Jingle Bell Jingle BAM Show at DHS with Dessert Party Details POST 8

This may sound like a dumb question but I have 2 teens so in Disney eyes, that's an adult @$69 each, correct? having a few adult cocktails may justify the price a bit but for them it seems outrageous. Not that it is available on 12/1 or12/2 at this point, but wondering if I should even keep checking.

yeah they are adults in Disney's eyes

Ok, as hard as it is, I decided to cancel our dessert party.

We will take our chances using the tips posted to watch without the party. For us, while the show looks good on video and I'm sure would be even better in person, it doesn't have the same draw that SWaGS would so the dessert party has less value.

So, if anyone is interested I will be cancelling a party of 5, 11/19 6:45pm show, check in for party 5:30pm
I have to cancel tomorrow but would be happy to coordinate if anyone is interested. Send me a PM.

I canceled our JBJB dessert party tickets after seeing the reviews and thinking about how much we were spending on it. 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 12 and 15) cost $79 each. Just doesn't seem like it's worth $400 - especially since my 3 kids don't drink!

Instead, we're doing Minnie's Xmas party at Hollywood and vine with the fantasmic package. You get dinner, amazing desserts, Santa goofy and the other main characters in holiday outfits for about $30 less per person! Plus a great show - fantasmic.

Since F! Is at 8, I'm thinking we'll catch a bit of JBJB afterwards at 9pm. Even if it's from afar - we'll hear the music, see the lasers, fireworks and snow.

Of course, the reservation disappeared quickly! Hope I made the right decision!!

We are on the fence with this one as well. We have a reservation for November 26 but it is also the night we were able to get 50sPTC which is a favorite for the kiddos. We can't do both on the same night as we don't eat that much. And we can't get 50s any other night of our trip. So if we were willing to stake out a spot 90 minutes in advance and one of us hold it while the other took the kids to do some things could we get a good spot at 90 minutes or an hour? Some of the reviews I'm reading people are leaving the dessert party early to get spots so how early is that? After all for the cost if we have to leave 20 minutes early that only leaves 40 minutes. Add into that lines for drinks we won't hardly have time to enjoy it. I'm just not sure which reservation to cancel?

Thanks, I do know they are Disney adults, just seems like when there is an alcohol involved event, there should be 3 levels of pricing. Of course, maybe they want this to be an adult event and that's fine too. I just can't justify $69 each for a 14 and 17 year old!

We are an adult couple a loved it. The party lines were only "long" at the beginning, and, even then, it was a 2 minute wait. They were at the food table and bar. After about 20 minutes, everyone settled in, and lines dissapeared. It is true, the Gingerbread Martini is amazing. I am not a drinker, do not usually like alcohol, and I was loving these! If you want something that tastes more alcohol, go with the apple spiced cocktail. I can imagine it was delicious for those that wanted something stronger. The cinnamon stick inside was a nice touch. The party was fun, I didn't think too crowded, and the staff was nice (obviously). The glasses were/are so much fun to look through! We have been taking them with us everywhere since :D We had a couple behind us who said the food options were better at a dessert party for the Wine and Dine, but my SO and I loved what was offered. Meatballs were amazing, salad was too, antipasto delicious and the dip too. If I had 2 complaints, Goofy was in a hurry to see everyone, so I didn't get any good pictures, but, at the end, they ask if we saw him, so I could have just asked then to get more pictures. We weren't worried about it though and I'm sure he spends more time with the kids anyway. 2nd, the dessert options were just ok. I am a sweets person and it was meh. Needed more chocolate options.
We personally loved the show. The glasses made the fireworks hilarious!! The cast said not to wear them during the show, because it would be hard to see the projections, but you still can see for the most part, and can take them on and off depending on if it is a firework portion of the show. My SO loves Nightmare Before Christmas, so for us, that portion of the show was the best! We loved the Oogy Boogy song. The finally was great and we were impressed. Overall, we are very happy with our experience and it was worth every penny. Not worrying about position for the show was a big plus. Of course we wish the price would go back to $29 or whatever it was but that's just not going to happen haha.
Quick hint: There is a standing room and a sitting room. We are more than happy to stand but, if that is important to you, when you enter, go directly to the right, into the 2nd room, and you'll probably get a table to sit.

I have seen some people stake out a spot that early, but I've also seen many people arrive much later and find spots that are good enough.

Just for clarification, for a 5:45 party and 6:45 JBJB show, although the advertised party start time is 5:45, guests are allowed in at 5:30. That's standard for just about all dessert parties at DHS and Epcot. The party area must be clear of all guests by 6:35. So if you stay until the very end, you have at least an hour at the dessert area. It's not necessary to leave early for the viewing area unless you have a need or want to be at the front.
We have small kids (a 6 YO and a short 12 YO)so would need to leave early to get a good viewing spot in the roped off area. That's nice to know about being let in early. I am also looking at the food, whereas my kids love fruit and cheese so would have eaten the skewers at the SW one, they won't eat antipasto, the salad or meatballs. And the dessert selection is very limited. The reviews of the SW one had several cupcakes and cookies and this one has one cupcake with mint and one cookie that's gingerbread neither which are kids favorites. I guess I was thinking there would be a variety of desserts like the previous party and I would think fruit and cheese would be a standard non sugar item for kids so not sure why they don't have those. Since we are giving up 50s my kids would need to enjoy the desserts to makeup for that. I am looking to see this weekend how the reviews are and then decide which to cancel. Thanks for the info on when the party really starts as I would have gone when the CM on the phone told me they opened.:thanks:

I had the same dilemma. I had both a Mama Melrose ADR (which is a must do) and the dessert party scheduled at the same time. I ended up finding a lunch ADR for MM so we will do MM for lunch and the dessert party for dinner.

Thanks for the review!! I'm happy to hear the wait times have gone down a bit during the party :)

I agree and I have a ten year old that will likely eat one cupcake!

Thanks for the review! Are they still handing out gingerbread martinis when you walk in? Shouldn't that alleviate some of the bar line? maybe I will two fist it lol

Haha good idea. Yes, gingerbreads on one tray, punch on the other. I guzzled mine and headed right for the bar. I was worried about the lines going in and, in my oppinion, shouldn't have been. They really were never terrible. You can order more than one drink too, so I took advantage of that.

Empty Big Gulp cup from 7-11? grab/fill/grab/fill repeat? :D
um I may be planning to bring a pack of full size christmas paper plates for our group and at least a disney souvenir mug that should hold 2-3 of those bad boys... to go while waiting for the fireworks to actually start. Maybe. We want to spend more time socializing and less time on the buffet line lol
