From US magazine, american academy of child psychiatry don't seem to fall into the catergory that I have coined "kate luvers"
I'm sure he doesn't love them. He usually does reviews about TV shows..he doesn't care for any of them that have children and hasn't for a long time.
I do wonder where he got this info:
"We only see what the editors decide to put in. What is it one-hundredth, one-thousandth of the amount of filming that's done? I don't think the audience appreciates that. The cameras don't run by themselves. What, do they have 30 or 40 people there filming these kids? I would imagine something like that."
Of course this is just a snippet of what he mentioned. He doesn't like the Family of 12, or LPBW, or the Duggers or any of the tv families. I haven't seen where he has interviewed them, or talked with them at all, and he does go back and mention the very old series, which we discussed on the last thread. While a lot of the kids in the 50's-60's shows had melt downs (however not all, and of course even kids who weren't in tv shows had meltdowns, especially in those early years), you just don't see it (at least I haven't) with a lot of the kids in the 70's-80's. I don't think we should continue to compare what they did way back then.
He's doing a lot of hypothosizing (sp?) for someone who has never talked to the family or the kids of this shows or other shows, but is comparing them to very old shows.
By the way, IMO, I found this just ridiculous:
"The sad part about this is: one of the things you teach kids in terms of child abuse, especially sexual abuse, is that there are boundaries. Your body is yours. You own your body. People can't put their hands on your body because it's your body. But I don't think this is teaching kids very much about boundaries that people can just walk into their bedroom and take picture of them. "
