Don't get me wrong folks. It's okay to have an accent. It's just not okay if you're Kate.
You know its funny, I never thought I had an accent.....but anytime I take a trip out west people always look at me funny & ask where I'm from. Ummm, Pittsburgh![]()

My wife never noticed it either until I pointed it out. Now all she hears during the intro is "It's R life."
I don't really have a problem with people who pronounce "our" the same way they do "are" but I've decided to make an exception for Kate.
LOL, well looks like there are a whole lot of us saying it wrong, so at least we're in good company here and apparently most of the northeast.![]()
Either way sounds fine to me, I'm not picky, I enjoy different accents.

I Love Jon and Kate and the kids...I know they get some stick on the net but I think they are just a great family...not perfect..but who is??..Some of the attacks on other sites against them are vile...full of jelousy and venom..To me its clear there is a LOT of love in that house and although Kate and Jon sometimes make mistakes and get stressed..(who doesnt)...they are happy and loved..![]()

I refuse to watch the show because I don't want to do anything to help their ratings.
Same for the Duggars.

. It's pretty generic midwestern, except for a fair amount of "warsh" for "wash".Well, there are the Duggars but they're more like their own little cult.![]()

A few weeks ago on TLC there was a show "Twins, Twins, and Sextuplets" shown on the same night as Jon & Kate. It was a family in New Jersey, with ten kids. The father is a police officer. One of the sextuplets has cerebral palsy. The kids were not dressed in identical Gap or Gymboree outfits at all times. The mom is kind of the "anti-Kate", Kate's opposite.
The show was interesting because it gave a realistic look at their lives. I don't think it's a series, I think it was a one-time thing..
----------------------My thoughts on the show...
Now, it's just a big commercial. They advertise their own book. They advertise for resorts. They advertise products (like Wii Music last night...which I'd like to point out was NOT released at the time of filming so it was obviously a freebie.)
-Kate didn't used to bother me that much. But now, I loathe her.
-I hate that she doesn't let her kids get messy. They rarely are allowed to be kids. They are always having to worry about getting dirty. I've noticed the young ones saying things along the lines of "OH NO! I'm dirty!" and trying to wash their hands. She freaks out whenever anyone gets a speck of dirt on them.
-Things have to be HER way. If Jon doesn't put the "correct" shoes on the kids, all heck breaks loose!
-One incident that sticks in my head was when one of the boys was sick. He vomited in his bed. She then took him to the laundry room and made him sleep on the floor in there because there wasn't carpet. That is ridiculous! Her carpet was apparently more important than her sons comfort while he's sick. That made me very angry.
-I think these kids are going to hate some of the things that have been shown on t.v. I don't think they'll like seeing their potty training on national television.
-While Mady is basically a brat...I still feel bad for her. They always make sure to show her brattiest moments on t.v. She will be labeled a brat forever, by everyone. It's kind of sad.
-Anyone notice Aunt Jodi and her husband (Kate's brother, can't think of his name) are absent from the show now?? Well, that's because TLC offered to pay them for being on the show and helping out. When Kate got wind of it, she was NOT happy. And now, the kids' Aunt and Uncle are no longer around.

yep, me too. Can't stand either of them, I think the Duggars are weird uber religious kooks and Jon & Kate have sold out big time and are no longer in touch with real life, the TV show is now driving their life, not the other way around.
and just for the record "R" "our" and "are" are all pronounced the same here. I live in Iowa, land of no accent. It's pretty generic midwestern, except for a fair amount of "warsh" for "wash".

The other show with the police officer and his wife. I loved!
they were totally normal. people I could imagine my self being friends with.
Jon and Kate well... I used to like the shows that showed thier daily routine. all it is now is one big advertisement. for one thing after another. and I find myself not watching even half as much.
