If you're going at Thanksgiving or dates other than Christmas the rates were fantastic. Less than what we paid the past 2 years on Delta.
I just went on the JetBlue web and BDL was listed . . . but no flights are available yet. My DH said that he read that flights would start in June. I am also surprised at how high SW is for Sept. I am booked at $114.00. I usually do not pay over $100.00. That cheapest was $69.00 three years ago. Maybe the compitition will be good!

BDL is only 12 more minutes/11 more miles than BOS from my house according to Mapquest, and if we are expecting snow I can park in the garage for $69 for a week vs $100 more at Boston! I once had to dig out my car at an off site location in Boston and it was horrible!
If you have never flown out of Bradley, you will probably love it. Driving there is easy, I have rarely hit traffic going to or from the airport. It so nice & easy to park in the garage and walk to the terminal, kind of feels like you are going to the mall. Then, when you've landed after your trip it is nice to just get into your car, pay and hop right onto 91.
Michelle, I'm wearing my RedSox shirt with the bling on it and Beckett gamewear bracelet. Just hope things improve real soon! Have fun at Storyland and Santa's Village - did those when I was little, and then we took our DD a few years ago.
There was an article in yesterdays Hartford Courant. At first Jet Blue will offer two daily flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale starting Nov. 17th. They are hoping to stay and grow. JetBlue, a major rival of Southwest will offer $69.00 one way intrductory fares. They expect the addition of JetBlue to drive prices down. Sounds good to me.![]()
I am in the same boat...I am in Fairfield County so I have many airports and airlines to choose from and so far EVERYTHING Xmas week is outrageous. JetBlue did have a flight on Monday from Newburgh for $107 one way but now that flight is up over $300 along with every other JetBlue option (BDL, EWR, LGA, SWF, HPN, JFK). Tons of flights, tons of airlines and everything is over $250 each way. I am not paying $2000+ to fly my family that week. No way. How (why) are people paying that much??I was thrilled to hear that JetBlue was coming to Hartford, but I just checked out their fares for the week between Christmas and New Year's. They are sky-high: $389 each way per person plus taxes and fees for the dates I wanted, for a total of $2,400 for three people! I'm not paying that. I may have to start changing dates or cancel the trip altogether if the fares don't come down some.
Hopefully Southwest won't be as high when they start booking those dates.
I was ecstatic to see BDL in JB's pull down menu when I went to look for my thankgiving airfare. But it quickly turned to horror. They had two flights per day, $169 going down and a whopping $389 coming back on Sun (that will teach me to NEVER fly on this day ever again!). Pretty pathetic.
I've been flying JB for years now and love them. I found their recent release to be pretty high (of what I normally see). We will see some sales for sure. I just listed my November flights with Yapta as I've done many, many times. Hopefully the next sale will reveal some better rates. We are not flying during T-Day, but V-Day week. I normally pay $59-$79 each way out of Dulles and the fares are $92-$162, so much different than in the past for us. I'm waiting.
If you booked out of BDL, check the price, mine just went down already!
Nope the fares for our dates have not dropped yet I just checked![]()
