I also love 8 Simple Rules. I will truly miss him, he was an extremely talented man and very kind too.

I loved his character Jack Tripper. Remember the guest spot he had on The Cosby Show, playing the husband of a pregnant wife who tried to have the perfect pregancy and labor??? It was hysterical...I'm pretty sure the actress that played his wife in that episode IS his real wife. Such a loss...![]()

GoofyGirl is allowed her opinion of John Ritter,
And I'd like to remind you, Laura, that I am allowed MY opinion of goofygirl, as well (which, I believe, is shared by many others here also).
Perhaps you should take a chill pill.
Perhaps when YOU die, goofygirl, instead of remembering you with fondness, someone will say, "She was a nasty, mean spirited child-hater, whose obsession with cats bordered on beastiality, and who never had anything good to say about anyone."
And I'd like to remind you, Laura, that I am allowed MY opinion of goofygirl, as well (which, I believe, is shared by many others here also).
I don't believe anyone here was elevating John Ritter to the status of sainthood, GoofyGirl. All these people are doing is paying tribute to a man who made them laugh and shared his talents with them for decades

...ABC has no idea what they are going to do as of yet with the series. They were thinking that maybe they'll show reruns for the next month, then do the three new shows that he just finished for the new season, then they will have a tribute to John on the last show. They couldn't see replacing him, he was too much of a key character to this show.
That's gotta be hard on all of them.
..and some people want to toss him out. This stupid debate is the same thing. It is obvious to me there was something about him that touches peoples hearts. I do not believe whether or not he was perfect is relevant. I am still very sad about his death.
