JetBlue to Hartford

If you're going at Thanksgiving or dates other than Christmas the rates were fantastic. Less than what we paid the past 2 years on Delta.

I just went on the JetBlue web and BDL was listed . . . but no flights are available yet. My DH said that he read that flights would start in June. I am also surprised at how high SW is for Sept. I am booked at $114.00. I usually do not pay over $100.00. That cheapest was $69.00 three years ago. Maybe the compitition will be good!

The flights are now there! I just booked my December trip for $89 each way for Thurs 12/9 to Thurs 12/16 ($399 for 2 r/t tickets!) I was going to do Boston yesterday until I read this thread-I had no clue about BDL! BDL is only 12 more minutes/11 more miles than BOS from my house according to Mapquest, and if we are expecting snow I can park in the garage for $69 for a week vs $100 more at Boston! I once had to dig out my car at an off site location in Boston and it was horrible!

My Mom booked Boston yesterday for Thurs to Tues and paid $50 more per person. Unfortunately BDL does not have a late enough evening flight on Thurs going down to MCO.

Plus Delta charges for first checked bag now! At least on JB I don't have to budget another $100 for luggage!

If you have never flown out of Bradley, you will probably love it. Driving there is easy, I have rarely hit traffic going to or from the airport. It so nice & easy to park in the garage and walk to the terminal, kind of feels like you are going to the mall. Then, when you've landed after your trip it is nice to just get into your car, pay and hop right onto 91.

I am very happy that JB is now flying out of Hartford. This trip I decided to fly out of White Plains because it is also highly recommended for "ease of use" however, the parking situation is not as good.

Michelle, I'm wearing my RedSox shirt with the bling on it and Beckett gamewear bracelet. Just hope things improve real soon! Have fun at Storyland and Santa's Village - did those when I was little, and then we took our DD a few years ago.

Thank you so much! Because of these boards I checked jetblue today and found a great price! I booked tickets from Hartford to MCO on Nov 20th for $109 and our trip home on Nov 30th for $129! I was worried about traveling so close to Thanksgiving and I figured I would have to pay a lot more. Thanks!!:goodvibes

I have flown out of BDL before, but not for years! I worked right outside of Boston for 8 years so I would fly out of Boston on Friday nights after work. Now I am living in the dead center of Mass (literally there is a tree at the end of my street marking the center-lol) and I can take the back way to Sturbridge and zip right down to Hartford. At least I don't have to worry about Mass Pike traffic!

We did Storyland last year and absolutely loved it, staying a few extra days this time and adding Santa's Villiage and a few other things. Don't get me started on the Sox........ :scared1:

SW has some serious competition now…wonder how long Jet Blue plans to keep these rates.

There was an article in yesterdays Hartford Courant. At first Jet Blue will offer two daily flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale starting Nov. 17th. They are hoping to stay and grow. JetBlue, a major rival of Southwest will offer $69.00 one way intrductory fares. They expect the addition of JetBlue to drive prices down. Sounds good to me.:cheer2:

I was very excited about JB coming to BDL until I heard the date was not until Nov 17th, too last for our trip this Nov, we are going Nov 8-13th, so booked out of HPN. $ 69 fares will be great for any able to use them, in any case SW and Delta need a lil competion in BDL.

I was thrilled to hear that JetBlue was coming to Hartford, but I just checked out their fares for the week between Christmas and New Year's. They are sky-high: $389 each way per person plus taxes and fees for the dates I wanted, for a total of $2,400 for three people! I'm not paying that. I may have to start changing dates or cancel the trip altogether if the fares don't come down some.

Hopefully Southwest won't be as high when they start booking those dates.

I am in the same boat...I am in Fairfield County so I have many airports and airlines to choose from and so far EVERYTHING Xmas week is outrageous. JetBlue did have a flight on Monday from Newburgh for $107 one way but now that flight is up over $300 along with every other JetBlue option (BDL, EWR, LGA, SWF, HPN, JFK). Tons of flights, tons of airlines and everything is over $250 each way. I am not paying $2000+ to fly my family that week. No way. How (why) are people paying that much??

Well, I am now down to AirTran and Southwest who have not released yet. My last chance. Or, I am canceling or driving...Not good.

I was ecstatic to see BDL in JB's pull down menu when I went to look for my thankgiving airfare. But it quickly turned to horror. They had two flights per day, $169 going down and a whopping $389 coming back on Sun (that will teach me to NEVER fly on this day ever again!). Pretty pathetic.

We were in the same boat but changed our dates by one day and are willing to fly thru Newburgh. First thing on Monday when JB released the Dec flights, we booked Newburgh to MCO for $1050 for 3 of us. The dates are Dec 26 to Dec 31. We had to change our ressie from Dec 27 to Jan 1 to get this awesome price, but as you all saw it was better than paying $1740 from BDL.

I've been flying JB for years now and love them. I found their recent release to be pretty high (of what I normally see). We will see some sales for sure. I just listed my November flights with Yapta as I've done many, many times. Hopefully the next sale will reveal some better rates. We are not flying during T-Day, but V-Day week. I normally pay $59-$79 each way out of Dulles and the fares are $92-$162, so much different than in the past for us. I'm waiting.

You are looking at the same time frame as I was, I booked JB on Monday fearing fares rising. Flying out of HPN to MCO RT $244.40, I can live with it considering what Delta has been showing out of BDL plus having to pay to check bags with Delta. I have been watching JB since Feb 4 and $89 been the lowest I seen posted, so I took the plunge.

My BDL-MCO flights on JB are UP $80 from when I first got them on 4/19/10. I don't see mine going down as I'm flying over T-day weekend(Sat) and coming back on a Friday.
