I have the chance to go see John Edwards with one of my friends & in a way it makes me uneasy. Has anyone ever gone to see him & what was your experience like?
The BIG question is did he give you a "reading"?

I saw him on a news show once. He could not do any readings. Nothing was coming through. I think he's a phony but I think going would still be entertaining.

Yes, unfortunately, I wasted money to see him. About three quarters of the time he was on stage, it was all about him and his book ... I was disgusted. What a phony.

Well crap...a friend and I were seriously considering paying the $185 per ticket to see him in Chicago this summer. Hmmmm...perhaps I should save my $$$?

Anyone else with this same experience?

I have seen John Edward live during a book tour. He did a group reading actually "for free" (hard to believe when you see what he's charging now) with the purchase of the book. I thought it would be brief but he actually spent about 1.5 hours speaking and doing readings.

I went as a matter of curiosity but there were some tremendous "hits" in the crowd; stunningly accurate readings and some of them were very obscure and specific references.

I left thinking, "either this guy is the real deal OR he has several 'plants' in the audience." The people he did readings for came with friends or family and they appeared to have local accents (we are in KY).

So I don't know if he can or can't speak to the dead but I will say he was entertaining. I wouldn't have paid $185 to see him but that's entirely a personal preference.

But did someone interview him before the show? Or did he talk to someone next to him and maybe they were planted to gather information?

I watched his show for a long time and tried to keep an open mind. Because of all my experiences with people who have died, I know that communication is possible. But I think John Edwards is a fake. I think he is great at reading and leading people. I also think he probably has plants in the audience who listen in on conversations of people talking about their dead relatives.

I have been to several psychics too. One of them was recommended by people who were very impressed and swore she was the real deal. After a reading, I think she was a fake. There was nothing in the reading that would have lead me to believe she was real.

If anyone knows a real psychic, one who does not read and lead, I would love to see for myself. I have had premonitions myself, so I know that it is possible. I just don't think what John Edwards does is possible. I don't believe someone can stand there and meet dead person after dead person like it is some kind of meet and greet.

I was at a very small local fair with a friend of mine several years ago. There was a lady on the street reading palms for $10. I was surprised but my friend decided to pay her for a reading.

She seemed to only get a few hits - one was that her sister's name started with a "J" and that her sister was recently married. She also noted my friend's back problems (but DF is very "busty," so that was an easy call).

What didn't seem accurate at the time was that she said that her sister was trapped in a very abusive relationship and didn't know any way out and that she desperately needed help. DF laughed that off because she knew her sister was quite happy in her very new marriage. She also said that DF would have a girl and a boy - "almost" twins. We weren't sure what that meant at the time.

DF found out just a few weeks later that her sister WAS, in fact, being horribly abused. DF helped her get out of that relationship. A few years later, DF had two children, so close in age that they could "almost" be twins.

Just seems too accurate to be coincidence.

I've seen John a few times and I'll tell you this...There is NO way he could plant someone in the audience.

Also, the biggest skeptic in the room is the man up on the stage. He wants you to go and confirm what he's saying. He's always been that way.

185 though? Geez. That's pretty darn expensive. I saw him when it was $50.

I would love to go see him. I remember when he was on WPLJ radio in NY when he was just starting out.

I have been to a psychic before who was very right about a lot of stuff, very detail about things that would happen and they did. He wouldn't ask questions, just tell you stuff. He would tell you also tell you if you wanted to come back, not to come back for at least 8 months or so.
