I remember someone (HLN maybe?) saying that a photographer would know that the memory card would survive going through a wash cycle. But what I think happened is that she gathered up stuff to throw in the wash, not realizing that the camera was in with it all, and was in a hurry to leave and didn't have any idea where the camera was.

That's what I have always thought too.
And I have seen many posts by photographers on photo forums who do not know that a memory card would survive going through the wash!

If the last thing Jodi remembered is that she shot Travis and that he was cursing and still coming at her, then when she "comes to" near the Hoover Dam and has blood on her hands, wouldn't her first thought be "OMG, is Travis OK?" rather than "he must be dead."
