise since they're bred to run at least 4 km per day. Funny thing is, the couple of times my dad got tipped or stuck somewhere, the dog came home and got us. :goodvibes

I have stood up for Kate a great deal as of late but not on this dog issue. I realize that we have not heard her "side" of things but whatever her reason now is not the time, it is beyond selfish to get rid of the dogs right now.

Yes, Jon is the one that wanted and pushed for dogs and she may have agreed just to make him happy. However, the dogs are there now and you are not only hurting Jon by making them leave you also hurt the kids. Kids that have plenty of hurt and drama going on without adding to it. And why now? I would have expected this more 3 months ago. Was it to hurt Jon because he introduced or wants to introduce the kids to Hailey?

For Jon to use the media to try to get back at Kate over the dogs is just as bad, the video was not necessary and only further hurt the children.

.

Those are pretty big dogs. I think it must be hard for her to crate them, (and control them), which is what I assume they do when they all leave the house, since they are still pretty young. I haven't seen a kennel on the property, I guess they could have built one with heat. Maybe up until now she/he did have someone taking care of them, but with winter coming and the kids in school, things change. Anyone in the area want a job of walking two huge dogs, night and day as needed, keeping the poo cleaned up? If you do, you can keep us up on things LOL.
Maybe the kids aren't paying any attention to them, and they were just there, and are better off with the trainer. Who knows. I'm sure we don't at this time. It was a decision they should have made together, and solved together. I'm sure we'll hear more about this. I wonder if all of the normal decisions that happen in a divorce are going to be shared, taped and aired by the paps.
