IMO, neither Jon nor Kate can stand to be out of the spotlight. they're both smart enough to know that if the exposure stops, so does the money. I don't think it's a coincidence that these stories are getting leaked.

Must be a joke. There's nothing on TLC or Discovery Health regarding this program tonight.

It IS a joke. The article was posted on July 4th. The black & white picture is not of the Duggars and it mentions at the bottom of the article "humorous fabrication".

How do I know this? I went RUNNING over to the DVR today when I read this to set up for tape and saw its a woman preggers for 45 yrs so I actually went back and read the small print

and in all seriousness, reading this article (that has more details about the event) .. I'm not sure where Kate Gosselin fits in with this event. Obviously, Maria Shriver does .. but, wow. To suggest that Kate is even in the same ballpark as some of these women .. I didn't get that at all.

Wow! Now I guess I don't see how Kate can relate to the other topics listed. I think it's odd that they're listing all the other speakers and not what Kate's going to speak about - unless I missed it which is totally possible! I'm guessing Jon will have the kids that week!

I completely disagree. What in the world is Kate going to talk about that is even in the same category as the other speakers? How to organize a garage, pack a lunch? And I want to make myself clear... in no way, shape, or form and I diminishing Kate's role as a mother. It's important.... valued. But at the end of the day, Kate's a mom. A mom with a large family. Where is that fitting in with Madeline Albright? Cindy McCain? Maria Shriver?

Totally agree! She's done some great things (in some people's eyes) with her family and business choices but that's certainly not for everyone and doesn't seem to compare to the other speakers....

Wow.....that's kind of sad. I wonder if the mom and dad are rethinking what "great friends" they have in J&K and the free tummy tuck now. I guess that's just not what I'd want for my child (dating a married man - even if he's in the process of getting divorced!).

OT - 5 days until we leave for DISNEY!!!! My DS4 (turning 5 next week) said to me the other night (family has NO CLUE where we're going - they think we're having a "special birthday dinner") "Mommy I know you're taking us to Disney for our birthday because me and Carter really want to go there!". Talk about guilting Mommy about Disney. Then I had to look at him and tell him no, honey we're not going to Disney for your birthday! I so wanted to add, but the morning of your birthday we're having breakfast with MICKEY!!!! I cannot wait! DH works Saturday so I can pack, Corbin's birthday party is Sunday, we both work Monday and I took Tuesday off. DH got ansy and took half a day off Tuesday so we're going to be on the road by 12:30 and I'll have spilled the beans by 2:30! WOOHOO!!! 6 days at Disney!

Alright....sorry. Can you tell I'm getting excited????

Back to J&K - DH's going to the NFA in Oct and they'll only be a couple of hours (according to DH) from J&K's house. I told him I wanted him to go (knowing he's not a fan and just picking on him!) and take a picture for me since I can't go! DS4 jumped off the couch and said "NO! Take me with you!! I want to see Kate plus 8 (that's what he calls them!)!! I want her to be my mom and I want 8 brothers and sisters!! But.....we have to bring my mom too so her and Kate can be friends!". My poor child is obsessed with "Kate Plus 8". He'd be a fan sitting on the side of the road if we'd let him. He does get his passion about things from his mommy!

I think the whole Kate having an affair was just tabloid fodder, as was this new story about Jon starting the rumours. Like the tabloids really need a source to print something nasty about somebody -- or that they were abducted by aliens. Show me a photo or an interview, I might believe it.

I never heard of Radar Online until they latched on and promoted the Octomom . A "source" can say anything they want and the supposed "media" can hide behind the Constitution and not have to reveal their sources. We don't know if that article is true and we don't know if either of the Gosselin's leaked it. Sadly you can't believe half of the stuff on the internet and TV .

I think they have stayed out of the spotlight for the most part. It was good that they came together for the kids on the 4th of July, I hope they can be civil to one another.

I so agree with this. She is just finding a way to survive with these children. You have to give her credit for that. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to raise 6 babies all the same age and twins. I remember seeing an interview with her when she said she didn't know how she survived the first 2 yrs of the kids life, and she meant literally. Her life and her children's would never have been "normal" by standard ideas, and I find her courageous and a survivor. Certainly not perfect, and she has always been the first to admit it.

I don't understand this school of thought. Are other mom's of multiples not surviving? Are they dying of fatigue or cabin fever? She has had tons of physical and monetary support since the very beginning. I do worry about her emotional support, but the lack of that sounds like much of her doing. I don't find her a survivor. What has she overcome? The result of voluntary fertility treatments? She and her kids' lives are obviously unique, but the way they actually live is by far mostly a choice. She is healthy and wealthy with eight healthy kids. Blessed for sure, but not courageous to me. I think it's mostly just sad that she seems to have no one, even with all of the people hovering around her. What good are blessings if you don't have loved ones to share them with?

The reason I've always believed it was Jon was because of the story that he went to Kevin and Jodi and told them Kate was having an affair. I always suspected he created the story to get Kevin and Jodi on his side and then I think maybe it was Kevin and Jodi who actually "broke" the story.

I just read that one too. I think it is just horrible that he would give up on his family for some 20 something girl. It is such a shame.

Hopefully the money will dry up soon and then he will have to stop living like a party boy.

I agree, and think that both sides will continue trying to spin every situation to their favor.

Over on another site they showed all the tabloid magazine covers for next week (People, Star, Enquirer, US, etc.) and one showed Kate with the twins and said she wanted to make them into the next Olsen twins. I do realize that you can take those stories with a grain of salt, but I also remember when Kate took the twins to get new modeling head shots and she seemed to be pushing them. IF that story happens to be true, I would beg her nooooo, please take these poor kids out of the public eye, don't get them more and more exposure. I hope her current visit to California isn't for a venture for them. Mady Olsen? Ugh.

J&K - money really isn't everything. Of course, I can say that because I'm not faced with turning down the prospect of making millions and millions of dollars.

I mean, who, married, says such a thing? But maybe I'm off base and it is more common than I know. But to be interviewed and knowing that my children will be able to hear me say such a thing is very stupid. If I had ever heard my dad say such a thing, I'd have been furious and lost respect for him.

I'm with you -- but I still don't believe anything that came out today. Yes, maybe Jon was in a restaurant with a girl in NY, but until they show him smooching with her I'm not going to think they're even dating, much less in love. Partly because, just 2 weeks ago, wasn't he supposed to be in love with somebody else?

Re the Hollywood thing -- yes, I can see that happening. Thank goodness it hasn't -- yet.

And you might be right, as I said, I could have been hearing it a different way. maybe his kids will hear his words a different way too. I hope.

While I think 22 is young to get married, I do not think it is *that* young. I was 22 and I was too young to get married but did anyway. But I never drone on and on about it. Jon seems to focus on it all too often. Too young is teens and I'm betting some of them don't drone on and on as Jon does.

Heck, he backpacked around Europe before he married. How many people get to have that opportunity. The whole thing colors my opinion of him. (and who even cares, )

I finally had all I need to not watch the show. Katie in Hollywood maybe a boo hoo movie deal , and Jon headed to Paris with the Plastic surgeons dd.

I am gagging, it is so gross. These girls have no pride, do they act like rock star groupies.

The kids will grow up, hopefully healthier out of the cameras. I watched all the park anttraction trips, and parties, now I can't do it. It has become tainted. I think Jons actions are being defiant, and cause for alarm for taking careof the kids. Something is so very wrong...
