I wouldn't be surprised if those two are working it out in therapy. Those two are NOT breaking up - at least not right now. Too much money is being made. This whole announcement thing is a great way to pull in all the nay sayers. These two will be fine. Now, I can't say what will happen 5 - 10 years from now, but tomorrow - those two (along with TLC) pulled the biggest 'punked' in reality TV.

As far as the charity stuff:

She donated a FREE bike. So really, OCC donated it.

Doesn't matter that it was free, she donated a bike that had been given to her. She could have sold it and kept the money. I would have. eBay here I come! So, she can't get credit for that either? Not good enough LOL?

The garage sales, this was the first year they donated their proceeds to charity, it was said in the interview "This year we decided to donate our profits..."

As for the charity garage sale, she said this year we decided to donate our profits to Children's cancer. We do this every year...donate the items the kids have outgrown or no longer use.

I just saw the program again and that's what I heard her say.

And the hospital thing left a bad taste in my mouth because she gave our her book, promotional materials for that movie (can't remember the name) and a CD. It seemed really set up to me.

Again, the books aren't made for free and people were enjoying them at that time. Many many toys were also given out. Other writers have given out their books as gifts.

What really turned me off of Kate was that she always told half-truths. She would say that they did it all alone, then in the next breath tell a news reporter that at one time they had up to 50 volunteers a day.

Yes, she had help..but she also did a lot of things in the begining, herself. She never hid that someone folded laundry, or did her ironing or that TLC brought in food on taping days. Yes, she complained and I'm sure some days felt like she was overwhelmed with 8 kids and people in and out..so who here hasn't? I am sure that many days they did feel like they did it alone, and some days they prob did. As for shopping, they may have saved up for that, for when they are off camera. They didn't always have all the clothing given to them. To me these are little things. IMO these shouldn't make a person be hated.

Little Jonas is 13 weeks old now and 16 pounds....sometimes I think he looks tiny, and sometimes I think he looks big...

Here he is sharing a drink with big sister Kacie who is a little over 60 pounds.

They are too cute. I have to ask. Where did you get the spelling for Kacie?

Well, that's your opinion. You asked why I didn't like her and I told you. I never said I hated her. How can I hate a person I don't know?

I don't like the show anymore and I don't care for Kate. I think she is a fake and tries to portray herself as one thing when she is another. My opinion, that you asked for...

I know this was posted before, but I thought this was very well done. Especially the section on Graciousness--The lesson you left out!!
The Gosselin's have one garage sale and donate the profits--big deal!!! All the other charity donations are set up by TLC and doesn't cost them a penny. Kate is not a very gracious person and this has been repeated several times by churches who have hosted her. She is no moviestar and as soon as this show goes off the air, the papparzzi will move on. She is the joke of every entertainment show out there. Next someone will be comparing her to "Mother Theresa"!

I think we (general) can be concerned about the kids without spewing hate.

I've yet to see one single person here on the DIS threads (regarding J&K) post that they "hate" Kate.. Maybe I just missed those posts.. It seems that whenever anyone posts an opposing view about Kate, someone invariably pulls out the "hate" card.. Hate is a very strong word when applied to a "person" - and I don't see people throwing it around on these J&K threads.. So either you are referring to other web sites - or there is a whole lot of mind reading and reading between the lines going on here..

I do not see any comparison between Princess Di and Kate Gosselin.

As far as I'm concerned, comparing Princess Diana and Kate Gosselin would be a huge insult to the late Princess..

Maria Shriver and Caroline Kennedy's children lead very private lives. They seem to be rarely photographed or reported on..

As parents, they have chosen to shield their children from all the madness - rather than put them on public display, as the Gosselins have chosen to do..

Can someone explain to me, just what Kate was supposed to have done to garner all this hate? So, what makes her the hated one?

Again - where are you finding all of these "Kate haters"? If you are finding them on other sites, why are you asking the questions here? Obviously no one here can tell you why people on other sites are stating that they "hate" her..

I agree that Princess Di was not adored by everyone. I watched a BBC documentary on her and was shocked at some of the things I learned.

They would "save up for shopping" when in fact it was paid by TLC or given for advertising. I could go on, but I think you get my point. She played he :whoa is me: card too many times for me when most of the things she was complaining about were being taken care of by other people.

She would have had to report that as income at the full market value, and anything custom by OCC is going to be a far cry from buying a Vespa at the local dealer. It was most likely donated by TLC in Kate's name, she never has to even put it on her taxes . She would not have been able to sell for enough to recoup the tax she would have had to pay on it.

I would say this type of post is a where one might *read* into the hate:

I do not see any comparison between Princess Di and Kate Gosselin. Princess Di was loved by everyone (except maybe her husband) and Kate Gosselin is hated by just about everyone (including her husband and notice I said "just about everyone" for people who still believe in her). Many articles have said Kate encourages the papparazzi and that was not the case with Princess Di. The only thing these two have in common is that they are both women. Princess Di did many wonderful things for charities, etc.....Kate basically does nothing but complain and feel sorry for herself.

I don't care how anyone feels about her. I don't know her well enough to "hate" her or "love" her. This is just an example of why someone might talk about the people who are not fans of kate are ''haters"--just like anyone who tries to see things more positively (bright side and all that) are "lovers".
I doubt Mousey hates kate gosselin. I think Mousey is probably more disgusted than anything. I think it is just the way the situation gets portrayed on BBs--unless it is a true hate BB and there are those out there, I suppose.

They are too cute. I have to ask. Where did you get the spelling for Kacie?

I'm not sure why I spelled it that way. I wanted to name her Chloe, but I had a dog named Cody at the time and for a day I called them both, Clody...so I went with second choice Kacie.

I liked it with a K for some reason....and it seemed to me that since she was a girl I should use ie instead of Kasey.

How the heck would we know this? That she might never have accepted it? And if she did accept it as a gift she would also get to write it off once donated. In any case, I would go so far to say, whatever it's value, because of what is going on right now, if she did decide to sell it, she would prob have made money. Color it anyway anyone wants..she donated it, and that should be something as seen as generous IMO. But of course, it's Kate, so there couldn't have been a generous thought about donating it.

I might have missed it..did Jon donate his too?

Your right Buckalew11--I don't hate Kate. I am disgusted by the way she is exploiting her kids. Nobody told them they had to put their family on public display. They have gotten enough freebies over the years to last a lifetime. They claim they are doing everything for their kids, but at what cost?

She didn't say YOU were saying you hated her. She was responding to your note, asking who is saying they hate Kate, and bolded where someone actually said they hated Kate. See the message below yours.

You may be onto something there. I'll be listening to see what happens. Won't watch--feel too bad for the 8 kids.
They didn't have a say in the actions of either of their parent's (in my opinion) very poor choices.

Don't have a clue about Monday - and won't be watching.. I'm sure it will be all over the news though - and here on the DIS in a blink of the eye.. Whatever the "big" announcment is, I would be very, very surprised if it lasted 5 minutes tops.. Word has it that the "drama" and "secrecy" is to draw viewers back in.. $$$$$$

And you know they don't give anything back, how? Because TLC has said this? Or just because they don't show it. You know she doesn't tithe, or give to charities, because the show doesn't show it? So, I assume no one on shows on TV gives to charities because we don't see it.
Have you ever sold anything that was a gift to you? On eBay, Craigs list, garage sale? Did you give the money from it to charity? Ever give something to the mission and take it off your income taxes, as a donation? It shouldn't matter how Kate got items she gave away. She didn't have to donate the money from them, but she did. I can't believe that she can't even get credit for what we know she has done LOL.
For the Ronald McDonald house, she wrote a check. I suppose that was TLC's checkbook?

I personally think it would be a shame if the crooked houses got donated. That's something the kids earned from being on the show and I don't regret one thing the kids get.

I'm not sure about the house in NC, but other than that, I agree with this post about the future of JK8 (the show, not necessarily the marriage). I think they're going to give the appearance of a happy ending for the purposes of the show, but after Kate's new book is released and they've fulfilled this season's contract, I predict a split.
