2 more things before I'm heading out for the evening ...

1. Aunt Jodi's sister's blog has been, um, altered. I read on the do not need our pity blog that she's taken down several of the blogs about Jodi & the Gosselins.

2. the budget board thread is very interesting. a whole different group of people than over here. most don't like the direction the show is going. it certainly isn't a bashing thread, by any means, but it isn't warm and fuzzy either.

He so reminds me of a guy I used to work with :goodvibes This guy's wife was almost strictly completely 100% health foods, and he seemed to go along with her and talked the talk. But when we ordered in at lunchtimes at work, look out! Pizza, burgers, subs, etc., it was all fair game to him then. And when he watched their son, there was usually a stop at McDonalds with a "don't tell Mommy" included

BTW, just to compare shows and "gifts", I think the Roloff's have received much in the way of travel and items also. Guess it kind of goes with the (TV) territory.

A good friend of mine is like that too. The funniest story has to be when his DD ate a whole big bowl (had to be a couple of bags) of marshmallows at a party. The kids were going to make S'mores but his DD (who was I guess 2 at the time) got the bowl and ate every single marshmallow. Now that I think about it there are a bunch of times he's told me that I better not tattle on his eating habits or what he has let the kids eat (intentionally or not LOL)

I don't know if it's been mentioned before but I always thought Jon's eyes were his natural color. When I saw some footage of their wedding his eye's were dark brown. What a bummer. I always wondered why the sextups eyes were dark brown too. I thought it was some recessive gene.

Shows how gullible I am

Does he wear colored contacts on the show or something? I always thought Jon's eyes were brown?!

No, not brown. Kinda like a shade between light green and light blue but not turquoise. My husband would laugh. He only knows the colors blue, brown red ect. He doesn't know the colors magenta or turquoise...lol

As a twice a year WDW visitor this year, I don't necessarily have a lot of room to talk about the vacations .. except it's just a LOT to swallow at once. For the people that have been drawn to this family and their cute kids, struggling to get by financially or emotionally, whatever .. to have all these events happening in less than a year may be a lot to take. I've seen it asked more and more on mainstream forums.

These are this year's (through October) trips, as featured on the show.

~ Utah skiing trip

~ Crayola Factory

~ Thomas the Tank Engine

~ each child had their special day

~ Chicago, for the Oprah show

~ hair plugs (was that in this year, or was just the episode shown this year?)

~ Sesame Place

~ Outer Banks

~ Phillies game

~ NYC

~ Hawaii

~ San Diego

That's a lot. A lot of travel, a lot of filming, and just a lot. Some might say, and have said, it's too much. That's not for me to say .. although I can certainly agree with it. But it's a TV show. It's what Jon & Kate have chosen to do, and they have to live with the choices they're making. I hope, for the sake of the children, that they're considering the future - the future that's years and years from now. Not days or weeks.

I would agree with the other posters that say they don't see all of these as "vacations." I would consider the Utah trip, Outerbanks and Hawaii (San Diego included, it was the same time, same trip) vacations. Everything else to me just seem like day or weekend trips that families do. -Maybe not all families, and I don't think we've done this many of the "day" things in a while (however my husband and I both work full time, and have a child in school, so we don't have a ton of time) but still I wouldn't consider the rest of those as "vacations." I will say though if I had the oppurtunity I would absolutely take as many family vacations as I could, so I say good for them.

I think this goes back to my other point...we all like to take vacations, but for us it would be a family of five. Jon and Kate's Utah trip was airfare for ten family members, plus Beth and her daughter that came to help, plus a huge house, plus ski outfits for eight kids, ski rentals for eight kids...because of their family size it would be much more expensive for them to do anything that the rest of us can do, kwim?
I mean, single day admission to Sesame Place is $47-times ten people plus the helper Jenny-over $500 in admissions!
My understanding is the ski trip and Sesame Place didn't cost them anything because of the show. If not for the show, they probably wouldn't be doing these things just from an economical standpoint. :)

What? No comments about yesterday's episode?

I thought it was a good episode. That resort that they stayed at was really beautiful! Though I think my favorite part was at the end with Alexis and the alligator. She is soooo cute! The SeaLife exhibit at Legoland looked pretty cool. I loved when the kids were saying "Nemo! Nemo!" at the clownfish. So cute! I felt bad for Collin when he fell and bumped his head. Also felt bad for Cara when she was trying to explain why she couldn't ride backwards in the boat. My sister also gets sick if she rides facing backwards, so I understood what she was trying to say, but it seemed like Jon wasn't getting it.

Overall I liked it. Looking forward to the next two episodes.

Anyone know the song that was playing during the commercial for the wedding episodes? Beautiful life ? Not sure, but it sounded like a great song.

:thumbsup2

The Sealife exhibit looked amazing and ITA about Alexis.

I love when Kate laughs!! It looks like she's really in the moment with her kids. We're going to San Diego for a family reunion next summer, and I'm getting ideas...hehe! Wonder how much that little compound they had runs per night...

I thought the wedding commercial was way too cheesy.

I enjoyed the episode, they all seemed to really enjoy the vacation.

I loved watching the kids feed the fish and the resort was awesome! I thought Jon did well with having Cara ride in the back but face forward. I was really glad to see Kate get in with Jon to take the little kids for rides on the paddle boat.

Legoland was very cool, we are a family that loves legos so that was neat. I did think Jon could have had more patience with Mady while she was driving the lego boat. He has more than 1 drama queen though so I am sure patience is hard to come by at times. :lmao:

I laughed and laughed at Aaden talking to the stingray...
"Come back, Mister. Come back, Mister".

Can't wait til next week and Hawaii! :thumbsup2

I forgot in my earlier post, but did any else catch when Jon said they would be spending some time with his family? I wonder if they will show any of that. The hula lessons next week looks like it will be fun.

I was really interested in finding out more about Legoland after watching last night's ep. But every time I try to go to the Legoland California website, it says it's not there.:confused3

I am interested in watching the Hawaii vacation, because I live here, LOL. Otherwise...the show is eh but if I"m bored I'll watch it. DH can't stand it.

Saw that last week. Guess "they" were wrong when "they" said the Gosselins were estranged from all of their family.

I just wish they'd show less of Kate and more of the kids. I love those little kid comments like when they saw the man in the cowboy hat going into the bathroom at the airport. "Why are there cowboys here? Cowboys must have to go potty" :lmao:

Jon and Kate both seem to want to push Alexis off on each other, but I think she's one of the cutest. She always has a good comment and her nickname Sassy fits her perfectly.

LOL..... I'm under the impression that it is only Kate's family they are estranged from. That his mom and grandmother are a part of their lives but have no desire to be a part of the show. He has said that his mother works full time so she doesn't spend a lot of time with the kids. His grandmother was briefly shown for the sextuplets 3rd birthday and they have mentioned a few times that she cooks traditional Korean food for them.
