DH and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in the fall. He will likely try to surprise me with an expensive piece of jewelry. He tends to buy things *he* likes, though, and doesn't seem to have a very good grasp of what *I* like. So, I was thinking that maybe I could suggest a gift that I would use and like instead. (Yes, I know I am lucky to be married to someone who will occasionally buy me jewelry....he is a good guy and he tries, but I hate to see him spend big bucks on things I don't like).
So, would you go with jewelry or something like a Cricut? If you choose the cutting system, please tell me which one and why.
Thanks.

Start soon, leave open scrap mags at suitable pages, and drop casual comments like "look at this amazing machine! If I had that I'd be able to get my scrapping done quicker and have more time for other things" or "My hands get so tired cutting out shapes, I wish I had something to cut them automatically but how can I afford it when we need the money for x ?" If you're out you could also say things like "How inappropriate to be wearing those big pieces of jewellery at this sort of place/function" or "I don't know how jewellery shops keep in business, its so old-fashioned to wear large pieces now, everyone buys costume stuff."

Congrats on 20 years!
