I guess I am in the middle here all of our pets were named by me essentisally. BUT the kids all had approval and we knocked 2 or 3 around before the final.

We have a had a Sophie complete agreement. a Sid complete agreement.
A sam again no conflict.

A shelter cat named Tony changed to Sal. also no conflict.
Sunny. shelter cat already named.
Our last was a puppy we didn't wanted to use the S anymore.

Htere was strife over Eddy VS Vinny. In the end vinny won ourt because it sopunded better yelled off the deck. As in Yo Vinny.

It was all in the way Kate represented it. She presented it emanly it wasn't a very nice delivery.

I agree that was childish. That really was not very nice of her to say. :sad2: And I know someone will say, oh, we've all said things we shouldn't. Sure we have, but Kate knows she is being filmed and these shows are memorializing her family's important moments, so you think she would be more aware. It's important what we say to our kids.

I am by no means a defender of Kate, she gets on my last nerve. But I do agree with the way they handled the naming of the dogs, and if Mady where my child, She would still be in her room for that little outburst. Lord that child needs some discipline , Anyway. I got off topic. yes we have all said those things, but from what I understand, is that after a while, you forget that you are being filmed and say what comes to mind. I too have said those words to my kids and I also very recently screamed that our new puppy was going back because I was mad at something he did. The kids did finally realize I was teasing after about the 10 th time of me saying it. But sometimes we just say things in the heat of the moment.

You really wouldn't involve your kids in naming another child? I guess thats what is different. My kids were involved in picking out the name of their sister. In fact we went with the name they picked over the one I had picked out. As for picking the name of a pet, we didn't pick our pets name, he came to us already named, but if he hadn't I would have let the kids have a say in what we picked.

I wouldn't let my kids have a say in their siblings name. My child, My name. When they create it and carry it and push it out. then they can have a say in the naming of said child but not before then.

Okay, but do you agree it was childish or uncalled-for? I'm confused if you are defending Kate or not? :confused3

I just wanted to post a picture of my doggies!

They are smiling! How sweet!

I haven't seen this episode with the dogs. I'd thought about giving up JK8 for lent ... but clearly, I'm going to have to watch this one to see what all the fuss is about! :happytv:

I'm glad to know that people that agree with Gosselins and you are right and everyone else is egotistical and wrong. I'll keep that in mind when replying to this discussion thread in the future. I was stating my opinion in a sarcastic way just as the previous poster had stated her opinion as fact.

Yes, because naming a human child is no different than naming a dog. Give me a break. I would never involve my children in naming another child other than to say "This is the name we picked out for your new baby brother/sister." Let's compare apples to apples here, kay?

Ok...first off, I'm pretty much sure its a fact that J&K made the decision that they felt was the right one for their family. It may be your opinion that it was the wrong decision, but it's still a fact that they made the decision based on what they believed was the best interest of the family.

Where oh where did I say anything about the kids naming a child? That doesn't even make sense? What I said WAS...

I can just imagine all the hoopla if she let the kids pick names, because no way would they all agree and I'm sure Kate would have been called evil because she picked Hannah's name instead of Joel's. Nevermind that Hannah wanted to call the puppy Scout and Joel wanted to name him Poopybutt. (I totally made that up btw) I can hear it now, "poor Joel, what's wrong with the name Poopybutt?? Kate is so mean to the boys".

:lmao: I am giving up ice ream, please feel free to help me and pm me that I am not to eat ice cream.

I thought I add that my son wanted to name my daughter RUPERT, after a cartoon. Family would say to him "what is going to be the baby's name and he would say I am naming it RUPERT." My husband and Mom named her!

Ummm... I don't think she said anything about picking names for the kids. I'm pretty sure she was saying that ppl. would say Kate's "evil" because she picked Hannah's name for the dog over Joel's name for the dog.

OK, I watched the majority of the puppy episode. I will admit, Kate is getting on my nerves. And I've spent the past 2 years defending her.

I've never owned a dog, but even I could have guessed that puppies aren't housebroken and will go on the floor if someone doesn't take them outside. DUH!! What did she expect? She probably would have been better off getting kittens, but I'm certain some of the kids are allergic (probably the group that was on the nebulizers.)

I don't think we'll be seeing the puppies for much longer. I'm sure the breeder said he would take them back because SOMEONE asked him what would happen if they didn't work out. Also, I can't believe that Kate would even want to adopt 2 large dogs. I do feel bad for the kids when the puppies are returned.

With that ... Mady grates on me. I enjoy the show more when she's not around. I give her parents credit for not regularly trying to strangle her. Maybe that's only done off camera. (Kidding).

Lastly, Kate has lost a lot of weight. I noticed it last night.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood your statement. Everyone here gets so defensive with anyone who doesn't side with Kate. I hope that this can stay a discussion thread and not an "attack anyone who doesn't agree with everything that the Gosselins do" thread.

I agree Fergie, she has lost a lot of weight. And I wonder if that tan is real or a spray tan. Either way, it made her teeth look really white.

I also noticed the weight loss and was wondering about the tan - she was really dark. My sil looks that way when she goes to the 'spray tan', so, I bet it was a 'spray on'.

Apology accepted. :) I don't think there is anyone on this thread that thinks Kate is perfect. I know I don't.

I think they were nuts for getting dogs and have said that many times, but I do wish them well.

Or not. Pretty sure I was just trying to get you to point out your claims.

This is a debate thread. You're going to get differing, conflicting even, points of view. You know this. I don't know why you're so surprised someone wants you to back up your claims. You've been on here long enough to know that you can't post things and not expect to have your post...uh...discussed. You keep pointing out it's a discussion thread, so don't be offended if the discussion doesn't go the way you want.

Again, please show me where she stated her opinion as fact. If you don't, I'll assume you can't.

You already admitted your mistake on this quote, so I won't correct you again. See...I'm nice.

Oh, I do. I have a Kate shrine. I'll bring pictures so you can see. ;)

Some of the kids are on nebulizers? :faint: Wow. I'm even more surprised in their choices, then.

I don't know if it's from a tanning bead or sprayed on, but I have to say I think she's looking way too dark. It's just too over the top for me now, I guess, but I suppose she likes it:confused3
