what would you do?
I've been asked to return to my old job (newspaper) and I'm really not sure which way to turn.
pros are - less hours, less travelling, no weekend work, company pension, more secure job, better basic pay, big bonuses.
cons are - mega pressure, struggle to fit holidays in, lots of cold calling, working back in my home town where everyone knows you and feels entitled to tell you what YOU wrote in YOUR paper etc
where I am
pros are - lovely pressure free job, I really enjoy what I do, lots of DISsing opportunities, cut price travel (not free though!)
cons are - no real security, what with the internet etc although most of what I do is beyond most peoples grasp using web sites its not rocket science so you never know how the travel industry is going to go, long hours, rubbish pay, no big bonuses (we don't even get our xmas party paid for!) no pension, nasty train ticket people! (people who travel around the world are more amenable when a flight gets delayed than people whose train was an hour late getting some place unexciting)
I'm torn, help me make a decision.
