  • Life (judge will sentence within 60 days, LWOP or Parole in 25 years)

  • No unanimous decision...new penalty phase jury will be empaneled.

Results are only viewable after voting.
I agree. Although I really want her on death row.... BUT, I would accept LWOP, I just don't want a chance that she will get out at any time!

I am too, I am trying to figure out why this person thinks we bailed on this trial. Weird

I watched Simpson's video too ... It made me shiver :scared: ... She was quite scary indeed :scared1: ... I've read some of the other stories on what death row/life inmates' lives are like serving their sentences at Perryville ... It's hard to explain, but even though those accounts made it sound like complete and utter hell on earth to me, somehow, Simpson's interview drove home the reality of it all 100 times more ... I don't know if that even makes any sense because it's hard to put into words ... I just know that it left me with chills running up and down my spine, that's for sure :scared: ...

That Angela isn't as scary to me as Jodi, I guess I appreciate her honesty and rationale much better than the ever changing never ending Jodi stories.

And maybe Willmott should use what I would call the Simpson argument and say to a future jury of Jodi's case, in that case (Simpson's), she got LWOP so give Life to my client (Jodi) and allow the judge to decide. I'm not sure she (Willmott) would be allowed to use that argument.

usnuz, that's gorgeous and definitely fitting to Mare. :thumbsup2

Mare, thought about you this morning and hope you're enjoying those kids (granddaughter and son), happy birthday! :goodvibes

=======================================

And in regards to this bailing bruhaha, I don't think the jury bailed, hell, they came to a verdict that they could not agree on a verdict of Life or Death. :confused3

All women deserve some bling, no matter how you get it.:rotfl:

I don't think Jodi will take a deal. She would take her chance on a second jury or that the judge will give her a lesser sentence where she could walk in 20 yrs.

One thing I don't understand about the sentencing, (and forgive me if it's already been explained- I've pretty much kept up with these threads but may have missed a post here or there)-
but if the jury is considered smart enough to be able to decide a death sentence, then why can't they also decide on LWOP?

WHy is it that if they choose a life sentence, that it is then up to the judge to decide LWOP or 25 to life?

It would seem that the jury should be able to decide whether it's LWOP or not.

Once again it comes down to that the jury did not understand the instruction. Not only that this juror is going by feelings not the instruction. He was swayed by how he feels about Jodi. The foreman labeled them " My Juror's " they are not his jurors. Seems like he could be a bully in the jury room. Personally, when there is a death penalty going on the jurors really need some kind of class instruction to help them understand the phases and what the instructions really mean.

The PP is not referring to you or other people in this thread, she is 'speaking' to the jurors in that sentence!

You may be right, if so I apologize for the mistake. DP really needs a solid instruction so people understand. For some people reading an instruction may not be fully disclosed to them to understand the full meaning of it.

I'm not talking about this particular situation with the mistrial.

I'm talking about any Arizona jury in a death penalty case.

The jury can sentence the defendant to death or to life in prison.
BUt if the jury unanimously chooses to sentence the defendant to life in prison, it then goes to the judge to decide whether to give LWOP or 25 years to Life.

I am wondering why the jury cannot decide whether to give LWOP or 25 to Life.

She'd take the deal if it was Life with parole consideration after 25 (with 5 served) if she could get it, but I'm fairly certain the State won't offer that!

Yep, it is on the State vs Jodi page, it was created for breast cancer by Nike. I hope someone contacts Nike. Once again she is using someones trade mark for DV.

Has someone notified CBS and Mark Probst (Survivor)?

Geeez, next thing is Jodi's being sued by God's lawyers for portraying herself as human.

That's a great question!!

Not sure if this has been posted but here is an alternates twitter page. Too many good tweets to copy, she will be on Dr. Drew on Tuesday and was very pro-prosecution and not happy with the foreman whatsoever.

she is that one that asked this question.

@k... I asked her,"after all the lies you told, why should we believe u now?"I wanted her to know she wasn't fooling me!! #jodiarias

If there is a problem with a juror why did she not inform someone? Like I said he sounded like a bully.

My personal opinion is that there will be another jury.

Happy Birthday! :cheer2:

I wondered the same thing. It's makes NO sense to be able to give DEATH but not to be able to give LWOP. Earlier in this thread, I commented that as a juror that wanted the DP I would have been willing to compromise on LWOP but not on Life because that might mean she only wound up with 25 years.

No, that wouldn't be a deal for the state since they know she'll get that at the very least regardless. In her case, she has to worry about the DP. I would LOVE to see her agree to LWOP, but I think you're probably right. I think she still thinks she may be able to get out with 25 years with a new jury.

Yeah, I'm not even sure Jodi would agree to a plea at this time, she thinks she's too slick.

I don't think this judge would give her Life with possibility of parole.

Anyone know of any serious cases in AZ where a judge has given Life with possibility of parole after 25?
