During interviews how would you answer the question "Why are you looking to leave your current job?" Usually I have no problem with the question since I have left due to moves or advancement. I have only been at my current job since Oct. but I HATE it and am looking for something else.

If you are the person I think you are, part of the problem is the long commute, right? Could you say "I recently moved to the Atlanta area and wasn't familiar with just how bad the traffic could be. The commute to my job is just too long. I need something closer." That is certainly a plausible reason as far as I'm concerned.

The traffic is the least of my negatives about this job. I have come to learn that if I want the money, all the good paying jobs are north of the city and I live south. If I have a good paying job, where I like what I am doing, like the environment and the people I work with/for than that will take the sting out of the long commute. I have a couple of prospects that are in the same vicinity as my current job.

Maybe you could say that what you are doing right now is not a good fit for you and you are looking for something that will be better.

Yes, or it is not as challenging as you had hoped.

Never say anything negative about a former or current employer during an interview.

I did say that it wasn't a great fit but wasn't sure if that was ok.

Thanks!
