Well maybe they were waiting to get a new table and chairs until they moved into the bigger house. Sine they knew they would be moving at some point it was probably easier to just use what they had and wait until they found a new house to get a bigger table.

I was thinking that too.....but the bibs need to go. While I agree that if they are eating something really messy then maybe put one on, but it appears that bibs are an every meal deal at their house. If I had a 4 year old that needed a bib I would at least get the ones without the snaps that they could pull over their head by themselves. Heck, it seems like the little kids could probably help each other with their bibs rather than just sit and wait for someone else to do it.

:thumbsup2

I don't think they could realistically put a larger table in there.

For a show that I loved and really looked forward to every week, I'm just so disappointed that it feels like its coming to an end. Its become such a SNOREfest. I can't believe they can squeeze much out of this family anymore and make it watchable. I have a feeling that this will be the very last season we'll see of the Gosselin's.

oh, I don't know about that. There's a another book coming out - the endorsements are just getting started - I don't think we're through with them yet.

I can deffiently see them cutting down on the number of new shows. Now they are doing what 40 something per year? Most shows only have 16 - 20 shows per year.

I'm really surprised about staying in PA. What happened to the desire for a warmer climate? :cool2:

Did they build their own house?

About the bibs and the high chairs. I'm a Jon and Kate fan. And I did notice it and thought it was very strange.

I think I heard on the View the issues aren't about bottles/breastfeeding/high chairs/bibs (I'm loosely putting J and K's high chairs and bibs in the same category) being harmful per se - on their own. I think Sherry was asking about her son being on the bottle at an advanced age. It's about treating your children like they're toddlers/babies when they're not. I think the fear is it limits their ability to see themselves as more grown up. And advance emotionally from that period of growth.

I, unfortunately, am not a mother. So just sharing some doctor's thoughts on the issue.

Kate should have put these high chairs on her wish list....they are nice and don't look like they are for babies.

I agree with the PP in that bib/highchairs are not the problem, but it seems like they are still treating them like they are babies when they are not.

I worked at a preschool for a short time before I joined the military and I had 3 year olds that couldn't put on a pair of shorts because Mommy or Daddy always did it for them. While it saved time in the morning, it didn't help the child out any.

In your opinion, not fact

 Good Lord.

The Gosselin children are 4 years old. they go to school, where it is highly likely they do not sit in high chairs. Those children appear to have good table manners, and we see them sitting at tables in other episodes for various activities. I cannot see any reason why they should be sitting in a high chair at home... the high chair/bib combo makes them look like babies, which they clearly are not.

Were Cara & Mady sitting in high chairs in the earliest episodes of the show, when they were 4 years old?

Madge - any insight/background on the decision to stay in Pennsylvania?

I'm so curious about it. I'm not on any other J and K thread. Any thoughts.

according to the blogs, they bought a 1.something million dollar house in Berks Co, PA about 25 minutes from their school/church.

there's a lot of the typical blog speculation, which I don't really buy into. some of them think it's just a stopover until they have a custom home built in NC. others think they didn't want to uproot the kids, which might seem more likely. but no one knows for sure.

I would bet money that the tables at their preschool are child sized, not adult sized. Their kitchen table is adult sized.

for those suggesting a bench...... You can't use boosters on a bench. They would have to have benches made higher so the 6 could reach the table. Just look at last nights episode and ntoice where the table hieght is on most of them. Porr kids would have the table at armpit level if they were sitting on regular chairs or bench

It's been a long time since my kids were that age, but I think mine just ate by sitting on the bench on their knees......they hated high chairs and boosters....

I watched last night and felt very bad for Mady. She is really out of control. She was screaming at the four year olds, threw the paper plate at Cara, got in a yelling match with her father (him saying "yes", her saying, "no" about something). She really needs discipline. I know the show is edited, so please tell me she had time out, or was spanked, or was grounded and we just didn't see it. John and Kate were talking about her (when it was their little interview time) and they kind of just act like they cannot do anything - "that's just Mady". Discipline may not be fun, but it's necessary and it's just part of parenting.

Perhaps they have chosen to not discipline her on air and not discuss her temper tantrums to the producers.

Keep in mind people, shows are edited...we truly do not see a true representation. It's not like a live running webcam.

Cara had a meltdown too. Oh and Mady did not throw anything at Cara. Cara was trying to take the plates away from Mady. Mady jerked them away and they went flying behind her.
