John & Kate Take A Vacation

But that's how Jon/Kate started out. So in a couple years, if there's enough interest in one/some of those families, we might see a TV show about them, too. And once a popular TV show starts, normal life ends and you end up in a $$ situation like Jon/Kate.

Do you say things like "the car needs washed" instead of "the car needs to be washed"? If so, you might also have an accent, LOL.

I like the show, basically. Even before I found out that Jon is half Korean like my hubby, we identified with them. Hubby gets that same blank face, even when we were new, and it starts making me a bit nutty so I get a more stern face as I try to figure out what's going on behind the blank face. Our friends have the same issue when hubby and I are chatting as people do when watching Jon/Kate; we have been accused of arguing SO many times when we're actually getting along quite fabulously. My maid of honor almost STARTED two fights between us, in the two days before our wedding, because she kept "intervening" to "stop" an argument that wasn't even happening, and we had to force ourselves to remember that we weren't having problems, but SHE sure was!

When people react like that to us, it makes us closer, b/c when the world doesn't understand your dynamic, well, you just have to get closer. We still don't understand why our friends refuse to believe us, but we've actually dropped some people b/c they made us miserable, and the people who are still in our lives are the good ones! :)

I get stressed enough with my one son...I cannot even imagine having so many.

And while the brief thing about the ice cream sounds awful, when you actually read the whole thing of what happened, I personally can totally understand her being so unhappy. If someone handed DS an ice cream, even a safe no corn syrup ice cream (you'd be surprised at the ingredients!), right before a picture moment I would have a serious issue, too. On a normal day, normal moment, I don't really care. At farmer's markets this summer I kept getting nasty looks and comments about oxyclean from women because I let DS eat cherries while wearing a white shirt, or other things like that. But before a nice picture? Nope, not calm about that.

The way Kate was with the ice cream is how she is always shown on the show. Even at home she doesn't let the kids get very messy. It's ridiculous.

and the child was ruined because she had ice cream spilled on her. that's what Kate said.

Everyone has talked about how they like the newer shows more- Duggars and twins, twins and sextups. The twins, twins, sextups show have only aired 1 show, and the Duggars haven't been on nearly as long as Jon & Kate, and like many have pointed out they used to like Jon & Kate... just saying that I wouldn't be surprised if 4 seasons from now (if either family have that many) many ppl. may also decide they don't like those 2 families any longer either. Just wanted to put that out there.

I agree with that. Money and fame change people. It changed Jon and Kate. Just about every family that "stars" in reality TV falls apart. Look at the Osbornes, the Hogans, the Bonaduccis, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachet, and on and on. Granted they all had Hollywood, fame, drugs, sex, ect before their shows started but they all ended with their families in turmoil. I expect the same outcome for TLCs families, maybe not quite as bad as the rock n roll MTV/VH1 families but I don't think any good comes from documenting what should be personal, private homelives.

Someday people will see this and put some regulations in place for these poor kids who's parents shove them into the public eye this way. Almost every child star ends up a complete mess. They at least had home as a place of refuge. Where do these kids go to get away from the camera? Home is work and work is home. How messed up is that "reality?"

and just for the record "R" "our" and "are" are all pronounced the same here. I live in Iowa, land of no accent :rotfl: .

So, how do you pronounce "hour"? I was born and raised in Texas and, of course, have no accent whatsoever. ;) I pronounce "hour" and "our" exactly the same. "Are", "or", and the letter "R" sound nothing like our/hour.

Twins, Twins, and Sextuplets was picked up as a series. I dont' have anymore information on how many episodes they will film as of yet, but they will be a series too very soon.

I didn't find anything interesting about that show.

Fact is the personalitys of the parents on the 2 shows are very opposite in my opinion.

For instance everything is dealt with in a humorous way rather than look at all we have had to deal with. The affection and MUTUAL respect between the officer and his wife is also obvious.
That is not the case or not always the case with J and K. for me its simple I would Not enjoy J and K next door to me. the others sure come on down.

It goes by so fast and you know what ice cream on the shirt, or markers at the crayola factory won't matter a wit when your babies are grown. I was fastidious about my babies as well. your child is not ruined if they get dirty. Pack extra shirts! Buy a shirt. I did that more times than I can count when the kids get messy while we were out. Did I let them stay dirty nope. But it was also never a big deal. they are washable.

I have a picture of my dd now 21. at mickeys toontown. when she was about 3 first year it opened I think. Maybe it was called Birthday something?? ANYway... she was COVERED in a chocolate covered mickey bar. I mean seriously crazily covered. I took a millon pictures and then washed her up and changed her clothes. ya know what those pictures are among my most fave pictures. She was having a delightful time and its a wonderful memory. thats what matters not the mess.

This week we saw Kate "giving back" to others. Yeah. She pretty much compared herself being in the hospital for 2 months while pregnant to what children with cancer are going through.

And then she proceeded to give everyone copies of her book and a dvd of their show.

Yeah. You stay classy, Kate.

And if I have to hear "it's better to give than receive" one more time I might puke.

Hey Kate, maybe you could have taken the thousands and thousands of dollars the show spent on you guys for that Hawaii trip and given it to St. Jude's hospital. Just a suggestion.

Kate just seems to have a thick PA accent, maybe that's why she pronounces "our" that way? I've noticed it in some other things she says. Jon doesn't seem to have the same accent though.

Her accent is kind of annoying. But that's probably more to do with her personality that just the accent.

I like the show but come one it is on ALL the time in reruns now. They need to get more original programing before it is called the JK8 network.:rotfl:

I love seeing the Dilly 6. I wonder how they are doing and how old they are now. I think I heard that the house they were given, they had to give up or something like that.I think they moved to another area and a smaller house.:confused3

I saw just the tail end, last night, of the episode where they take the kids on a skiing trip to Utah. As the show was going off it said "In memory of ___"; it was a female's name and I thought it was the same name as one of their friends that help them with the kids on these trips and such. Anyone know anything about who this person was?

I always liked the Dilley's. Their mom had a good system for rewards and whatnot. Evil Kate should do something like that. It would be better than giving in and rewarding the bad behavior (like she did last night in the toy store.)

I'll watch it occasionally, but more for the train wreck factor. ;)

I had it playing in the background when I was doing house stuff one time and had to turn it off, the kids screaming/crying was making me stressed out. :rotfl:
