Joey's Wish Trip - PTR - Nov 28 - Dec 5

Joey had a check-up at Children's Hospital this week and he is now tubeless!!! After 13 long months he had his central line in his chest removed so he can have a bath, go swimming and his kidneys are finally happy enough that he can be rid of the feeding tube too!!! This will make the trip so much easier, no dressing changes, feeding pump, bags, supplies etc!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

:dance3: Hooray for Joey! That is the best news! Now I can go to work with a smile on my face!

:yay::yay::yay: That is wonderful! I am so glad that he is tubeless now! I hope you have a wonderful trip!! I participated in your Big Give, but I am pretty convinced my package is either held up at customs or lost. I mailed it out Oct. 27th. If it doesn't get there before you leave then at least Joey will have a surprise when he gets home :)

Aw, that is fantastic news about Joey. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Don't worry if you forget anything, there is a Walmart nearby and that you can grab things from. :)

How great would it be if you did meet up with Tim (that's nice). :)

Yes the Walmart is right on the corner, just a few minutes away!!! you will pass it every day on your way to and from GKTW. In fact, the Walmart is your cue to turn down that road!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

I bet that Walmart gets tons of business from the GKTW families. :) Funny thing is a few years back when DF and I used to get our supplies for the weekly vacation from that Walmart, I'd see the sign for Give Kids the World and wonder what it was about. :) Now I know. LOL.

:banana::banana: for Joey!!!! that is just wonderful news!! I hope its warm enough for him to take a swim in the pool and just have FUN!!!!!!

Joey is so enjoying being tubeless ... he likes to lay down in the bathtub, just because he can!!!

I've heard about the Wal-mart in most every trip report (even about plans to go there in ptr :lmao:) I'm sure we will be joining the masses in making an appearance there too!

Can't believe it ... only 5 more days to go!!!!! We have to wait until Thursday to meet with the MAW people I can hardly wait, we are all getting soooo excited!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Snowed in!!! Oh no!! I hope you get a big thaw soon!!!!

Have an AWESOME trip!!!!!:wizard:

I have been enjoying your ptr.... I love the photos with the balloon hats and the big give... they were great.
I sure can understand getting rid of a tube. I have finally been able to let my son take a bath for the first time in a year, and I have promised to let him go swimming around Christmas.. so I'm excited for you all too. It'll be great to go without having to worry about that. I hope the weather will be nice enough that he can swim in the pool at least once.
Keep up the great posts. and I look forward to reading about your trip!

I sure hope so! I am so sorry it took (or is taking) so long to arrive! And wow... snowed in! Where I live (near Houston, Texas) we had an 80 degree day today. Send your cold weather my way!;)

Sorry to hear that you are snowed in but have you checked the weather in Orlando? You think you can handle 80's and sun? :lmao::lmao: :beach:

I would rather have the snow than the rain. We are suppose to have "snow showers" tomorrow...It's almost time for your great and happy trip..Enjoy every magical moment:)

It doesn't take much to snow us in as we have a skinny very steep driveway that quickly turns into a tobaggon run and if we haven't got our vehicle down the hill before the fun begins ... it's like driving down an icy slide with no room for error! :scared1: Anyway, we were able to get down today so all is well! :)

I agree, snow is much more fun ... but unless it's a flood, rain doesn't ruin as many plans!
