Yes, it is extremely transparent and sad. I think Jon may soon regret opening this can of worms.

This is bigger than Jon trying to extort money. This is IT. I really don't care what he's in it for, if the filming of the kids stops, they have won. With all the mention of TLC not securing permits and not paying, Jon is bringing up all the dirty secrets. It can't end well for him, I agree, no matter the outcome.

Absolutely
No matter what anyone feels about this show (and personally I think it should have stopped at the first sign something was wrong with J&K) this cannot turn out ok for Jon. If the show is gone Kate will go on with other work - a "victim" of her jerk of an exhusband. But for Jon, well, what network would risk hiring him ever again? Any future within that industry is gone...

Pleeeeeeeease. This is a direct response to Jon being booted from the show. It doesn't have a darn thing to do with the kids. He is having a tantrum because he got dumped.

When Jon was interviewed by Chris Cuomo he defended the filming. He didn't even elude to it being bad for the kids or having any concerns about it. He is also on camera defending the filming to some reporter when Jodie and Kevin said they were filmed all the time and it was a job for them, ect...He had NO qualms about the kid's filming the show until now.

Can't he see how ridiculous and transparent this is? I can't believe he is actually going to try and say he is doing this because of concern for the kids.

What do you think Jon will gain by doing this? Nothing, he'll lose everything actually. That alone makes me wonder if there is some shred of decency in him, to think of the kids above all else. I could be wrong and goodness knows where this family is concerned, I've been wrong a lot! But, I guess I want to believe that perhaps he is sincere and has been working for weeks to pull the plug. I just don't understand what he could gain from this. Maybe that's been the bone of contention with him and Kate, continuing the show all along. Who knows. Only Jon, Kate and TLC know the truth and the facts.

Well, isn't this what Jon wanted though? He said being a TV personality was too much for him? He said he didn't like being "Jon of Jon & Kate Plus 8" he said he wanted to be "just Jon." He even said he was going to get a normal job...so now he can do that, what's his problem?

This is going to be a HUGE mess. If Jon thought the tabloids were bad before, I have a feeling he hasn't seen anything yet. Way to repair your relationship with Kate for better parental communication Jon.

He may have nothing to gain, but since he got dumped from the show yesterday anyway, he really has nothing to lose either.

If he really was working on pulling the plug, he lost ALL credibility in that by doing this the very next day after he was pulled from the show. And it was not very long ago that he said there wasn't anything wrong with the filming. It was fine, the kids love it, ect...if you were "planning" this, why give the otherside film evidence that you thought it was all fine? Doesn't make sense.

Too late Jon. Your family IS a mortal trainwreck. So sad. Tragic, really.

And as for his efforts to take down the show....I hope it works. If for no other reason, than to not allow the kids to be tortured in front of all of America anymore. They will be damaged enough by the antics of their parents, allowing it to play out on TV will simply ruin those poor kids.

Whether he felt the filming was harmful all along, but defended it for money, or has just come to this realization, it's sad. It's sad that Jon can't look out for his kids' best interest and seem sincere. It's sad that money clouded his judgement. It's sad that he can't stand the mother of his children. It's sad the kids are a BIG part of this circus. Just stop the show. It will die down before the end of the school year. Boring doesn't sell tabloids or end up on TMZ.

How can he remain under contract, but longer be a part of the show, and his name is removed from the title?

TLC is stopping the filming of the kids b/c they are being forced to. they would not stop otherwise.

When they announced the show would have a new name, it was stated that Jon would still be part of the show but to a limited degree. I agree that TLC was forced to suspend filming for now, that is not however an indication of Jon's claims having merit.

I think Larry King was so Jon could do some image repair and talk about how he wanted to delay the divorce for 90 days. It was arranged before he got dumped from the show, which I don't think he saw coming, so now the show is going to be about that and his cease and desist filming stuff and it's going to be ALOT harder for him not come off as a jerk. Should be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery interesting.

If I were Jon's lawyer I'd be very nervous about what is going to come out of Jon's mouth, no matter how much coaching I did.

I sure hope Jon gives an honest interview tonight on Larry King as to what is going on. I actually think he has been trying to get out of his TLC contract for months, but I don't think he expected the show to go on without him. Too bad a member of the camera crew isn't on the DIS. They are the ones who know everything that is going on. I wonder if TLC is paying for Diva Kate's lawyer???lawyers???

Not exactly -- the interview was actually 3 hours, and the early reports of the content were that he was on record as saying the show was bad for the kids. That was obviously cut out when they got the interview down to just 20 minutes for the actual show on Prime Time Live.

Wow! I went to check my e-mail real quick before I start to clean the house and find out that Jon wants to stop filming! So much for cleaning.

Honestly, I don't care if he is sincere or not. The kids are getting a break from being filmed and I'm happy about that. The kids have an agent, so wouldn't that make them actors? They are being represented by Kate's agent and PR people.

I wonder if Jon is going to let it all out on Larry King tonight. This publicity stunt worked because I wasn't going to watch, but now you couldn't keep me away (From LKL).

ETA: Do you think maybe he came to some sort of realization in therapy? Maybe the therapist really brought it to light that "if you feel overwhelmed and feel you have no privacy imagine what the kids feel".

Also, to say that the kids haven't said they want to stop filming is a joke. According to Kate, they don't know any different. This is their normal, so why would it come in their mind to stop? And IMO Kate is probably saying "we won't get to take any more trips, do anything fun without the show". That would make me want to keep filming too. JMHO.

I think everyone worries about what is going to come out Jon Gosselin's mouth.

Which is what makes it so fun to watch, unfortunately. He just doesn't belong on TV.

I was watching an old episode yesterday- Jon and Kate had such affection for each other- it made me sad.

Well I don't think they are going to get there 40 episodes in for Season 5. Maybe Kate plus 8 will get cancelled before it even gets started. Lets see, what could they film---redo the kitchen again, go back to Bald Head Island and have another tea party or visit the Navy ship. Toast marshmallows--and they wonder why they have been losing viewers.

I seriously hope this ends the kids taping forever. They deserve a break. I seriously hope Jon doesn't have a nervous breakdown over all this. I think he is truly a man scorned. Everything he did was pent up anger. He's like a timebomb just waiting to explode. Larry King should be interesting!!!

A veiled reference to the fact that he can be sued for breach of contract for bringing bad PR to the show.

If I were his lawyer I'd tell him that he's already wet so he may as well start swimming -- TLC will be less likely to sue a dad who appears to be trying to look out for his kids' best interests, so he should spill the beans on everything tonight. The marriage is over, the show is over (at least for him), and the only thing he has left is being a dad, a dad with a lot less future income, but his kids obviously love this guy. Might as well go out with a bang.

Jon Gosselin is attempting to shut down production of TLC's Kate Plus 8 by denying permission to videotape his eight children, according to reports.

Through his attorney, Mark J. Heller, Jon, 32, has written two letters to TLC lawyers. In the letters andmdash;dated Sept. 29 andmdash; Gosselin demands the network cease and desist production and leave his property, according to The Insider.

In one of the letters, Jon's attorney writes: "Effective immediately, no production crews are to enter Jon's family home for any reason. In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authorities to effectuate police action against any trespassers."

According to Gosselin's lawyer, both Jon and Kate, 34 andmdash; who announced they were ending their 10-year marriage in June andmdash; own the $1.1 million Wernersville, Pa., estate where the show is filmed.

Jon has joint custody of the kids and is able to make decisions about their welfare, his lawyer says.

Heller also claims that TLC "failed to designate the appropriate compensation to be allocated to the children" and "it may ultimately be determined that TLC has not provided for compensation for the eight children over the past four years."

His lawyer further alleges that the network "never secured location permits" for the production company to film the show on the Gosselins' property.

His lawyer says that Jon found out about the show's name change the same way as everyone else andmdash;through The Associated Press. He adds that Jon had been in discussions to take the kids off the show for weeks prior to Tuesday's announcement.

Geesh Jon, we've been questioning the compensation forever on the Dis Boards. Just think of all the money you would have saved, if you would of read some of the free advice you've been getting from us.

To bad a lawyer had to give you advice that you needed 4 years ago.
