QUOTE:

Jon Gosselin: 'I'm Single'
By Jeffrey Slonim and Liz McNeil

Originally posted Sunday July 26, 2009 11:00 AM EDT

After a romantic trip to Saint-Tropez with Hailey Glassman and a double date in the Hamptons with Kate Major, Jon Gosselin now says he's happily flying solo.

"At this point ... I'm single – per se," he told PEOPLE at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field on Saturday. "I'm just a regular guy who just wants to have friendship and good times. And I like meeting people."

Of 22-year-old Glassman, Gosselin says, "She's always a good friend of mine. Her family is so good. They took me in and I lived there for a while. I love them to death."

But for now, they're on a bit of a break. "She doesn't like this [craziness]. She loves me for who I am and not for what I do," he says. "We are going to chill out for a while and see where it takes us. I'm not looking for anyone."

As for Major, the former Star magazine reporter he's been spotted with, Gosselin says, "We are just friends."

'Family First'
Despite all the questions about his life as a new bachelor, Gosselin still has the same priorities. "I'm just trying to concentrate on my family first, second my career. That's what I have to do," says Gosselin, who will be heading home to see his family in the days ahead. "I'm really looking forward to it – to turning my phone off, playing with my kids in the pool and being the dad."

He'll also be shooting scenes for Jon & Kate Plus Eight, which returns to TLC on Aug. 3. "Kate and I are just showing how we are going to live," he says of the show, which will follow him and Kate Gosselin as they raise their children in the wake of their decision to divorce. "If she's got to work, I go home. If I've got to work, she stays home. And that's the way it's always been."

Don't expect to see the Gosselin children meeting dad's new girlfriend anytime soon. "I don't want to introduce anyone to my kids," he says. "We just have to play it by ear. I don't know what it's like to be divorced."

But he's learning – with help from Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan, who's been showing Gosselin around the Hamptons scene. "I'm just a country boy. I'm kind of out of my element. It's nice out here," Gosselin says. "Everyone has families, everyone has kids and everyone wants to help. Business is business, but we should put out families first and I think we'll all be okay."

:sad2:

What "career" would that be Jon? What exactly does he do to make money - oh yes, make his kids appear on TV. But they are not working remember - so how is it that he is working and this is his "career?"

He also has a strange way of showing that he is putting "family first." Was he putting family first when he went to France with a young chick and was photographed holding her hand only weeks after separating from Kate? I see no way that could be family first Jon!

I'm not sure how far it takes you to get to Northern Kentucky, but the Gap distribution center is very near the Greater Cincinnati airport in Hebron. I go a couple of times a year and get GREAT deals there for the whole family!

Sorry this is OT, but I'm really curious about the Gap Distrubtion center. My sister and I are taking the kids to King's Island in a couple weeks and were just talking about whether it would be worth it to go to the Gap place. We are going to Newport on the Levee, it doesn't seem that far from there. My sister heard alot of stuff is damaged? (holes and stains ect...) is most stuff in good shape? Or do you have to dig to find the good stuff?

The Gap warehouse is probably 20 minutes (maybe 25 minutes?) from Newport on the Levee. As to whether not it's worth it depends on the day, which is typical of any outlet or warehouse. For those who don't know what we're talking about, this is the distribution center for Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and any of the other Gap brands. It's where store returns, damages & defectives, and out of season stuff is sent. A lot of the damages are easily fixed -- a hem or zipper, missing button, etc. Some are so bad I wonder how they've made it onto the floor. You do have to dig, which I think is part of the fun. It's organized by baby, boys, girls, maternity, shoes, mens, and womens, and the sizes are separated, but it's not uncommon to find things all over the store. Some deals are MUCH better than others. I bought a pair of these Banana Republic pants yesterday for $9.99. They were brand new, with tags. Not a thing wrong with them. I also found one of the $22.50 Junk Food t-shirts for $4.99, NWT.

Kids stuff is probably the least good deal. You have to dig to get the higher quality Gap stuff. I won't pay $4.99/piece for Old Navy, especially when it gets marked down so low in the stores.

Some days I'll come out of there with bags crammed full and spent $100. Yesterday, I didn't find much of what I was looking for .. there was plenty of good stuff, just not what I wanted.

Hope this helps! I've been shopping at the Gap warehouse since 1987. LOL!

Thanks so much Madge! Great info. My sister really wanted to go there to do some school shopping, we were debating if we would have time/if it would be worth it. If it's only 20 minutes from Newport though, I don't see how we can pass it up. Boy! I'm finding out there is alot to see and do around Cincinatti!

ETA: Funny thing and to keep this OT...our original plan was to go to Hershey and I was trying to talk my sister into a side trip of going by the Gosselin's house! :rotfl:

I'd plan on spending at least an hour at the Gap. One thing I forgot is that there are no returns. Period. Make sure you're happy with what you've chosen before you check out.

Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky is a great area. Be sure and try some of the local chili (Skyline, Gold Star, etc) and have some Graeter's ice cream!

I love Skyline, we have a couple here in Cleveland, we are planning on checking out Camp Washington Chili. It's in the book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die.

I love Graeter's. We are in the Louisville area so I do the outlet mall in Indiana sometimes--the is a Gap store there. I found when DD was little that some of the stuff was made especially for the outlet. There is a Gymbo outlet there now too.

On topic--one week to the J & K new season--for those who are watching. I wonder what TLC will come up with this week to promote the show. I'll be interested to see how much Jon is in the show this season. I'm guessing TLC may move the show in more of a Kate only direction.

So much for the shared custody. I guess Jon would much rather get photographed with his girlfriend of the week out having fun in the Hamptons than going to the UPS store in PA.

Yes, I was wondering about that too. But the original schedule would have been impossible to keep with Kate having that TLC shooting on the weekend -- I can't imagine her just showing up for the 8 hour shoot and then going home alone. Maybe they've decided to just go with the flow and work around Kates's schedule -- bad idea, since that would require getting along with each other at least a little bit.

Looks like the PR firm that Jon recently hired has told him to cool it with his partying bachelor ways. It is in Jon's best interest right now to stop the dating scene, I would guess his attorney has also told him that his recent behavior won't do him any favors in court.

And that PR firm obviously reads the Dis Forums. :rotfl: We now control Kate AND Jon.

Yup that kinda scares me. :scared1: Especially since we don't know what either of them did over the weekend (yet) -- there's always something.

Holy cow! That is seriously the best ice-cream I have ever tasted! We were visiting family in Lexington and they took us here for dessert. Well, let's just say that I was addicted and was thrilled to find that they had a drive thru! I don't want to admit to how many times I ate there in 2 weeks! Ah, the coffee fudge ice-cream...a little slice of heaven! :cloud9:

Back on topic too...I wonder what kind of drama will happen between now and Aug. 3rd. Hopefully none but I'm not too confident!

Oh boy! So hanging out with the rich and famous (or infamous) is teaching him about putting family first???????
:confused3

I don't recall any shoot this weekend. There were pictures of them all weekend, check just jared and radaronline. Jon's still partying in the Hampton's and Kate has been playing with the kids in the yard and going to a park.

Jon mentions he will be home soon, let's see how long he stays this time. Last time it seemed like 2 days before he was playing at a park with Hailey.

I don't know if this was mentioned earlier or not but does anyone notice how Jon is dressing more his age now that he is with the new Kate and her group rather than how he was dressing when he was with Hailey. I haven't seen him in any Ed Hardy in awhile. :lmao:

Maybe Jon still doesn't know who he is yet because the way he dresses is being determined by who he is hanging out with at the time. :confused3

It's funny how I had never heard of Ed Hardy before in my life, and now this weekend I saw a few different designs. I was at the mall and I saw E.H. sneakers, and in a magazine I saw E.H. bikinis. Maybe the name wouldn't have stood out to me before Jon and all of this nonsense.
I agree- Jon has a funny way of showing that his family comes first. I saw some old episodes of J&K+8 and it left me feeling so sad. The way the kids would run to the door to see Jon after he had just been away working for the day and how they missed him so much. And the episode where Jon and Kevin were hanging the new shelving system in the garage in their old house, and the little kids were going crazy knowing Jon was home but they couldn't see him. They must miss him terribly to go days and days without seeing him!
I wonder if Jon or Kate ever watch old reruns of their show.

I meant the TLC one.

Well, Ed Hardy dropped his picture from their website. Looks like that deal is done with. I wouldn't blame him for being a bit bitter about the loss of freebies from them, but he messed that one up on his own.

Having said that, the way he's dressing seems like the only solid news there is. Just a recap:
* tabloids said he was dating Deanna -- everyone involved denied it. Right after the divorce announcement, the story was that Deanna and Jon were engaged
* Jon goes to St. Tropez with Hailey Glassman -- he doesn't deny the trist, but now says they're taking it slowly. In the meantime, there are reports that he is engaged to her. Maybe he's working for Ed Hardy -- some stories say there is no deal.
* Jon goes to the Hamptons with Kate2 -- she says there's a romance. Some stories say Jon admits it, others he denies it.

:confused3:confused3:confused3
JMHO, Jon had a fling with Hailey Glassman but it didn't take long for him to realize how immature she is -- not talking the difference in age between Jon and Hailey -- Kate is 12 years older than Hailey, and Hailey doesn't even act 22. the Kate2 thing really hasn't been given enough time to play out for me to accept the validity one way or the other.

I lurk on this thread, but here's my first comment:

I never heard of Ed Hardy before either. Then I was at the mall with my sis a couple of weeks ago and there was Ed Hardy stuff. Ugly IMO and way overpriced, but whatever.

Of all the people to hang out with in Hollywood, Jon picked Michael Lohan? Now *there's* a good father, lol.

I just don't know what to say anymore. If those quotes are real, why does he have to comment? The more he says, the worse he comes across. He supposedly just said his heart is with Hailey, now it's with Kate2, he just looks so childish and high school. It also shows, if true, that he doesn't value his relationships much. He talks about how wonderful the Glassmans were to him and this sure doesn't seem like the best way to maintain that relationship.
