Jodi Arias Trial Part 6, starting with JM Rebuttal April 16

Oh no, I hate when stuff ruins trips, what happened?

Well, upon arrival we found out that the room we had booked (since January) was not available (water view club level at the YC) ... and the only room that was available was a king bed room because the resort was fully booked ... I was traveling with my sister so a king bed room wasn't going to work, and btw, we had even requested a double queen bed room on our reservation ... So even though we wanted to stay at the YC, I asked if the BC or BWI had anything available and was told no, they were fully booked too ... So to make a long story, after about 1 1/2 hours of getting some serious run around - (you can't even imagine how many different things we were told) - miraculously they were able to find us a room at the BC :faint: ... So then we had to transfer all of our luggage from YC to BC on our own (ok, not that big of a deal, I don't mind the exercise, but I was getting tired from traveling all day) ... And then the room key they gave us didn't work, so we had to wait again to get that fixed ... So needless to say, not exactly the way we would have liked to start our vacation ...

Then the next night, we went to Cape May Cafe for dinner and I guess the server thought she was my mother and scolded me for eating dessert too soon! ... She snarkily said that she couldn't believe that I had eaten so fast and was eating dessert already ... The truth is I believe she lost time on just how long we had been there ... I can laugh about it now but when it happened I was surprised, and to be quite honest, embarrassed  ...

Then we were at Hollywood Studios one day and we were taking the Animation class and the instructor was asking who had drawn which characters so he would choose one that no one had done yet ... So my sister raised her hand when he asked about Bolt and he actually called her out and said "you've really drawn Bolt?" ... like he didn't believe her ... Once again, it's funny now, but when it happened it was like "What?!" ...

And then, we seemed to have next door neighbors at the resort who liked to leave their young teens alone at night who liked to run up and down the halls knocking on other guests doors :headache: ...

And finally, one night about 11:30pm, there was a group of local teens who had come from a formal school dance and were screaming and carrying on outside on the resort property ... At first, I thought it was a wedding party because I could see from my room that they were dressed in gowns and tuxes, but I found out the next morning from other guests who had seen, heard and spoken to them that they were local high school students who had just attended their end of year formal - where that was, I don't know ...

So this trip definitely had a few speed bumps, but at least we can laugh about it all now that we are home :) ... Maybe I should get myself a journal and write it all down too ;) ...

Sorry to hear about the bumps in your trip, Brit. Always stinks when things don't go as planned.

Sounds like it could be an interesting TR Brit.

Sorry for the speed bumps, but at least you got to experience the speed bumps. No telling when I'll get to experience them again. Probably not again until 2015 or 2016.

Thanx BearcatsFan :) ... But with all the sadness and tragedies that are going on in the world today, I feel guilty even getting upset over my little speed bumps when I did ... Just have to remember to always keep things in perspective ... :)

Thanx TMan :) ... We're actually laughing about everything now ... I did forget to mention that when we first arrived at the YC, we pulled up to Valet Parking and the Valet asked if we wanted help with our luggage, so we said Yes, please ... And then he just left us standing there until I finally pulled all the luggage out of the car myself and we dragged it upstairs ourselves, just to find out that we didn't have a room :lmao: ... Then we had to drag it all the way back downstairs again 1 1/2 hours later to go to the BC :car: ... Just to drag it all the way upstairs again :rotfl: ...

I don't know when I'll be going back either ... Maybe all of us on this thread to start planning a post-trial DIS Meet for sometime in the future ... :)

Yes! I am always up for a trip! We will need to clear our heads after this....

Hello Everyone! So when was the actual testimony over with tonight?? I was watching HLN, which meant Jane Velez Mitchell and then Nancy Grace and then even by the end of Dr. Drew it still hadn't finished with all the "pauses" and chats and interviews etc.. I am always curious exactly when it finishes since dear old JA has to have her meal otherwise she risks getting a migraine which I swear is all because of the fake glasses she wears..

I know some of you don't like Dr. Drew but think about this: it could be Joy freaking Behar that we would have to listen to!!

Court ended at 4:30. Only who knows how long Willie will keep her on the stand.

I need to step away from the trial...... It was in my dreams last night or should I say nightmares.

Hi all - still following along appreciating the updates and thanks Mare for starting these threads. You're so organized; the links really help.

Brit - sorry about the snafu's on your trip; I'm glad you can laugh about it now. As you mentioned, with all that's going on around us, it's all about perspective. This definitely would fit on the Trip Report forum though.

DH banned Dr. Drew in our house. :lmao: Shhhhh! Don't say that (Joy) too loud! You might give them ideas. Her voice is worse than JW's:lmao:

Long enough to plead for a mistrial......
I hope it's only tomorrow. Maybe I am being too optimistic???
The DT is sooo desperate now, they'll stoop to any stall tactic they can dream up.

Dr. JD was brilliant though, I hope she holds up to JW's ridiculous cross today. Can't wait...:hourglass

So refreshing to hear Dr. JD. Wow, someone who knows their stuff. I agree completely with the 44 hour bit. Once you spend 44 hours with someone, you have a relationship!

Saw that subtle jesture from Jodi. Just goes to seal her immaturity diagnosis.

Had to laugh yesterday when both DD and DH commented "They haven't convicted that psycho yet?"

Have a good one!

I didn't watch much yesterday. I did read this witness testified about Jodi being like a chameleon that changed herself to fit with who she was with. That I find interesting because we kind of see that with her dressing like JW (and the bangs, glasses).

Should be interesting!

I have a question. I missed part of the trial yesterday.

Maybe I'm confused, but I thought that the psychologist told Martinez that she supervised Laviolette. Then I saw her telling Willmott that she never even met her. Did I miss something?

I thought that question was asked in a very confusing way by jm. I thought it was smart of jw to clarify.

Just a few random comments from watching yesterday's proceedings:

1. Love Dr. JD!!! Wilma and Nurmi, this is a true expert witness! Educated, well-spoken, current, organized, and professional.

2. What in the heck was Jodi doing all day? I'm wondering if they gave her a book and told her to transcribe it word for word onto blank paper so just to keep her busy so that she wouldn't have any visible reactions during the testimony. (Well, except for when she flipped the bird to Dr. JD. Yes, Jodi, we all noticed that.) It's either that or she was trying to find Waldo.

3. Wilma, Wilma, Wilma. Snark much? By the way, one of the first rules of questioning a witness is to not ask questions when you don't already know the answer. Dr. JD burned you quite a few times yesterday and it just made you look stupid. Also, please take that smirk off of your face. It will cause wrinkles.

4. Besides saying that Jodi didn't have PSTD and wasn't a victim of domestic violence, I thought the most damning Dr. JD said was that Jodi was not impulsive - which I took to mean that she likes to plan things and not do them on the spur of the moment. I have to think that Wilma is going to hammer on this point. Juan had Dr. JD explain her reasoning on all of the other points, but I noticed that he didn't ask for additional explanation on this point. Maybe he's going to see was Wilma does with it and then address it on re-direct.

5. I am hoping that someway, somehow, Dr. JD is able to get into her testimony that her age was helpful in this case because of the age of the defendant and the victim. I'm sure Dr. JD knows how to use the internet, email, text message, IM, etc., and she probably also knows how the sexual habits of the modern day 20-somethings may differ from the way people were 30 years ago.

Overall, GREAT day for the prosecution!
