Join Us For Rich & Adrian's May 2009 WDW Adventure!

 Angela...we are going to have to much fun.

BTW I read you PTR, it awesome. :thumbsup2 Your worried about leaving two boys home alone. I'm leaving my 24 yr son home alone for 12 days, what was I thinking. :scared1: But I"m not going to let that ruin my vacation. He's been home alone many of times because work has me traveling a lot.

Hi Teresa -

Thanks! Yes we are going to have a great time!

It's funny you should mention leaving my sons alone. I was just talking to my oldest son about the trip. I told him I was trying to get an earlier flight and that would mean he would have to take me to the airport at 3 am :scared1:

He was not happy about that until I reminded him that I could drive myself to the airport and leave the car there while I'm gone. He quickly changed his tune :lmao:

That won't work my son. He has his own car. I'm driving myself but I'm doing the Stay and Fly. The airport is little over an hour from my house. My flight is 7 am so I'm staying at a hotel near the airport the day before and leave my car there. It's cheaper then paying for parking the 12 days I'm gone.

:lmao: Funny how your DS changed his mind Angela :lmao:

I know! Between having the car and not having me home for a week, he will probably up and ready to go to the airport before I will :lmao:

Vanessa,

Last September the lines were great, we hardly waited, what do you think the crowds and lines are going to be like in may?

Adrian...I'll ride the tea cups with you....it's one of my favorite rides...:thumbsup2

Crowds are manageable in May, but it is a little more crowded in May than it is in Sept (not near as bad as around Christmas or in the summer though). Due to hurricane season Sept has the lowest crowds of the year, plus if you remember we were there last year between about four hurricanes. I know when we arrived there was one that was headed up the eastern seaboard, another that was just heading toward Texas, and another two that were sort of stalled out in the Caribbean. I think alot of people canceled their trips last year for the week we were there. I go every year in May and the crowds are not bad, plus the parks are beautiful. The weather is also just a little cooler in May than it is in Sept.

Too bad Kat is going to be down there the week before we are. She loves the Tea Cups. She actually thought she could get me sick on them last year during the Halloween Party. Not likely!:rotfl::rotfl: I'll ride anything except the Tower of Terror. That's the only ride I'm terrified to even try.:rotfl:

Vanessa -

I thought the same thing about ToT. When we were planning our first trip to DHS (it was MGM at the time), my youngest DS kept talking about how excited he was to ride ToT. He asked me if I was going to ride and I told him "probably". But every time we talked about it, I knew I didn't want to ride. I love roller coasters and thrill rides but I hate rides that involve falling. I knew I had to figure out a way to get out of riding ToT.

So the day finally came when we were going to MGM. What's the first thing the kids want to ride? Of course, its ToT :scared1: As we were walking to the ride I was trying to figure out how I could get out of it. When we got to the ride entrance, I stopped. The kids asked me what was wrong. In a split second I had to decide if I would not ride and disappoint them or face my fears (and quite possibly pee my pants :lmao:)

The look on their faces told me what I had to do...so I started making my way up the ramp. I have to tell you...as I sat on that elevator I was scared (it rhymes with "witless" :rotfl2:) But as the elevator started moving, I just closed my eyes and prayed that my heart wouldn't give out.

As the elevator moved forward in the dark, I could hear my heart pounding so hard, I thought it would beat out of my chest. Finally, the elevator stopped moving and the door opened. It was a beautiful view. You could the whole park. And then...we dropped :scared1: And guess what? Not only did I not "wit" my pants, I LOVED it!!! It was the best ride ever!! The more we rose and dropped the more I loved it. ToT is now my favorite ride at DHS. I plan to ride it as much as I can.

If you want to try it, I would be happy to go with you. I promise - you will not regret it :thumbsup2

I don't think so.:rotfl::rotfl: Even though I love roller coasters, I am really scared of heights and hate the idea of being dropped. Other than the theming I can't think of one thing I'd like about TOT. I've met some fellow DISers down there a few times and have considered doing it with a group of them, but thus far haven't gotten up the nerve. Thanks though!

Hey everyone
I've just decided to go to WDW (arr 9 May, WL) and found this Board and your group and your plans!

Do you still have a spare seat for the Clam Bake on the 10th? :)

I may not meet your age requirements - I am not celebrating my 40th - but my 43rd!

Aussie chick (hmmm - no koala smilies to use)flying a squillion hours solo to share the magic!

cheers

Welcome Leanne! Not all of us are in our forties.:rolleyes1 I won't say how old I am, but I will say I am old enough to have a 30 y/o son and another in his 20's.:rotfl:, so I may be the big sister of the group. However, let's not forget that at Disney World everyone is a kid again. Disney World has no age limits and absolutely NO calories in their food.:rolleyes1

Adrian Now we only have 31 Days to figure out how to get Vanessa :flower3:on ToT! :upsidedow

What the heck! Are you going to ride it Rich? How about the tea cups and Expedition Everest a half a dozen times or so?:rotfl::flower3:

Vanessa,

With both of us as medical professionals, I must of missed that day of the PA program when they said WDW food didn't have any calories LOL :banana: I would be happy with Rick going on Everest and not turning as green as tinkerbell, never mind the tea cups!!!

I really cant wait to go, it has been a long streach since our last WDW trip, see ya soon:banana:
