Jodi Arias Trial Part 6, starting with JM Rebuttal April 16

Spot on summary :thumbsup2 ...

I just hope the jurors are paying close attention to everything ... I was a little concerned with their questions yesterday ... I'm hoping they were just written early on before they heard a lot of Dr. D's testimony ... Some of the questions that made me a little worried were:

the ones about Dr. D's experience - because Willie was really trying to discredit Dr. D on that point too ...

the one about the bear vs the tiger - because I thought that was a bit snarky like when a juror asked Sammy if a bad haircut could cause PTSD ... So is there a juror who may be thinking everything is a joke? ...

the one about the camera in the washer - because it seemed to be questioning Dr. D's opinion on JA's organization after she killed TA ...

the question whether Dr. D considers JA stabbing/shooting/slitting TA's throat a traumatic event - because it seemed to be questioning Dr. D's opinion in regards to PTSD ...

Hopefully these questions were just to clarify Dr. D's testimony that a juror may not have understood clearly ... and hopefully Dr. D cleared up any misunderstandings ...

Yes, she is younger and less experienced. But seemed to be very common sense, matter of fact, you can't BS me.

the one about the bear vs the tiger - because I thought that was a bit snarky like when a juror asked Sammy if a bad haircut could cause PTSD ... So is there a juror who may be thinking everything is a joke? ...
That was one strange question.

the one about the camera in the washer - because it seemed to be questioning Dr. D's opinion on JA's organization after she killed TA ...
One method of organizing/trying to cover your tracks could be to dump the camera in the desert along with the other crime scene evidence. But it is an equally valid method of organization/cover your tracks to delete the photos and wash the camera if you believe that will destroy the evidence. It's not as if Jodi left the camera behind in its normal state.

the question whether Dr. D considers JA stabbing/shooting/slitting TA's throat a traumatic event - because it seemed to be questioning Dr. D's opinion in regards to PTSD ...
It was traumatic to TRAVIS, that is certain. I think you are less likely to suffer PTSD if you are the perpetrator (Jodi) rather than the victim.

Hopefully these questions were just to clarify Dr. D's testimony that a juror may not have understood clearly ... and hopefully Dr. D cleared up any misunderstandings ...

Listening to her was a relief after all that touchy feely babble from ALV.

Those questions bothered me as well. I'm especially concerned about the question of the camera in the washer. If I recall correctly, the implication was that Jodi somewhat intentionally put the camera in the washer and that may not make sense to a juror or two. It doesn't make sense to me as I think it just got misplaced in a frenzied clean up attempt and ended up in the washer. Then again, we're all trying to make sense of what the heck happened and the stories just don't make sense because they're lies.

Could JD have said something along the lines of "I am under the assumption that the camera was washed but do not know if it was intentional or not" it doesn't make sense to wash a camera, you'd want that gone. So she must have somehow wiped up the floor with the sheets and grabbed the camera and not knew where it was and by that time the roommate would be coming home so she thought "screw it, at least everything is deleted"

Interestingly enough, there was a show on last night called "killers" that highlighted psychopaths who admitted to killing people. One guy killed an entire family except one little girl. He talked about how he was feeling angry and felt like killing somebody and chose a family. They were all sleeping and he shot each numerous times. When asked about remorse, he said "why would I feel bad about it? It's what I wanted to do". His childhood was kind of similar to Jodi's. nothing could convince me that Jodi has any remorse for killing Travis except if she could do it again, she'd make it cleaner and take the camera....but I believe she would do it again.

The question about the camera didnt bother me as much as the tiger/bear question. I personally would assume that a camera and sd card would be destroyed by water and bleach.

The reason the tiger/bear question really bothers me because it reminds me of Dr. Samuel s explanation of her ptsd answers didnt matter even though she was lying about the ninja story, kinda like it doesnt matter what lies she telling, in her mind she knows the trauma (and even though premeditated it still a traumatic event of killing someone in such a horrific manner) I just hope thats not how they are thinking.

edit:
I could believe the camera accidentally ended up in the washer during the clean up but she also deleted the incriminating photos thinking they couldnt be recovered. The only reason I know pictures can be recovered is I put an old empty sd card into a printer slot once and it pulled up 150 old pictures I once deleted (was shocked to say the least) but most ppl dont know that, and I also know pretty much anything and everything can be recovered from a pc. I hope she didnt totally kill her hard drive and something will be announced that was found.

I'm not that concerned about any of the jury questions for JD, even the bear/tiger question. I think the bear/tiger question could have been sarcastic, or it could have been confirmation about the importance of a lie when forming a clinical evaluation. JD was correct that falsified data, or lies, skews the results, and when conducting a clinical evaluation you need to have the answers based upon truthful events.

The other thing I find interesting is that she was asked only a few questions when compared to Samuels or ALV, which I think works to her favor, as well as the prosecutor.

I think the important information is for JM to know drill home why it is premeditated murder. Connect the dots to the rest of the prior testimony.

As far as summations, he will need to clearly paint the picture. I think he should close by having a picture of Travis Alexander pre-JA, and then the picture of TA in the shower post-JA. The autopsy photos and shower pictures really drive home the brutality and creulty of the murder.

It's probably worth going back and re-watching the questions and answers to see what JD did answer and trying to sense what the jurors are thinking before and after those questions asked and answered is almost as mind twisting as trying to make sense out of this whole crazy *** trial.

I'll admit I'm more focused on how one or two jurors may lean at this point and the possible dynamics in deliberations. I want her convicted of 1st degree murder and nothing less.

That's what I am thinking too ... I'm sure JA wanted to take that camera with her along with the knife and the gun, however, she couldn't find because it got mixed up with things and she didn't have time to look for it and just left without it ... Or she really did think that washing it would destroy it so she didnt need to take it and she also thought she had deleted all the incriminating photos anyway ... Either which way, I just hope the jury figures this out too and isn't buying the PTSD claim and attributing that diagnosis to why she put the camera in the washing machine ... That would be scary, because as we know, it only takes one juror to see things differently :sad2: ...

As you said, because of all JA's stories and lies we will never know what truly happened :sad2: ... However, I have no doubt in my mind that this murder was premeditated and JA's fognesia is all BS and she really does remember EVERYTHING ...

That concerns me too ... I just hope that the jury heard Dr. D say that lies skew the test results and makes them invalid ...

My concern with the bear vs tiger question was, uh oh, is this juror just being sarcastic? ... Because I would hate to think that a juror is not taking things seriously and thinks this is all a big joke :sad2: ...

Good morning everyone, does anyone know what the special JA trial is about today or did I hear wrong?

HLN just reported a hearing is being held. Judge called both sides into courtroom. At DD's in CT so no Internet access. Not sure if live streaming.

That's what bothers me, it allows a juror to justify a perception/belief of PTSD via a lack of organizational skills when it's really that Jodi failed to plan and carry out a perfect murder. And that PSTD opens the avenue for the she just wasn't there and the 2 intruders stories/LIES in a further attempt to cover up her murder of Travis.

The coincidences of no cell phone power while she's in AZ killing Travis and that "stolen" .25, it's not a coincidence, it's premeditated.

Scheduled to be held in less than an hour. Not sure if it will be behind closed doors. I'm about to take a nap so don't count on me for more information. :)

Yeah just saw also special hearing any minute on HLN, dont think its behind closed doors... seal is up. but dunno its foggy atm
