Since I have no idea where the money is going, I wouldn't be able to say that. For all I know, it's being banked for the kids future. Do you know something I don't? I don't exactly see the fame. I see her out pushing a book, and giving speaches about raising a family. Many other celebrities have done the same. Usually they are male, so that seems to be OK..if they are away during the book release.
She must be home some of the time, if they are in the middle of taping. I am glad they have a house that protects the kids somewhat, and she seems to be keeping them protected at home. Of course those long range lenses can still capture some, as they did with Jon and his friends.

I'm assuming the money is going for the mortgage on their extravagant house, her nail and hair upkeep, as well as a wardrobe that you must have because you're in the public eye all the time. And even if every penny is being banked, do you really think it was worth the price the entire family paid while she was out selling herself/image? Wasn't this the family that spouted family values and how important God was in their lives? When was the last time you heard anything about the Lord in their relationship?

If she were home frequently enough, she'd know her husband wasn't. And you can't tell me she didn't know about his 23 year old girlfriend. The woman is at her house lounging around in the yard, you don't think the kids happened to mention it?

I'm not sure how their house protects them? You don't believe the kids' friends at school haven't mentioned anything to them, and there aren't whispers around town? Are the children now sequestered in their own house so none of this gets to them?

I only mentioned that because it's been mentioned on this thread how much better the other shows are. One that has been on a awhile is having their problems too..and the other is too new to know.
Not all kids who have been on TV shows turn out to be druggies..that was the point I was making.
Kate may not be making all the right decisions, but because all I have to go on is mostly trash magazines, until I see it to the end, I really don't know what is true and what isn't.
Als, I do find it funny that she wore the same shoes several other times in picutres, both with a shorter skirt and pants, and nothing was said. But now it's 'trash' Kate time, because Jon supposedly got caught cheating and the assumption is, it was because she's out pushing her book. Do any of us have any idea if this is the first time for Jon? Maybe Kate feels this is a good time for her to make her and her childrens future secure, because I don't think she'd see a lot of child support with Jon if they were to split. I doubt this show will run much longer, and so hopefully, she'll get back on track (if she was ever off) with the kids, and they will still have what some here feel is a normal childhood.

it's been speculated on the blogs (reportedly from locals) for some months now that when they moved to the big house, Jon started living in the garage.

I dont think he cheated because she was pushing her book. People cheat for several reasons and sometimes it's just because they wanted to. And I dont think anyone really thinks it's ok that Jon cheats ..but like others have said..just because he cheats doesn't mean that automaticly pushes Kate out of the way of any blame at all. I am willing to bet they both played a hand in the downfall...and I doubt it started because of the cheating. (that's my opinion and i'm entitled to that)

As for the apartment above the garage...i have no clue about that at all.

We must be looking at different pictures. 9 inch heels? I see her in heeled sandals and a denim skirt, with a nice blourse and a jacket covering her top, just like many other people dress her age. The hair is the same cut she's had for a long time..back when we used to like her. She doens't look motherly? LOL..what does motherly look like? That's too funny. Tlaking trash about her sounds just like the rag mags. Especially when there is nothign wrong with what she has on. Go into any office and that is what 30 somethings look like.

We also have no idea how much time she spent with her kids. It would make a very poor story, even if the kids were right next to her, to have them in the picture. We don't know if they were in school, home napping..no idea, but she's a bad person because they aren't with her on her many trips running around (which in reality might be one trip to town, to pick up something and back home). Yep, all of us here on the Diz spend every waking moment with our children. None of us travel for work (of course none of write books either and out pushing the book is usually part of the contract), none of us do anything that we might think will help our children's future (right or wrong, in our minds..I'm sure right in hers).

We all absolutely know these kids are going to grow up and be awful teenagers, because their parents taught them that everything they want is there for the taking. Yep, we all know that. That's because we have seen so many shows in the past just like this, where every child turned out to be a druggie. Yep, we know that. None of the other reality family's are doing placement..yeah, right. No spaghetti sauce for the other people, no free special stroller, no help from the friends and neighbors. Nope, the other kids will all turn out ok.

Pictures of her with her bodyguard. How strange is that. I guess we aren't supposed to be able to see her body guard. Or better she should go out by herself and be driven into a wall, as she tries to outrun all these trash magazines.

And Jon..yes, he wanted to quit..we could tell that by the 6 words he spoke. He didn't want anymore of the money or the beautiful house. I see that he went right out and tried to get himself hired again..good luck with that after he lied about why he was fired from the last job. Or, perhaps it was publicity to get us all taking. How the heck do we know?

How do we know any of this. Like I said, I wonder if they would have made it even if they didn't have this show.

Let all of us without any problems in our lives or the lives of our children, step up and throw the first stones out (and you have to have gone through all the teen years with at least one girl and one boy, before you can throw that stone).

I assume her mouth is open in the pictures because the rag mags are throwing questions out to her..and she is saying..no comment, or we are doing the best we can.

I am not "ripping her to shreds" for sport. I simply can't stand when someone is so fake and they want everyone to believe they are something they obviously are not. I am simply commenting on my opinion of her. And quite simply, as long as she is taking money for being in the public eye, as long as she puts herself in my living room on my television, she is fair game. She did so thinking everyone would think she is supermom and would love her, but I don't think she is. I think she is far from it. I could give way more tips on raising an organized and busy family that she can and I have half the kids. I can also do it while treating my husband with respect. The thing is I also have one tenth the help. I actually do it all my own. So it sickens me that she puts her tatooed, mini skirt , red leather jacket/salmon t-shirt clashing self out there as a role model mom. I don't understand why people buy into this garbage.

As far as Jon being the cheater and her being the bad guy. She isn't the bad guy because Jon cheated. She was ALWAYS the bad guy. She has been pimping out her family, verbally abusing her husband on national TV, going nuts on her kids for things like drips of ice cream on their free clothes while on a free vacation , etc for years now. Jon became a cheater. But that is not why I dislike her.

There is the possibility that Kate doesn't want to spend time with them. It's clear she is on a mission to continue the marketing of the Kate Gosselin brand. That is what seems to be Kate's focus right now and nothing else.

FWIW, I'm glad they're (mostly) keeping the kids away from any and all opportunities for pictures right now. This has nothing to do with them. They did not ask to be born into this circus.

I've been one from the time I saw her wear heels to the dog breeder that's complained about the heels - they just don't strike me as a kid-friendly shoe speaking as both a mom and former nanny, preschool teacher and child development center employee.

I really don't know if what happened happened because she was out selling her book. I really don't have any idea what has really gone on in her household. Just what they want us to know. I do know that they decided, since she was the most marketable, John would be a stay at home dad. If the rolls were reversed, I doubt people would have a problem with the selling of the book. I also assume this is short lived, as it was when other's had books out.

I have heard that she gives credit to the Lord for her family when speaking. I was told by someone in the area, they still go to church. But I don't know any of that for sure, since I don't live in the area, and they have tried to keep that private.

As for the house..I thought when they bought it, TLC had something to do with paying for a lot of it..since they were setting up a studio at the out building. Did that not happen?

As for her jacket not 'matching' her blouse. It's a jacket..you know, a coat. I have a couple that might not match what I have under it. That doesn't make me trashy (I hope LOL). Maybe 30 somethings dress differently, in different parts of the country but I was at the doctors yesterday, and both of the gals (about Kate's age, because they were talking about their 10 year olds)behind the counter had on short skirts and heels (and those are not 9 inch heels Kates wearing LOL). I'm sure that isn't how Kate dresses when she's playing with the kids in the yard. And she may very well play with the kids in the yard, but now that she is out in the boonies, it's less likely any camera's other than TLC would be there. That is what I meant about protection.

And if you haven't had teenagers..believe me..it's not the same as not having to eat something dirty to know it tastes bad. You really have to experience it (I've had 3) to know the frustration/changes/hormones, etc with most of them..it's just not the same, if you haven't lived with and been responsible for them. It's like people without kids thinking they know how they should be brought up..just because it's so easy.

She probably hasn't had the silly Pooh with Honey Pot tatoo removed because no one has stepped forward to offer to remove it for free. It is a fitting tat though - Pooh greedily gobbling up honey out of a honey pot, like kate gobbling up money from her "honey pot" of sextuplets.

At this point I don't think she has an option. She made her bed -- expensive taste, freebies forever, and what I'm sure is an astronomical mortgage for the new house they HAD to have. She stops marketing herself and her and Jon divorce, how will they pay their obligations? I'm sure they couldn't afford that mortgage without the huge amount of money they get from the show. And they'd actually have to start paying for things instead of getting everything for free. If this cash cow up and dies, there will be a foreclosure real soon and then what? Seems like there's a very good reason why all their family stays far, very far away from them.

Umm, no. I'm 30 and know a ton of 30 somethings. We dress better than that. I guess the skirt and shoes are fine. But the top and jacket are a weird combo and the hair, my God, the hair! DH calls it the b**** spike.



Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember seeing numerous posts on here saying that there was no excuse for Jon to cheat. But there's no need to paint Kate as an innocent victim. Jon's cheating doesn't automatically make her a saint.


Well, that's one of her problems. In her warped view she may think this is helping her kids. But the thing they probably need most in this trying time is their mother and father.


As a friend of mine likes to say, I don't need to eat s**t to know it tastes bad. And most of us here don't need to have raised a girl and boy past teen years to know dysfunctional when we see it.

I am soon to be thirty and I don't dress like that, either. I feel silly now wearing shorts that come too far up my thigh. Makes me feel like I'm trying to be a teenager again. I don't see too many of my friends dressing like that, either.

Looks like my carry on, but even if it isn't. I have been married for a lot years, and I wouldn't be sharing a suticase. I assume she has a larger suitcase, and it was checked. Or maybe they are getting off the plane and her luggage hasn't been picked up yet. Or maybe she is being trailed with a proter with her suitcase. I think it's very funny that any of us would focus on there being one suitcase. He's her bodyguard, not her slave LOL. Maybe she has to get her own suitcase.

As for the shoes, as I said, they are not 9 inch, more like 4", and I doubt she plays in the yard with them. She was dressed up, and they were appropriate. She looks nice in a shorter outfit and she has worn them several times. She also wears pants often and she's wearing pants and those shoes in the pics AOL is showing today.

It was stupid to wear heels when she went dog hunting, but even when Jon said something, she commented that it's not like she'll be outside in the mud. Surprise to her! Speaking of the dogs, didn't someone say they wouldn't be in this years show, because of allergies, that Kate got rid of them?

Yep, she does look a lot different in the past 1/2 dozen years. She's lost all that weight from having 6 babies, and had her hair cut and frosted. Prop like a lot of people on these boards. I think she looked cute before, and looks cute now. I'm not thrilled with the patch at the back of her hair, but then it's her hair, and if she likes it, well, it's her hair.

I don't believe that the house will be theirs, free and clear, if this show tanks in the very near future. I'm sure there had to be some sort of stipulation that they have to "repay" with "x" amount of episodes, etc. and if they don't, they become financially responsible, especially if the reports are true and they've been fighting as badly as being reported by Kate's brother. TLC must have known this was a train wreck waiting to happen and I can't believe they'd spend that kind of money without a little CYA.
