Jingle Bell Jingle BAM Show at DHS with Dessert Party Details POST 8

I'm sort of torn about this as I hope it's great in person but I'm underwhelmed with the video I've seen. I have this booked in early Dec but I have to say that the fireworks seemed sort of imbalanced... the left side seemed to be stuff that went straight up (left side) and weren't very interesting and the right side had the more engaging stuff.

I'm not sure why but I was thinking/hoping that maybe one of the "spirited" drinks should have been a hot drink for the christmas party.

Keeping our reservation but a bit disappointed as when we were there in May we saw how awesome Symphony in the Stars was --- and it was a REALLY well done show. I'm not sure if it's just me but the laser projections are not a replacement for an awesome fireworks show -- so maybe this is why I'm not thrilled about this one.
Ever since they had to move the launch site for fireworks they have had to scale down the fireworks because it's very close to osceola parkway, if they have anything bigger they would need to shut down osceola and that's impractical because of traffic
The show is cute, lots of Christmas spirit, I'm sure if you go with an open mind and not comparing it to anything else you'll enjoy it

Thanks to all for sharing their experiences, opinions, and pictures and @yulilin3 and @FastPasser for the insider insight! It has been so helpful. I particularly loved the post that mentioned the CMs standing behind the guests hugging each other after the success of the 1st night show. It is important to remember, these are people that work hard to spread magic, and no matter what, give their hearts to do so 99.9% of the time.

I was hoping to see SWaGS when were there and decided on doing the dessert party (huge SW fans). Now that JBJB is being offered, I booked that and the show looks cute. My party is me, DH and my 3 older sons; part of the family reunion for Thanksgiving. They will probably like the drinks at the party, enjoy the food and desserts somewhat, and appreciate the view for the show, BUT for the cost ($345) I'm not sure that's enough for essentially 5 (Disney loving) adults. We enjoy the projection show before Wishes, but really we are there for Wishes. This looks similar to Celebrate the Magic with lasers and maybe not as inspiring music.

I am torn. For the cost of drinks - figuring based on the size, $12 pp going rate x 3 drinks each (which is a lot) for 4, 21+= $144. So that leaves $200 for apps and dessert and viewing. That doesn't seem like a huge value to me for a "cute" 13 minute holiday show. Ugh, what to do?

MVMCP is ~$140 more for the 5 of us and that includes 7 hours at the MK (4pm-11pm), parades, fireworks, special characters, and "free cookies and hot chocolate". Compared to an hour long dessert party that I have to leave early to get a good spot since there are ~150/175 other party goers, I really don't know.

Thanks for listening!

you have to sit down and look at the pros and cons:
Pro:
You get savory and sweet items, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages for an hour. Santa Goofy walking around the tables. nice glasses to take home with cute effects
Guaranteed spot to view the show without waiting for more than 10 minutes (if you want the same view you need to grab a spot at least an hour and a half before the show)

Cons:
Price

I agree that MVMCP is a better value, so that's a personal choice

Tried to look around and see if we could switch the dessert party but none of the days that worked for us have availability, so it looks like we will attend the party on Sunday

I'm so torn about keeping this reservation. I have this booked for DS9 and myself for Dec. 16, but after reading the reviews, I'm wondering if I might be better off just buying him a cupcake and staking out our own spot for the show. I don't know if I want to spend over $100 for what sounds like a mediocre show. We did the Osborne Lights dessert party last year on Dec. 26 (I thought it would be terribly crowded) only to discover, it was completely unnecessary. It just wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. Just when you think you have everything perfectly planned out! LOL!

Thank you! I agree with everything you said. Hmmm, what to do?! LOL

If we decide to go, I will let you know how it goes.

Personally I'm planning to wait until a few more reviews roll in before I pull the trigger on this one. I too am in the "truly bummed out" camp about missing the Star Wars fireworks (that party would have been a no brainer for me).

I am most likely going to be canceling for 2 people for the party on December 8th, but that date may be too late for you since it is still three weeks away.

I totally agree. I am a Star Wars fan and my DD is a Harry Potter fan. In the last couple of months, we've learned that SWaGS is on hiatus in December, and just recently learned that Forbidden Journey is closed for refurb in December. Still trying to be optimistic here...

I'm still extremely bummed over SW not being shown. I'm not canceling the JBJB dessert party though, I think the viewing area and Santa Goofy are worth it. We would still watch the show either way.

Cool - I was figuring they would **** down for the dessert party since they use some of the entrance space?
