Well, I guess the things that stand out the most to me are that TLC never got the permits to shoot on location at the Gosselin home (which also means that J&K are the owners of that house). Also, TLC failed to get the necessary permits for the kids to work on the show under PA law. And that TLC has failed to compensate the kids for 4 years of being on the show. I'd say TLC is in pretty big trouble. I wonder what their 'penelty' lmao will be?

Possibly, it could just be a way for Jon to hinder or delay filming and nothing more. Personally, I think they will be filming again within a week. About the house, Kate stated a few months ago that the mortgage was in their names and that TLC did not pay for the home.

The PA Dept. of Labor investigated Jon and Kate plus 8 and TLC back in May. I would think if a violation had occured, the show would have been stopped then. Does anyone know what happened with the investigation?

I notice is only says TLC is not allowed in. I guess he did not want to send his own paparazzi crew away.

By law, paparazz cannot enter private property. That's way they are always on the public sidewalks. There was no need to write that they stay out.

Perhaps he can learn to spell---the sign---it is spelled 'penalty', not 'penelty'

I don't think the spelling errors are his, as his name is spelled wrong also.

Unless he finally got a job as a professional sign maker, I doubt he made that himself. That is a professionally worded, (badly misspelled) sign not something scrawled with a magic marker.

You might be right about Jon's motives. I don't think filming will resume that quickly, if at all. Jon is really making a big stink about the kids and now Kate and TLC will have to address that thoroughly IMO. Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall at THAT meeting?

there really wasn't an outcome, but TLC said no laws were being broken...which is technically true b/c there are no laws for reality show kids in PA. Maybe this new lawyer found a loophole, in fact he must have b/c filming has stopped. TLC would only stop if legally required to, so Jon does have something on them.

I'm going to have to watch LKL tonight, as sorry to do that as I am! And I bet all our guys are sorry they went on vacation this week!

Oh, I wanted to add that maybe the Labor Board did find something, b/c filming inside the house has been really limited lately. It has been commented on that would get around the 'house as a film set' accusation.

The sign looks computer generated to me as a joke. I doubt it is an authentic sign. (My vision could be off--but the characters look like computer screen characters that were placed after a photo was taken, not a photo of printed characters.)


As for Jon--it was totally a calculated move. I don't doubt that he cares for his children and I don't doubt that Kate does for whatever. He didn't want to be part of the show---he got his wish. If he truly cared for the children, he would have been maneuvering with an attorney to put the kabash on filming earlier.

It's like a televised Muncheusen (sp?) syndrome.

It was completely calculated and I daresay pretty scummy of him to use his children as pawns in that manner.


I don't think PA Dept of Labor found anything otherwise they would have put a stop to this sooner.

Jon is just retracting his permission and it is up to contract attorneys to determine if Jon can really do that RIGHT NOW. He could perhaps deny permission in future seasons, but TLC still has a way around this (whether or not the public agrees with this is moot). Contracts are pretty air tight and if Jon consented to the season, I'm not sure he can do much of anything right now to prevent the season from being filmed.


It's pretty unmanly though to do something only after you get booted from the project.

Excellent point! Why else would TLC stop filming? There must be something to these accussations or else TLC would just release a statement saying they are in full compliance with no need to stop.

I'm watching tonight too! I wonder if Madge, LoraJ and Doris know Jon's going to be on! We'll miss their input tonight!

The world of entertainment is all about contracts and in that article it states that Jon is expressly prohibited from an interview such as Larry King Live.

So if he's not allowed--it isn't like he didn't know and his bratty behavior to do what he wants whenever he wants is going to be dealt with.

I'm not surprised by Kate and TLC's comments at all. Of course they would say that. They need to make Jon's accussations look insane and discredit him however they can. But Jon's lawyer wouldn't be giving out these details and claims if he weren't 100% certain IMO.

Yes, but TLC is not fly by night film company and I'm quite sure they have their own lawyers. It seems odd that if needed permits they wouldn't have them and even odder...if they needed permits and didn't have them that someone wouldn't have already called them on it already. You would think TLC would know what they are doing regarding contracts too. Jon's new lawyer maybe sure of his interpertation of things, but I don't think his claims are a sure thing.

I think Jon has the right idea, for the wrong reasons.

I personally think this show should have stopped ages ago when it became obvious that all was not well.

That said I think he's doing it just to irritated Kate and make life as difficult as possible. I do not think he has his kids' best interests at heart because if he did he wouldn't be gallivanting all over the globe with a 22 year old he's not married to, posing for pictures, and saying on national television that he loves this virtual stranger more than he ever loved their mother.

Here is how I see it all.

I think what Jon is doing has nothing to do with the kids. He is trying to put the screws to Kate so he can get a better settlement with the divorce. He is probably upset that things were looking better for her and in order to get the tides to turn he has to create as much havoc as possible for Kate. I think this is all telling of his real personality.

I also think that Jon's new attorneys are just money grubbing sleezes. They see a big paycheck at the end and they are working this for all they can. Jon is really getting some bad advice from all his PR people and his new friends. This is just going to get uglier and uglier.

I think Jon was pretty clear on the season ending in march(?) He said he wanted to stop then. Kate dismissed him. He's not so dismissible now is he?

We do know a few new things as fact; Jon and Kate own the house, it's not a trust for the kids or in TLC's name. And we know the kids have not been paid, which I guess isn't surprising, b/c then they would be working. Now that Jon brought all that up (permits, child labor) it HAS to be addressed. And I see filming has stopped, so that says something to me.

I'm kind of torn about Jon, although I will most definitely be watching LKL tonight! Wild horses couldn't drag me away. What is so interesting about him is that he seems to say what he's feeling whereas Kate is so scripted in her responses. I'm guessing Larry will go up one side and down the other of Jon tonight. I'm very curious to hear what he will say in reply to the questions he's going to get hammered with tonight.

ITA with all of this. Because I think the show should end, I'm siding a bit with Jon right now. I think if he's not doing this for the kids, it has more to do with posturing for the divorce proceedings than anything IMO. He was going to be going in there fighting against Kate in her quest to get full custody.
