My wife watches this "wonderful" program where a seemingly nice guy and his cranky wife take their 50 kids on awesome vacations.

Does it bug anybody else whenever Kate says, "It's are life?"

I Love Jon and Kate and the kids...I know they get some stick on the net but I think they are just a great family...not perfect..but who is??..Some of the attacks on other sites against them are vile...full of jelousy and venom..To me its clear there is a LOT of love in that house and although Kate and Jon sometimes make mistakes and get stressed..(who doesnt)...they are happy and loved..:thumbsup2

That whole family bugs me!!

Us too. But Kate most of all. DH swears in a few years, the show will be called "Kate plus eight, minus Jon" She is so critical of him.

The whole premise of we had a lot of kids, and can't really afford them, but now we get to go on TV, and quit our jobs, and go on tons of vacations, and have it all paid for, as long as we strut them out for the world to see just really grates on my nerves.:headache:

I really hope this trend of TV ends soon.

I've watched it a few times, mostly to make myself feel better (I'm expecting my first and likely only child and I have the usual worries about being a competent parent). I've seen reruns, not the newest shows.

I wouldn't want to live in that household. Not so much because of the number of kids, but because everything seems too regimented and planned out. I guess things have to be really organized with all those kids the same age, but it seems like they go too far. Even the "fun" stuff they do seems, well, forced.

And yes, it bugs me when she mispronounces "our" as "are". :rotfl:

They also have a book out now too. Not sure what it is titled but it was on display at a major book store with all of the other " brand-new-we're-pushing-them-out-the-door" books.

Ok - I don't mean to be the English Teacher Nazi or anything like that, but I think you mean "It's our life"

Thanks!

Kate actually says, "It's are life" in the intro of the show. She's mispronouncing "our".

The OP wrote it correctly - that is how Kate pronounces it. You're welcome! ;)

I loathe this family. What John and Kate are doing - raising 8 children - is no difficult task when you live off of TV residuals, book deals, and speaking engagement fees. Show me a large family with parents who have real jobs and I'd be far more impressed.

I don't think the attacks are jealousy at all. She is an annoying woman who when it comes down to it cares more about what she looks like then anything. I just don't think it is right to use your children to support your your expensive tastes like that. Fine, great, they have a ton of kids but they don't need to put them on public display--it is just wrong to me.

Not ALL attacks are jealousy..but some most definitley are....

It's just her accent, I believe. I haven't ever noticed it as 'are'. I've heard it as 'our life'. *shrugs*

Well, there are the Duggars but they're more like their own little cult. ;) :duck:

A few weeks ago on TLC there was a show "Twins, Twins, and Sextuplets" shown on the same night as Jon & Kate. It was a family in New Jersey, with ten kids. The father is a police officer. One of the sextuplets has cerebral palsy. The kids were not dressed in identical Gap or Gymboree outfits at all times. The mom is kind of the "anti-Kate", Kate's opposite.
The show was interesting because it gave a realistic look at their lives. I don't think it's a series, I think it was a one-time thing.

I think now that J & K have made the show their life, it's just not as interesting. JMO.

:lmao: I love your re-title of the show. Jon and Kate Take a Vacation! :lmao: That's great!

I started off as a huge fan of theirs. They seemed so real, so down to earth. Not anymore. Plus, they are boring now, to boot. I only turn it on for my 6 year old. He loves watching the kids. Since it's one of the few prime time shows with zero sex and/or violence, I allow it. :confused3

There's a WDW episode, they DRIVE down with all the kids. :scared:

They stay at the Wilderness Lodge though, so it was a fun episode.

Kate seems super OCD, I often wonder if Jon has to take copious amounts of Xanax to keep from throttling her.

I've seen this show a couple of times and the husband looks so defeated and tired (rightly so). The mother looks like she is taking the challenge of having multiples children head-on. I hope their marriage survives.

This is one of those things you either love it or hate it. I really enjoy the show, although I don't watch it all the time. And I do have to say, the episode I watched last night was a bit boring. Maybe the novelty is wearing off for me, no idea. My dd12 and I enjoy watching it together, its rare to find a show where we can both be entertained. Do I think they are a perfect family? No, but then I don't know any of those anywhere. I am betting that some of you that hate this show probably have shows I wouldn't be caught dead watching either!

I'd also have to say, none of us can really say how easy or difficult their life is. Since we don't live it ourselves.

I'll also add I like Little People Big World the best. They seem very down to earth. I can't wait to see if they keep the new house clean! I hope not, they make me feel better about my own mess in life!

I really like the show.

I'm not a fan of the Duggars, but the Gosselins keep me watching, every Monday. :)
