Hi! I drop in every now and again just to see what kind of nonsense is being spread on here. There was a photo of Jon and 2 girls but it looked like 2 fans that had actually just asked for a photo with him but it was just what the haters needed to fuel the fire. UNLESS...he's an idiot and was dumb enough to be cheating on Kate in a very public place knowing photos were being taken of him. I tend to think it was just fans...but then again, I don't pick everything they do apart and ridicule every aspect of thier lives like a lot of folks who don't have anything better to do. I tend to think of them as being fortunate to have the opportunities and experiences they have because of the show. Otherwise, they would still be struggling to get by and stressed to the max. Others would prefer they live that way since Jon and Kate are money hungry owners of a sweat shop where they force thier kids to perform for the cameras and are damaging them for life and warping thier personalities.(At least thats what some want you to believe.)

Most everything you read on here is pure negative gossip. There are a few who remain neutral and a few actual fans of the Gosselins.

Coconuts, this is actually one of the more balanced, thoughtful threads you'll find. Some of us (dare I say even most of the "regulars") actually use logic and put some thought into our posts as opposed to some other blogs/threads out there on both sides (pro and anti). Yes, there are a few posters here who are, well, "iffy," but I think you'll find this is a pretty balanced and civil thread.

I totally agree and I am a true fan of the show. I am not a hater, as my DH has turned into(mostly out of jealousy, I think). After I saw the finale, I hoped they would be back for season 5.

Speaking of that, anyone know when season 5 is tenatively planned for?

Actually this thread is quite friendly even though both sides are expressed. I feel the people are civil and don't jump down each others throats. It is most definitely NOT a hater's thread. We are all entitled to our opinion and here on the disboards, I think it's expressed well and thoughtfully.

The posters on here who disagree with the J&K+8 and their choice to broadcast their lives, do so (I believe) out of concern for their kids and the parents motives. I wouldn't consider it negative gossip as you stated above.

The posters on here who agree with J&K+8 think that they're doing the best they can with the opportunties given to them. Yes, there are fans of the show here as well.

I don't think it's something to get worked up over. This thread isn't like those crazy ones you see where they hate Kate and nit-pick every little thing she does and accuse them of child exploitation. I have read some of those sites and it's frightening to see so much hatred toward a family they don't even know.

I don't recall anyone on this thread accusing Jon of cheating on Kate. I think that was the gossip mags/shows. I think he has been accused here of making poor choices. He has admitted to going to an off campus house party with college kids; not a good choice most would agree for a thirty something married guy. I'm just sayin'.

I also think it is interesting that you think they'd be struggling to get by without the series, and that they are now (because of the show) not "stressed to the max." I don't see it that way at all. I think they would be fully capable of giving their kids a great life (financially speaking) using their skills as a nurse/IT guy (?) and having the occassional ad, endorsement or special show without the stress of the uber scrutiny they have put themselves under. Just my opinion; no rumor mongering here. Lastly (I promise) I always laugh when someone posting on a blog site accuses other posters of having nothing better to do with their time!

I htink people were more "concerned" that he wasn't necessarily cheating on Kate, but rather was going out partying without her, probably without her knowledge or consent (but obviously that's people reading into things themselves). Also, he seemed quite buzzed in those photos, and people were "concerned" about his drinking when he's supposed to be a more "wholesome" celebrity with a clean image.

It's quite apparent that those photos have affected the way he now has to deal with the media and his outings, especially after watching the Season4 finale. I don't think, until those photos surfaced, that he had a true moment of realization that he's an actual celebrity and that people really are watching his every move at this point. Not his fault he wanted to go out and let loose, but I think the backlash in regards to those pictures really brought his self realization into focus. Especially all the gossip about his "flirting" with college coeds, etc.

It almost seems that the relationship between Jon and Kate had become strained enough, without adding in that extra bit of made up drama. I hope they make it through this beast they've subjected themselves to, and find some way to find a teensy bit of normalcy in their lives. If not only for themselves, but mostly for the kids' sake.

They're currently filming season 5 and the premiere will be sometime in May. There is a JK8 special, Gosselins Go Green, scheduled to air on Earth day.

Just found this and new to the thread, so hi! I couldn't find it in pp, but whatever happened to Carla, Beth, Aunt Jodie, and their young helper, Jenny? I am pathetically clueless when it comes to gossip and just yesterday heard about some scandal where Jon went to some bar and partied with college girls. What's the deal? Sorry, I don't know anything. If there aren't updates on the Disney Channel, I don't hear about it.
