Jigsaw Puzzles, Anyone?

That's the one that killed us! If we ever finish it, we're going to hang it as well.

I had to get a magnifying glass after a while and start doing it in sections. It took about a week of me working all day long on it.

I love puzzles, too! I'm currently working on a 1000-piece tropical beach. Beaches and cityscapes are my favorites for some reason. Jenn Lynn, I had the same problem when my DD was little and now that she's older, my cats get into my puzzles if given the chance. My solution is to get a few of those foam poster-boards. I work the puzzle on one and then when I'm not working on it I use the other to cover it up and then stash it under the sofa. Works great! :thumbsup2

I love jigsaw puzzles too!

The day my Bits & Pieces catalog shows up is a happy day at my house.

I have about 3 dozen (mostly 1000 piecers, but I have a few 3000-5000 ones). When I'm done with them I take 'em apart and box them back up. They're in the attic, along with my LEGO kit boxes. Yep, I'm a geek.

Has anyone ever found a good jigsaw puzzle of Mont St. Michel? I've been searching for 10 years for one.

DH and I recently found out that our DS4 loves to do puzzles. He does them a lot at pre-school and puts them together pretty quick.

DH bought him a 300 piece Jack Sparrow puzzle that DS and I did together (standard size pieces). We worked on it for about a week before we finished it. I was amazed at how many pieces he put together on his own! Luickily, I took a picture of it before he broke it apart to do with Daddy. It's still not finished. DS doesn't want me to have it on a cardboard backing to hang in his room :confused3

Earlier this week DH bought him two more puzzles; a small Cars puzzles (big pieces for ages 3-7) and a 100 piece Superman puzzle. He put the Cars puzzle together in about 5 minutes or less  the day he got it and we took about a 1/2 hour to an hour for the 100 piece puzzle last night! He's too darn smart :goodvibes

Someone said that DS's interest in puzzles means that he will be really good in math. Don't know how true that is, but I know DH loves puzzles that make him think and he has a BS in Computer Science. Go figure :confused3

I occasionally like to do puzzles and especially like fantasy and Thomas Kincaide (sp?).

I love jigsaws that have a nostalgic theme. Old country stores, county fairs, old post cards, 60s television, old rock and roll. only 1,000 piece puzzles too.

Ah, puzzles. We love puzzles as a family activity for the Christmas holidays. They really help keep the peace with my ILs as we attempt to live under one roof for several days. Puzzles allows for some very important down time, because different members of the family can work on the puzzle, together yet independently. We can have conversations while we work on them, talk about the puzzle, or we can sit in peaceable silence. We can sit for hours, or just pick up a couple of pieces and then walk away.

Yep, nothing better than putting a puzzle together on Christmas eve, with a puzzle piece in one hand that's ready to be placed in the exact right spot. Except maybe putting a puzzle together on Christmas eve, a puzzle piece in one hand and a glass of wine in the other!

My 5 year old loves puzzles as well. She is up to 100 piece puzzles. :)

My 12 yo dd loves, I mean loves jigsaw puzzles. I have found its a great activity for us to do together and a comfortable way to keep up and have those sometimes difficult "chats".

I always put out a new puzzle when we have weekend guests - nobody can keep away and its great fun.

We have a foyer upstairs with a card table that may have become permanent and it always has a puzzle on it. Right now its a 3d butterfly and flower puzzle.

We put most of them away but a couple my dd has used the puzzle glue on and put up in her room.
