Joanne and Paul's VR - 4th May 2011

I so love the photos by the fountain.

I love the idea of the first look, but unfortunately this won't work for us. The day of our vow renewal will probably be the most stressful day of my life - getting off the ship, clear immigrations and customs and then get to the venue. Graham has jokingly said that I should get changed before we get off the Wonder and see what the immigration officials say to have a bride in front of them. I will however get to check in at our hotel in my wedding dress.

wow! beautiful pictures! I especially love the ones by the fountain! Just gorgeous!

And I know what you mean about lacing the dress. Jackie, who did my hair from Beaute Speciale did my dress! She said she was a pro, and she was! It was so tight! I think Regina actually has shots of her lacing me in. And I told her she had to dress me for our bridal shoot in Aug too!

I know what you mean about the difference between friends/family lacing you up and the girls in the wedding shop, I wish we'd practised more as I look so much slimmer when the lady in the shop did it.

Gotta love Randy.

Your first look pictures are great!!!!!

Your photos are beautiful. I love your flowers!

I seriously just started crying (good tears, of course! ;)) when I saw your first look photos. You both just look so happy. Gorgeous!

i love your dress on you... it's just perfect!! we plan on staying at BLT as well--it looks great!! now i'm thinking of doing the first look!! yours was fantastic!

Joanne,

Love the latest installment! The first look was amazing. Love the photos by the fountain. Randy's work is amazing.

Can't wait to see more. :cool1:

Your pictures are wonderful! I love your dress! I can't wait for more!

Claire sweetie - I know, you live and learn hgh :sad2: You looked lovely and slim in your beautiful photos though!!! I confess to being a tiny bit in love with Randy!!;)

Mindy - Thank you!!! I adore them. You are getting the Roots!!! WQW!!

DisneyShamrock (I am so sorry but I don't know your name) - Thanks sweetie. I loved my flowers!!

Daniellie - Awww you are so sweet!!! We were both very emotional (good emotion - like your tears). I am nearly blubbing in that last 'first look' photo I posted!!

Deena sweetie - I am still so in love my dress and get a good feeling when I see it hanging in my wardrobe - I don't expect I will wear it again and that makes me sad!!:sad1:
I was very pleased with BLT. I am sure you will love it!!
We managed to arrange a good mix of photo location which were all different. The modern look of BLT, the earthy tones and marble of the Swan, the shabby-chic of the Boardwalk and the refined opulence of the GF (plus it's pretty beach). We did our TTD at the Poly and used the lake. pool and Sunset Point, so I feel we got a bit of everything in there!!!
You should totally do a first look!!! It is one of my most treasured memories of our day.

Corinna sweetie - Thank you!! You should present yourself to immigration in you dress. I am sure it would make a priceless photo!!

Andrea sweetie - Thank you sweetie. I wish I had asked Patricia to lace me up now, but you live and learn. Having said that, my Mum laced me in for the TTD and it was tighter, (I knew the weight of the water would weigh it down and I wanted to avoid a 'wardrobe malfunction') and although it felt more secure, I also had more back fat!!! I guess you can't win!!

Sweet Bethie (sorry the multiquote seems to have gone out of order) - Thank you!! Yup Randy is the best!!!

Sweet Melissa - Thanks so much!!

So we headed for the limo and our trip to the Swan

I was very excited to be going in a limo as I had never been in one before!! This may be hard for my friends from the US to believe, but although limos are growing in popularity in cities in the UK, we don't see too many in the countryside. Many of our country lanes are too narrow for them I guess.

We had decided that since we had done a 'first look', we would shoot our photos around the Swan and the Boardwalk before the ceremony so as our guests weren't hanging around afterwards. Randy started us off with some shots around the Swan and Dolphin. Although I had been to the Swan and Dolphin before, I have never stayed there and didn't realize how beautifully elegant it is. The earthy tones and the marble are just stunning!! I loved it!!
Again, Randy took so many lovely shots at the Swan and Dolphin, and it is so hard to decide which to post, but here goes a few!!

After Randy had all he wanted at the S/D, he told us we would head for the Boardwalk. We walked across the bridge. We didn't realise he was shooting and thought we were all just walking to get to the Boardwalk. You soon learn with Randy that he is shooting ALL the time and you end up with some lovely candid shots

We strolled across the bridge and waved to a boat whose passengers and crew were shouting congratulations. Soon we got to the Boardwalk.

Anybody who has had the immense pleasure of working with Randy will know that he loves props!!! He loved playing with my parasol and it features in many of our shots!!

JP03735-4-11.jpg

So we entered the Boardwalk. I was really looking forward to shooting here!! As we were approaching the Boardwalk, Randy was good enough to warn me that due to the wood and nails which make up the Boardwalk, I should hold my dress up well as he had had brides snag under-netting etc on the planks. Paul took hold of my flowers so as I could use both hands to hold up my dress, As I was walking, Randy got this shot from behind. Another one I didn't know was being taken!!

Next up:- Around the Boardwalk

Yay I've been waiting for these pics!! So beautiful!
The first time I'll see the Swan will be on our wedding, so I'm glad you loved it!

Sweet Jennifer - Thank you. You will so love Randy and get hundreds (and I am not exaggerating!!) of good shots!!

Kristi sweetie - I did love it!!! When you see the pics of the ceremony in the courtyard, you will see how pretty it is!!

i love the walking away shots, i've blown one of mine up and got it on the wall.

more lovely photos Joanne! :goodvibes BLT made a lovely backdrop for the pictures as did the Boardwalk/Swan too - great that the photographer captured those moments when Paul first saw you :lovestruc

Emma princess: x

Gorgeous photos Joanne, you look beautiful and your pics make me excited to stay at BLT :)

The photos are really wonderful. Did your dress get very dirty with the outside shots? This is the one thing that I am concerned about.

Claire sweetie - I love a lot of the photos Randy took of walking away or from behind. It's probably because I can't see my face!! :lmao:

Sweet Emma - Thank you!! I was very pleased with the locations we chose for photos. They were all very beautiful in their own way and so different!!

Sarah - Thank for dropping by!!! Thank you for the lovely compliments!! BLT is wonderful and had more pretty locations for photos than I expected!!! I am sure you will love it.

Beautiful pictures! I love how unique they are - I don't feel like I've seen all of these before like you do with a lot of wedding photos. Your first look is so sweet! It gave me goosebumps reading about it, and Randy captured it so well! I love hearing about people who can keep the love alive for so many years! :goodvibes

Corinna sweetie - I must admit that a dirty dress was one of my concerns, especially as we had a lot of the photos taken before the actual ceremony. In actual fact, although it got a little grubby on the bottom, it was not too bad and certainly not dirty enough to see in the ceremony photos.
The funny thing is, after the TTD, my dress ended up cleaner than it was at the end of the VR day. I had been in the lake, lying on the concrete and sand and sitting on the grass at Sunset Point. The last thing we did with Randy at that session was shots in the pool and that seemed to clean up my dress nicely. Now (after cleaning) it is as good as new!!

Sweet Krysten - Your post has made my day!!! Thank you so much!! I was eager to avoid the 'usual' shots, especially at the Boardwalk, as it is so popular for photos (understandably as it is so photogenic). I think Randy has come up with a few that are really different!!

So we wandered on to the Boardwalk

JP04195-4-11.jpg

I have to say that the Boardwalk is one of my favourite places at WDW. I love the vibrant shabby-chic look, the colours and the atmosphere!!! It always seems such a happy place, and today was no exception. We knew that there was a 3.00pm wedding at SBP (it was disbride Maywedding I think), and so we were careful that we didn't interrupt anything, as she was the DFTW bride and would have right of way (and rightly so). In actual fact, we didn't see any sign of the wedding at all.

So onto more shooting!!! Again, I am so spoilt for choice as to which photos to post, but here goes nothing!!!
We started off with some shots at the ADH end of the Boardwalk
As I have said before, Randy is such fun and got on very well with Paul. Throughout the day, in many of my shots, I am laughing at something one or the other has said or done!!

Randy is very sneaky and takes all sorts of shots when you are unaware of it!!! Here is one he took of our reflection in a shop window

JP14265-4-11.jpg

As we wandered happily up the Boardwalk, we were constantly being congratulated by other guests and cast members. Cast came out of their shops to shout good wishes, and guests waved and shouted out of their resort room windows!!

JP13875-4-11.jpg

I was delighted by how genuine everybody was!! Brides on the Boardwalk are probably an everyday occurrence, but people treated us as if we were the only bridal couple they had ever seen there!!! We really felt like royalty - move over William and Kate!!!

My DH decided he needed to spend a few moments alone with his first love - no, not me, GOLF. He made some practice swings using my parasol!!

JP14095-4-11.jpg

We really were having a ball, and enjoying every minute of being on the Boardwalk

JP14385-4-11.jpg

Time slipped quickly by, and soon it was time to head back to the Swan and prepare for the ceremony. We wandered back up the Boardwalk, stopping, of course, for some other shots on the way!!

Next up Ceremony part 1

Your pictures are fantastic! It is clear you have too many wonderful ones to choose from! I can't wait to have photos taken at the Boardwalk!

Darn it, Joanne! I was completely convinced that I wasn't going to drag my wretched bones all the way over to the Boardwalk for photos, but your beautiful BW pictures have me reconsidering!! :rotfl: They're so lovely, and actually my favorite is the one Randy took of you and Paul with your reflection in the shop window. It's so pretty and "artsy"! :goodvibes

It's been a long time since we walked from the Swan over to the BW ... can you tell me how far it is? I'm wondering how much my hair will fall and how bad my feet will hurt if we do that, LOL.
