I can understand if you personally don't find her inspirational, however, I don't think she's lying when she says she has many moms tell her that. I'm sure a lot of ppl. tell her that. It's just like with any celibrity, some will love them and think they're inspirational and others won't at all.

I can also completely see ppl. being upset that she talks about always being a SAHM while she's out doing speaking engagements and writing books ect. I guess I've just never really thought about it, or cared. I think I always assumed that she meant she used to be a full time SAHM and that even now, she doesn't have a usual 9-5 ect. job but I can definetly see the other side of that.

I am not inspired by Kate either. I'm sure she inspires some and that those people express this to her. I can't name a celebrity type I am "inspired" by though.
I think of the book tour as being a short termed thing taking her away from home for many days out of a month for several months. But she won't do a book tour forever (until the next book ). The speaking engagements--well, if they are a few weekends out of a month then to me she is a stay at home mom. If she is gone for week long retreats with these women then I'd say she was not a SAHM. Just MPOV.

just my opinion, but when i think of a sahm or look to the women i've known that have left their employment to become sahm's it's been with the ideal of being able to facilitate staying at home to mother their children for as much of the time their children are physicaly at home as possible. based on this, while a few weekends per month might not seem like allot of time, if the kids are attending school (and i don't know if the younger ones do full or half day kindergarten) then even with a best case scenario (during a non book promotion tour) of 3 weekends a month, that's a significant chunk of time for self professed sahm to be gone.

I don't know about the Table for 12 family, but I think there have people on this thread who live in their area .. I think, until the show, they've survived on his job and donations?

other examples? The Duggars. Until they got to child 13, 14, 15 (? not sure ?) ... they got by without a TV show. Dad is very financially savvy, and they're debt free.

The McCaugheys? I know they reaped the benefits of an unusual birth early on, but I don't think they even did a yearly update this year. I'm not sure, but I think only dad works.

I have a friend with 7 kids, they're spread out over several years .. but they've gotten by over the years, sometimes on one salary.

I did read some where I think in Red book that the mom works now.

I was going to post this a few days ago.
kate was suppose to do some kind of book signing at a Sam's Club in Arkansaw. Some speculated that she was also going there to seal some kind of contract with Walmart. I've been in Walmart and they have tv's in some area's, and Jon and Kate have a running commercial, I am assuming they already do have something with Walmart.

So if she came home late last nite, she has to be jet-lagged.
Whenever I travel home I am exhausted the next day. I still go to work, but that feeling of "I call it, getting hit by a mack truck" is there all day. I just wonder how Kate deals with it. And, is she flying commercial yet? or I wonder if she is hiring a "charter jet". I have a friend that sells "shares" in Wisconsin to Corporations and rich people. It's just like DVC, you purchase points, and then you can use the jet, for how many points you purchased.

some of them are slamming her pretty hard for this weekend-apparantly she did a book signing out of state yesterday and is schedualed to be live on the 700 club monday (i think they are out of atlanta), live on rachel ray tuesday (new york), and then begining wednesday will be doing several days of appearances and events in michigan ("tea with kate"????). the bloggers are wondering if she's even "bothering" to try and make it home today for mother's day or the sextuplet's birthday.

even if she does make it home i can't imagine (without someone else doing all the planning and organizing and her catching some serious sleep during travel) them being able to pull off much of a birthday celebration (at least not of the level she's always professed in the past she's committed to having for them every year)

For those who question the critics of Kate, I am a sahm, and I am insulted to see Kate on tv and say that she is a inspiration to mothers, and how she consistently says one thing and then her actions are complete opposite.

I think Kate says that because people tell her that. She's said it on the show before that some people have told her that when they see she can do it with 8 kids, they feel like they can do it with their 1, 2 or 3 even when they are having a rough day.

Kate does seem to have a problem choosing the correct words to say. It reminds me sometimes of kids that don't have that filter yet.

As far as the Hayes family receiving donations:

Six car seats already were waiting for the children, he said. The family has received donations of clothing and supplies, as well as financial help.

i figured it was live because the website says she's going to be talking about their marital problems. given that it's still kind of "breaking news" with new allegations coming up daily (like the stuff that's now being posted about jon not being the only parent whose "strayed") i would tend to think that most talk shows would'nt want to film it in advance (could be very dated depending on what might come out on a day to day basis).
