You know girls, when I was planning my VR, I was very worried about this PJ. I spoke at length to Karen about it. She re-assured me that this was a very difficult situation (hotel completely full, raining outside etc). It has only happened the once and she said that it would not ever happen again as it had been addressed. I don't know how (maybe the hotel is now obliged to leave a prettier room free for rainy weddings?????), she didn't say. She assured me that any indoor location would be decorated beautifully (candles etc) and would look lovely!! She also said that the poor bride was in such a state about her wedding being rained upon, that whatever they tried to do for her was wrong. It must have been very difficult for JM, as I think the bride was very angry at the weather and wouldn't calm down. Also, she had purchased/ordered nothing in the way of ceremony decor, so they had very little with which to make the room look nice (floral etc). At least it all turned out well in the end!!! I trusted what Karen said, and she really put my mind at rest. I needed to ask, as this was the one and only piece of negative feedback I could find about S/D weddings.

Thanks Joanne, that makes me feel a lot better. When I was in the early stages of planning about 2 years ago there were only 3 swan PJs that I found and that was one. I thought the atrium was actually really pretty and decided to go ahead with swan despite that PJ. Then yours popped up and I got to follow along with you and that only cemented my decision. You truly were the Swan Pioneer!

We're here! We had a nice ride up despite being stuck in traffic for an hour. We did dinner at the T rex tonight and it was pretty cool. We did a grand gathering and requested a certain area at CBR and got all of our requests. Yay CBR! All of our family and friends will be arriving tomorrow and the chance of rain for our welcome party is gone for tomorrow. BUT...now they are saying rain for our VR Saturday. PM thunderstorms starting at 3 and going through 6. I'm really sad. Our VR is at 4. Looks like it will be inside after all. I'm trying to be ok with it but I'm a planner! I'm nervous about where we'll end up. I was fighting back tears when I heard the forecast but I'm feeling better about it now. Truth be told, crescent terrace is pretty but I was never in love with it. I hope our indoor location is better. I trust Karen and I know she'll take care of it all...but...just....sigh.

Aww sweetie - I am so proud to be called a 'Swan pioneer'!!! Thank you!!
I am so sorry about the weather forecast, but you know how things can change very suddenly, so there is still hope!!! We had a 30% chance of rain right up until the morning of our VR and in the end it rained a little at about 4.30pm - 5.00pm, but by then we were safely inside the GF. The downside was that at the actual ceremony, it was very humid and hot, and our guests really felt it, as there is little shade in the West Courtyard. I was so glad we provided fans for them!!!
I will keep praying for sun for you..... don't give up hope!!!
I know you will have a beautiful VR whatever!!!!

I'm going to chime in with a me too and I agree! More specifically...

When I first started planning and looking at a S/D wedding over a year ago the only thing I could find was her TR. It almost deterred me but then I found Joanne!

Not only that, but after working with JM first hand, I know that their praises are warranted. They really truly absolutely are the BEST at their job. Every time I call Karen I'm like...WHAH! and then after I talk to her I'm like ahh

You know this too! They will go to leaps and bounds to make sure this is EXACTLY how you want it. It might not be what was planned, but it is going to be stunning. Indoors or outdoors, rain or no rain. It is going to be amazing (and I'm watching the forecast round the clock for you too )

I am truly proud that I have managed in a small way to 'up' the profile of JM and S/D weddings/VRs, here on the boards. Karen and all the JM team really deserve all the praise they get, and I hope that we, as S/D ambassadors, can continue to spread the word about the amazing service that they provide. It is always so gratifying to welcome new S/D couples, knowing that they will have the same wonderful experience we have had!!!
I adore the photos you have posted!!!! Whilst I hope the weather stays fine for our precious Jilian, they certainly show how you can use it to your advantage, should the worst happen!!!! Thanks for posting them sweetie!!!

Sarah is awesome I love this pictures! If it rains make the most of it right? I am so glad you posted these hopefully it helped Jillian smile.

Jo is truly a S/D pioneer as she was the first one I saw that did a S/D wedding then came Faith. So I am just glad to be a part of the club.

Jillian I feel bad about what I said I really don't want it to rain on your day I just got excited about the atrium so Im sorry...pretty insensitive

I love all you girls and I want your days to be magical. I am glad we are finally getting a Swalphin wedding as we have just had DFTW weddings to read about for a while.
